Yes there is a third book called Factotum. Not to sure bout the ending but I hope Cornish writes another book cause I'm hooked on these books. Seriously the library is surprised when I Don't get one of the three I know of out. Is there a 4th?

It woudl be cool if they made the movie on all three books... but I think they should make them one at a time so they can include way more in them. Cause if thy do all three at once then there going to have to leave out a ton of stuff!

I just started reading the foundling but, what does the monster blood tattoo signify...or do i find out later on through the series?

@fabeybaby3 You're probably at the part that explains it by now, but tattoos are only gotten in the Half-Continent when you kill a monster, and the only ink is that same monster's blood. Since, according to the books, it takes about 3 average men to take down even the smallest monsters, just being a part of killing a monster is something to boast about, so people wear monster-blood tattoos (cruorpunxis) with pride.

IN regards to a monsterblood movie, the following was from a D.M. Cornish website,

"Finally, Carlita has just got wind of the film deal which I can confirm as true. As of right now there is a director assigned (cannot as yet divulge names, sorry) and a writer, and some significant interest from effects companies. So no still no guarantee that it will be happening, but goodly steps closer to an eventuality."

Rossamund doesn't get a monster blood tattoo when they first see monsters in this book because he had no hand in kill the herd of monsters he was suppose to be defending the other 5 lamplighters while they reloaded and if he did attack(he had a blinding potive and a potive that sent the hells of fire upon enemies)so if he did attack there would be no monster blood at all...because the blinding one wouldn;t actially kill it and the fire one...well u get the point

I adore this book series. Every scene had amazing visual detail in my mind's eye, and it just sprung to life.

Also Cornish has a beautiful and tactful sense of humor.

Oh wait, one more thought. If they don't make a movie based on MBT, I'm going come to hand strokes with some people. And I'm not talking about the "we're capitalizing on a popular book that we think is kiddish" type movie, which is how they've done it a lot recently. I'm talking about the "We're putting in all we can to make this story shine" like they did with Lord of the Rings. That's right, I went there. This series has the potential to rival with the LORD OF THE RINGS.

that trailor was shit, i just finnished the first one today and it was well good. i like how close to our culture it is but yet how far away and unrealistic it is at the same time. altho i draw quite abit and i have to say, im not overly impressed by the illustrations, i rekon the best illustrations are from the Edge chronicles.
