  • Love Akita. I have my akita boy to death. I'll do an thing to keep him safe and so he , akita will take a bullet for you . mine killed a rottweiler and pitbull dog was attaking us. I was shocked how much akita can do.

  • I've got an Akita Inu!He's 3 months old, hyper, stubborn(but it comes with the breed and that's why I love them so much)and he actually listens to me from time to time! xD

  • We have an akita inu and indeed if it's not an Akita than it is just a dog.

  • @ShAkRaMeNtO lol please research ,,,, that is NOT true just different bloodline infact you go and look at the 'original' akitas 100 years ago, guess what they look more like the american type today, again please research properly before stating so called facts.13 likes that's 13 people who havn't researched and think the american line is a more recent breed.Anybody want to question this please pm me with your research.Thanks.

  • @scraderz20 Actually the American Akita is a mixed breed, with a lot of St Bernard(you even see the color types sometimes) and Tosa mixed in to increase size, there where certain lines that also have German Shepard, the Akita Inu was recreated after almost total destruction after world war 2 from the dogs that most seemed like what an Akita should look like and both breeds developed differently over time.

  • @heilong79 Actually your wrong, The American Akita is closer to the original breed. But due to political reasons the Japanese in the early 1950's had to change the rules. They made them a national treasure to stop the Americans from bringing them back to America after the war. The reason being they were almost made extinct for there fur during the war. If you look real close at the Japanese coat lining its fur color is a match for the American ones. Even Hachiko had a cream color mask on white.

  • Which if you go by the Japanese definition he can't qualify as true Akita. It all comes down to what color you like anyways. They are all very loyal and will take someone time to train if they are older when you get one. It just takes smarts and understanding them. To get it done without confusing them it is you want them to do without being over bearing. Most people don't have this type of patients to stick with it. Cause they are strong willed dogs that will test you if they smell weakness.

  • I'm just saying that Akitas aren't the best dogs in the world, but I do like them.

  • We are dog people. We have a Canadian Eskimo Dog for our winter sled pulling activities and a 6 months old Kuvasz puppy for our future all non-summer hiking and trekking activities. We will soon be having a third dog purely for summer water based activities (perhaps a Chessie, American Water Spaniel or even a Leonberger). The truth is that as dog people we have found that all dogs are equally beautiful and great companions. Akita is great too.

  • i just love them sooooooooooooo. give it a big hug.

  • @ShAkRaMeNtO

Japanese Akita Inu Dogs are only 5 colours; Red, Fawn, Sesame, Brindle and Pure White. All except white coat must have whitish hair on the sides of the muzzle, on the cheeks, the neck, chest, body and tail, which is called Urajiro(Ura-ji-ro). American Akitas are not permitted in the Japanese Akita Inu, as often seen with Black Masks, longer legs and bigger built. Loukhuak1948./

  • @loukhuak1948 where can you get one ?

  • Thanks for video, no dog compares to the AKITA!!!!!!! When my first dog, Jedi, passed we got another soon after, cannot be without!!!!!

  • what's up with with all the haters

  • Comment removed

  • @ShAkRaMeNtO and the american ones are the better ones!!!!!

  • i really really want an akita i just dont know where to buy them, i really wanna buy a japaneese akita inu, their so pretty! and lovley dogs, the movie hachi made me cry, thats when i decided i wanted an akita, not only bc theyr' pretty, also bc they r so loyal and wonderfull animals, like the husky <3 love your video!

  • @flaka561 Don't buy one. Adopt. Contact your local area Akita Rescue Group. There are so many Akita's available for adoption. I hope you'll give a dog a second chance at life. Rescues make some of the best family companions and you can teach an old dog new tricks.

  • @rawmark

you know somethin, our right i should adopt one, and i will someday =).

    Thanx :D

  • American Akitas are a little bit ungly, sry for that, but the original Akita Inus from Japane are most beautiful than the American =)

  • american akita sucks!!!!

  • I love this breed! Akitas are amazing, and no other compares.

    Thanks for the vid.

  • I got an AKC registard American Akita he "Bull" grew to 140lbs of solid muscle, Black and Fawn,. He was a loving well behaved family member. Bull lived 14 yrs and after him I can't bring myself to get another dog. I have thought about getting one from an Akita rescue org but haven't done it

  • the japanese is the akita closed related to the wold cause the american is actually of mix with shepherds or something

  • what is the title of that song!? i love does akita inus.! both gawgous.!

  • hey! can akita inus leave in the philippines?

  • Roland you are incorrect. The Japanese Akita is smaller, more slender and according to JKC the black mask is unacceptable. The American Akita is actually a genetic mix of the Akita Inu and the Mastiff subgroup. This was done after World War 2 due to the small numbers of Akita Inu left as well as to the fact that compared to other popular breeds in the USA at the time the Akita Inu was undersized.

