This map is too big for a 4 gate dragoon rush, especially going cross-wise. By the time you get to your opponents base, you've lost whatever advantage you might have had by taking the initiative.
on the 1 hand JangBi started with the worst counter possible, 4 gate vs fast expo, however he rushed 4 gates after his expo which was cruicial. however Bisu still should have won...
however I think what lost Bisu the match was not the timing but rather JangBi's much superior Dragoon micro! even if Bisu was a few seconds faster I do think that JangBi could have still held off his natural, without full hp, sure, but he should have been able to hold it...
ZvZ's are luck dependent...Bisu did an all in build from cross positions...he and every other pro knows that if that first push fails, its an auto-gg...
Some builds give advantages over other builds but it's not necissarily an auto win. The idea is that you choose a build that is directly countered by your opponent's then you lose because of "luck". I disagree that "luck" is the correct word though. You could do a fairly safe Overpool or some such and not be terribly behind any other build so it's not just some random coin flip, your build choice a calculated risk that you're choosing to take. Blaming luck is just the easy way out.
Its a calculated gamble, but still a gamble. If i give you a 1/2 chance to win $5 or a 1/3 chance to win $20, and you take the latter and lose, it was a calculate risk. You could have played safer. But you still lost due to chance.
The truth is, with the R-P-S structure of builds, you HAVE to play non-standard, cheesy or odd builds sometimes, just to put your opponent off, just to be unpredictable.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
I was SURE Bisu had this won. He just does NOT give up an advantage like that.
I've said it before: usually when Bisu loses, it's not an ass-whoopin. But this WAS.
And why the hell was Bisu targeting the pylon??

Funny, I never get spoiled, and I never bitch.
Learn to work your computer: it's not that complicated. If you still can't figure it out, go to a middle school typing class. You may benefit.

Why is your vid streched and distorted?

It is good that you still did this one because I wondered how they ended up in the losers and final match.
PvPs are so luck factor dependent. If Jangbi didnt go for 4 gate himself he d lose the initial push. Not going for robo facility first saved him.

how is ZvZ luck dependant? I always figured it was whoever have better micro O-o
HFthegreat 2 years ago
Well if your someone like Jaedong is doesn't matter in ZvZ, but most of the builds are rock paper scissors in a sense, that would be the luck factor.
