I hate the fact that I have very little choice in whay types of engines I can choose from. So if the cars continue to be oil sucking gas using waste and poluting then let the oil companies bail thier asses out. They have the money to bail these creeps out.
U.S. Auto makers have been arrogant from long ago. Auto makers from Asia & Europe made products geared specifically for the foreign markets they sold cars in. American makers, except for Ford, until now never made cars this way. They just thought cars for Americans would be the Universal standard for the rest of the world. No wonder buyers all over the world treat US cars as shit & buy Euro & Asian cars instead. This trend is now the same in the States. They dug their own graves with arrogance.
You reap what u sow..instead of serving the people with good reliable vehicles as Honda Nissan Toyota have... CEOs are trying to get richer by approving the manufacturing using low quality parts (or cheap should I say)..poor engine designs..etc..whatever is better for their pockets... thats y most ppl would perfer a Jap car which is far more reliable than American cars.
The plan in the Senate would give automakers access to $25B in LOANS (not bailout) from the $700B Wall Street bailout program. In exchange, the government would take an ownership stake in the companies. New limits would be imposed on executive compensation, including a provision barring bonuses from executives whose salaries are higher than $250,000 until the government had been repaid for the loan. Companies receiving government loans would be prohibited from paying dividends to shareholders.
No drastic paycuts-no bailout money. These UAW workers and the inept managers all need a lesson in reality. A 40% paycut and cutting their pensions is a start. Let them live like so many Americans are forced to today.
The car companies could have easily foreseen that more efficient cars would be in demand. GM even released an electric car 12 years ago in 1996. They knew what they were doing, so we need to let failure run its course.
The auto industry bailout is another knee-jerk reaction without enough information just like Wall Street. Maybe the Auto executives will take a 700,000 vacation just like AGI did to celebrate the success of their scam to get money out of the American people just like we were conned by Wall Street. The Wall Street bailout set a presidence. Now everyone wants money.
The government gave incentives to American companies to take their business' overseas. It cost America millions of jobs. How are the companies doing overseas? Why isn't the government insisting that they sell their holdings overseas to save their companies?
The Unions are killing the auto industry. Spending Billions on pensions and insurance for people who hadn't worked for them in 20 years. It's ridiculous. They should file for bankruptcy and start with a clean slate. Instead of paying their workers $30 and hour and full benefits, they should be paid $15-20an hour with limited benefits. Like foriegn makers do. Only way to survive.
WHO GIVES, Build a better and cheaper car. Or move to a right to work state. Virginia is one, Michigan would change their tax laws and union laws real quick.
How many billions of dollars are they already recieving in Ressearch And Development ? that's not enough? GM wants a bailout to buy out Chrystler ? it's like giving money to peter to pay paul. NO!
You read my mind! Even if they do get this much undeserved bailout, they still won't sell cars, because their cars suck! Toyota, and pretty much all the japanese and german automakers seem to be doing fine because they make quality cars. Something GM knows nothing about. Fuck em. Let GM burn to the ground.
No, your statement is BS. I don't know what surverys you're looking at, but next time I suggest you put the crack pipe down before looking at them. =)
Read the fuckin front page of the detroit free press for today 11/17/08. All 3 detroit companies are equal or better than toyota, nissan, and honda in all aspects including fuel economy. they manufacture more trucks. actually know what the fuck you're talkin about before you say it. you sound like you live in ram-it-in-the-ass california. Go back to your 11th grade economics class and quit acting like you know what you're talkin about
Come on, you have to be smarter than that. According to J.D. Power and Forbes among others, for 2008 alone GM has the highest quality rating of any cars in the catergory of Mid Size and Full Size (Chevy Malibu and Pontiac Grand Prix)
Well, I was going to assume you were a moron with an abundance of air in your head, but I'm going to have to school you on this. You must be smoking a lot of rocks if you looked at JD Power's rating and come out spewing complete BULLSHIT about GM having the highest quality. ha ha ha I'm currently looking at their ratings and the top 5 cars are all Japanese and German. Porsche being number 1. So please put down the crack pipe prior viewing/typing anything on the web.
Ok dooshbag. Its obvious that you are just trolling because nobody is that naturally stupid. You were embarrassed so you have to comeback with immature drivel. Not once did I say GM had the highest quality overall, even though 7 of 17 quality categories are lead by the Big 3. But rather pointed out two ex's where GM had the highest quality vehicle in a catergory (Malibu & GP). Here are some facts about American Car Quality straight from J.D. Power, with links. Obviously you didnt look up sh!t.
You're still yapping?! I was done with you. I already looked up JD power, that's where I get MY info from. You degenerate. In the top 10 cars, only one of them was american. You are looking at the wrong ratings. This will be my last comment.
No, and no. That makes no sense. Even I can think of a better diss for my own username loser. I kicked ass on this section. The reason why you think I'm getting owned is because you don't know anything about the auto industry. If you honestly believe that GM (general morons) are at the top of the game, then you have major mental flaws. I guess when they say Americans are the dumbest people on this planet, its true. And it shines right here, in this comment section.