  • maerican and japenese akita are the same breed

  • @nroland99 sorry, i misspelt american

  • I am going to buy a dog in couple of days, but i am thinking over akita and akita-inu :\ i kinda like american ones coz they are bigger than akita-inus,but can some1 give me any suggestions,ty :)

  • @ShAkRaMeNtO There is three japanese akita inus in this video. American akitas are a breed aswell, this celebrates the all akita types, american, japanese akita inu and longcoat.

  • love.love.love the Akita's... all of them. have 2 shiba inu's... the smallest of the japan dogs... but one day would love to have an Akita! Gorgeous Dog.

  • questi non sono akita inu !!!

  • I LOVE MY KITA ahahahahahahah

  • i miss my Akitas now!!!!

  • I used to have an akita named Dakota..he was my best friend! He was the biggest teddy bear I ever knew :) He would sniff you first, then it would be all snuggles form there! :)

  • whay does the video says 2011 since it was posted in 2008???

  • my fav dogs are the alaskan malamute the alaskan husky the akita and the siberian husky!...oh and the doberman!

  • I loved it. But I felt uneasy when I read a sticker saying: "If it is not Akita it is not a dog"

I agree that Akitas are "The Dog" for those who love this breed, but I strongly claim that every dog, even the ugliest one, is a wonderful creature

  • hey, i am from the Philippines, is there anywhere here, that can i buy or find Akita puppy? and how much? thanks

  • I Love the japan Akita Inu!!!! I love Hachiko too ;) the dog who waited for hes dead man in 9 years ..

  • @rebelac7 sick !!! dont be so pathetic n piss off.

  • I had 2 Akitas, one was part timber wolf.... she was the best dog in the world, lived to be 17! I miss my Nani everyday and Ku'uipo too!!! Problem is I have a downs syndrome boy and wanted another Akita, but you can't get an older dog that hasn't been raised around your children, well that was my experience as she was a bit untrustworthy around him. The Akita in my heart is the best dog eva!!!

  • love this video ! and AKITA WORLD on facebook is best akita group

  • My akita died when i was in third grade :( NOW I HAVE A BOSTON TERRIER! he's so funny, but i still miss my akita.

  • this is such a cool video :3 Haha I love akitas oh and what an awesome remix would you perhaps know where I can find the full song ?? Yes I know I'm quite random lol XD

  • i hate american akita

  • @totorinrin1 I prefer the akita ino;)

  • love this video !! Akita rule best breed in the world :P

  • Yea I love the akita!!!! First I decided to got a shepdog, huskey or a wolf hybrid. But especially the wolf hybrid is hard to learn.. but as I saw an akita... I was in love with this dog! They have every thing what a dog have! Great vid!!! Favourite!

  • simplemente hermoso, muy buenas fotos

  • Yes I agree Akitas r the best dog's ever I prefer American Akitas they r and look more robust I have an American Akita he's 1 year old just he weigh's 62 klg with a massive head to match I would not have any other dog now hard work yes but the rewards out way the negatives they r hard work at times but oh what great dogs And yes there is no other dog like them once u have owned an Akita trust me u will not want any other dog.

  • First I run into my future wife and after I run into her Akita. We got married time after I understood there is something about her and her Akita so special I will never be capable to leave them girls The Akita told me so. And they agreed to tolerate me.

We lived together for 11 years. She went to Heavens last year. As we Russians say - All Dogs Go to Heavens. Except Akitas are not Dogs. They are next to us Humans.

God Bless All people who take care of our Juniors.

    regards,

    V.

  • JOIN AKITA WORLD ON FACEBOOK GUYS :)

  • american akitas are so ugly. akita inu <3

  • @ikubz no both gawgous !

  • @ikubz

inu is very beautiful but my american akita is big and beautiful..

  • @ikubz no dog is ugly

  • @ikubz Stupid comment....

  • @ikubz Agree, Americans seem to ruin dogs breeds..just look at the difference between an American bred Doberman and a European bred one

  • @Zallein093 that is the one time I like the American one better, ears standing looks much better. Amrican Akita with the right kind of mask look great but over all the Japanese one seems more pure.

  • @ikubz there is no such thing as an UGLY AKITA....American, Japanese, or long coat...they are ALL MAGNIFICENT! Their personalities (and WOW! Do they have distinctive personality traits!!)complete the "picture" of their true beauty...I know we now have two Akitas, our 4th and 5th.

  • @ikubz dude theres not that big of a difference between them

  • i acually want and akita ( : ..but i cant have one cuz i dont have the type of yard or house : ( ..but anywhoo cool videoo<3*

  • Great video, I love my Akita Kochece.

  • I mean jappy

  • Yeah happy akita all the way

  • I don't like tha fact that americans chose to breed akitas with german sheperds and so on... There are reasons why it isn't legal to breed akitas with other breeds (even the same breed with other colors). The akita is an amazing dog because of it's ancient ways. But Americans do whatever they want mostly.

  • Wow impressive pics! My Akita is just over 2 years but not nearly as beefy as some of those @ 105lbs, has a longer muzzle/narrower almost like a German shepherd

  • wunderschöne tiere echt jetz love akitas want to have one -^-^-

  • 0:16 WOOOW

  • can I BREED WITH THE AKITA AND WE WILL GET A AKITAMAN

  • how do they behave with other pets??, smaller ones.

  • @Vulturespeed

My Akita get's along great with other domestic animals, cats, dogs... kept him well socialized from puppy on up.... but he eats moles, groundhogs, snakes, rabbits and turtles when he catches them...

  • beautiful

  • Anyone know any other diffrences between american and japanese akita's other than size? :p

  • @Lemontard1 only that the american came from japan a akita was bred in america with other dogs (german shepherd) so then came the american akita but is a actually a mix from the great japanese dog (akita) with a german shepherd and also two others. plus the akita from japan where used for bearhunting

  • @Miemand well said :) join my akita group on facebook > akita world

  • @Miemand I don't think so. The American Akita has some Tosa Inu bloodlines, but im pretty sure there's no GSD in there.

  • @Miemand Your wrong about the breed being crossbred with shepards. The only difference between akita in japan and akita stateside is the markings that are considered breed standard. Part of why the japanese are so resistant to adopting the standard of the rest of the world comes from their inherently racist cultural perspective on their place in the world.

  • @CzarKrali Look up the genome of the Akita and you will see that it is a far older breed than shepards (that is AKC breed akita tha t I am speaking of.) Akita are one of the 11 so called ancient breeds. There was no crossbreeding with shepards and the breeding records of the breed stock brought over, as well as recent genetic testing attests to this. Japanese akita and US akita are the same breed,

  • @CzarKrali to claim otherwise would be like claiming that a brindle staffordshire is a different breed than a fawn colored staffordshire.

  • I love Akitas! ^O^

Next year, my female Reina, will be able to bread!

I can't wait to get some little Akita puppies! :D

  • what beauties! :-)

  • nice video, I've had several purebred dogs over the years, but I,ll be honest with you all...nothing compares to the intelligence, cunning, smarts of a Coydog, I've had 2 people stop me and ask me if it was a Shikoku..except when they saw he didnt have a curly tail..oh well! lol...My neighbor has a 130 lb beautiful Akita male..the local dogs are scared of him, my Coydog jumped him for fun and laid him on the ground..the owner was flabergasted..they are best friends now!! lol

  • Thanks of lovely video.

  • CHECK OUT MY AKITA ON MY PAGE!!!!!!!!

  • So beautiful

  • i already have 4 dogs... japanese spitz, labrador, beagle, and golden retriever...

but im still going to buy one akita maybe next week... they are so cute...

    thanks for the video...^_^

can teach me how to pet them??? because they look very lovable but the size looks dangerous... ^_^

  • i Love AkiTas. they're so unbelievebull AmaZinq!

    AkiTa iNu and EuRasian.<3

    Best dooqs!(and beautifuLst):D

  • They were originally bred for hunting and dog fighting and their ancestors were used for hunting by the matagi. bear and large game hunters,In Japan, the Akita is now used as a guard and police dog,do your research before chattin shit

  • not true,! the American Akita is breed for looks and companionship only. I have two Akitas and have seen many I see no hunting skills in these dogs, no tracking, pointing or retreving like Labs, Begals, the Hound group and others with hunting skills. I have never seen a video or read a discription of Akita hunting ever!! .

  • Bred to hunt, guard, and herd, this swift, agile, unswervingly tenacious dog tracked large game and held it at bay until the royal hunters arrived to make the kill. The Akita's quarry included elk, antelope, boar, and the 800-pound Yezo bear.

  • That has all been bred OUT of the American Akita

Pretty animal, not a working animal

    Shame

  • @indymac1967 the japanese akita was used for hunting when the world war II came they where breed in america with ohter dogs so the reel akita was then almost extinct so the akita in japan is the original. also they are the closest related to the wolfs

  • @Miemand well said :) if you have facebook , search and join my group > akita world

  • As for Dog fighting "wich is discusting" the Japanise used the Tora Inu for that, the dogs wore muzzles and gloves on there feet and scored points for contact. If you did see video showing any differint let me see it. Do "YOU'R" research before talking shit!! Assholes like you ruin the breed

  • As a guard dog, the Akita was unsurpassed in its keen senses of smell, sight, and hearing. By nature a quiet dog that barked only when threatened, the breed needed no training in its guard duties. As a herding dog, it fiercely protected livestock from savage predators in the mountainous terrain of Akita Prefecture

  • hi my name is kimberley I have 2 akita and that video was very good if u have puppies let me know

  • @scraderz20 Thats really cool i had no idea about the police dog part, how about the military?

  • yes also , google akita police dogs, millitary work etc akitas are used for all sorts of things :)

  • fuck you motherfucker akitas are one of the most loyal dogs in the world.

  • The akita at 1:39 is like the one that I want! The one that looks like a bear

  • Quem dera se eu tivesse um akita!

  • Aprende a escrever.

    "Brasileiros de Merda"

  • E caso não tenhas percebido era para ti "MrAndersonSS".

  • I have an american akita, he just turned a year old. If anyone is thinking about getting one of these GREAT dogs please, for the animals sake, do research! There are too many that get abandoned because people don't take the time to do research.

  • yeah, its mixed.

  • It's the american akita....this is not the japanese....For god's sake don't mix everything up the way u like

  • i'll have birthday in a few day's and from long time i want to have dog...i think this is the time for me to get it...

just can't wait!never seen one live, just on pics and movies...suppose when i see one puppy i'll just hug it and take it home:-DDD

  • you will adore an akita, make sure you get a full breed akita.they are Amazing dogs :)

  • Akitas are the best breed! They are super intelligent and affectionate. They shed like hell but that's why there are shop vacs. I miss my babies. R.I.P Cream and Max I love you.

  • there two different dogs all together but they are already known by different names akita inu and japanese akita. i prefer what u call american akita. much more out going and friendly plus i'm a sucker for a big dog and they are way bigger lol

  • the video is very cool...i love akita´s sooooo much <333 akita´s are the greatest dogs all over the world...sorry my english is very bad

  • your english was spot on :) lol

  • It seems these dogs have a tremendous amount of muscle packed on a medium sized frame...is this true? I was actually hoping to play tug of war with my dog (just as pass time) to develop my grip strength, pulling power and balance for my job...would these guys be a good pick?

  • medium sized frame? some akitas are huge, and generally large breed, great dogs, and very strong, put in youtube akita pulling car and it will show you :)

  • thanks for the promotion of my Akita's pulling vids!!!!!!!!

  • yeah, mine is 27" at the shoulder and 125 lbs. he is huge!!

  • never play tug wid dem!

  • NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

the rottie is the best dog lol ever lol.

no but reali i love the akita just because they can have a bad rep and then you know that with training and socialization can put that rep down by just showing there sweet side of them cudly teddys.

  • I want to get one Akita inu ( i´m from sweden) i love these dogs!

  • Im in the uk Birmingham by the way,2 boys and 1 girl, both parents here, mom is a woolie but not long long coated.photobucket TRIXSTA my akitas and theres piccys and videos.

  • American Akita AREN'T akita....the only race of akita it's the Japanese Akita, the Japan is in "war" with US for change the name of the race...

  • Wow I have been searching the net about akitas, now iam convinced that an akita will be the best pet for my family!

  • yes akitas are fantastic dogs, make sure you train them well as soon as you can and socialise them young with other people and pets and you will never look back, great dogs, loyal and caring, with a fab history too.

  • Akitas ROCK! If you are interested in Akitas, check out Woolies, or coated Akitas. It has been my experience they have a much more laid back attitude and are even better w/ children than Akitas, if that is possible. Woolies are the Akitas of Akitas and if you aren't looking to show dogs, but are just looking for a pet you can't beat a Woolie!

  • I have a Shiba Inu, and his best friend is an akita crosses with a wolf.

I want to get a shiba and Akita but akitas are so hard to find here.

  • @xl0st I have some half woolies available in feb 2010 with brilliant history,2 boys and 1 girl,I got me a blue girl out this litter!! ;-)

so loyal you wouldnt believe but as people say,if you have a family, you need a youngen, adults are fine for people with out children,so dont leave out the ones in the dogs homes!! I've learnt that even the stubborn ones can be tought but aggression to other dogs is a major problem, weve had akitas for4generations and have around16+ in the family and chows

  • nice photos

  • ehmm...? Nothing´s up to the Caucasian Ovcharka

  • I LOVE AKITAS TOO! I have 2 and they are GREAT dogs!

  • cute:) ihave this big akita max oooooooooo hes big heehee

  • Hmm, the original Akita looks a lot nicer

  • GREAT DOGS THE MOST LOYAL THERE IS

  • i love it i have an akita and hes red and big (lol) but hes a puppy and YES they are the worlds BEST breed WOOHOO XD :) heehee

  • Loved it!

  • Japanese Akita and American Akita are NOT two different breeds. They are now bieng bred to have different traits. The japanese Akita is more fox-like, and finer boned. The American Akita is more bear-like, representing the "Dewa" traits, which were found in the original Akita in Japan. I like the heavy set bear-like Akita more. But it is a matter of taste. They are all very honorable dogs.
