The most amazing thing about Gegard and Shogun and Fedor is how they will punch with such force and accuracy and the moment the opponent is knocked out, they will have the compassion to stop punching themselves before the ref can even get to them!
Whats awsome about watching Mousasi fight is that he usually punches the crap out of his opponent and puts the fight away in the first round. And it's hilarious how calm he always is, like he knows he's the best.
Armenians are talented people, too bad the Turks have massacred 1.5 of our civilians including defenseless women and children. We would have more talents in the world if it wasn't for Genocide
@ArmenianNetwork Turks have a reputation of ethnic cleansing, but no superpower cares unless those being murdered have oil in their lands or are of strategic importance to said power. Kuwait, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Egypt and Saudi Arabia come to mind... I'm depressed now
I think BABALU is a cool looking man ...pause... no homo & hes tough & has fought way better competition than this MOUSASI dude. I am pretty sure MOUSASI will finally get his first TKO/KO loss soon
@MrChuggernaut fuck out of here on him not being a top 3 light heavy! titles held Dream Light Heavyweight champion, Dream Middleweight Champion, Cage Warriors Middleweight Champion Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion.. wins over damn good opponents Hector Lombard, Evangelista Santos, Dennis Kang, Sokoudjou, Melvin Manhoef, Ronaldo Souza, Mark Hunt,Gary Goodridge and Renato Sobral. tired of corny hicks who only watch UFC and not pay attention to the rest of the MMA world, past or present.
Gegard is great! He will fight in the UFC. Personally, I am not a big fan of the UFC, but they have great LHWs. Shogun, Machida, Rampage, Rashad and few others will all be great competition for Mousasi and I think after he gets his Strikeforce belt back, Dana White will be sure to offer him a contract. Personally, I reckon Gegard is a Top 5 Light Heavyweight when he's on his game and 90% of the time he is. He has world class striking and his ground game is as impressive as anyone else's! :)
No doubt he is a proud Armenian but he had his amateur boxing career in the netherlands. He never even lived in Armenia because he lived in Iran and moved to the Netherlands when he was 4 years old, so commenter: Get your facts straight!
i'm an mma fan in general no matter what organization! but Mousasi can't be considered one of "the best" till he fights some of the best which do happen to be in the ufc
@SamuraixJack anything about mma you wanna talk about then talk.i'm an educated fan and practitioner so please bring on any topic and we'll discuss it like men instead of you being a child and throwing around infantile name calling!!
@SamuraixJack if i said he was easily defeatable i apologise but here's the deal, when you're fighting in "inferior" organisations to the ufc then the old saying "you can't be the man if you don't beat the man" is true.i wouldn't class beating babalu as a major accomplishment, hendo smashed babalu too but got owned by shields.i as an amateur will never say a fighter is shit because they are where they are for a reason but mousasi is a top 10 fighter right now at best unless he beats a big name.
@rampagecarl But see thats the thing. your saying " Inferior" based on the ufc being the best, when most ufc guys who leave go and get their butts kicked in other organizations. i agree with you saying mousasi is top 10.
@SamuraixJack for mousasi's weight division i'd say the ufc by far has the most talented pool of fighters...shogun,rampage,machida,jon jones, and so on.the same was said of pride in it's day but when the "best" of pride came to the ufc they didn't fare to well either (wandy, hendo, kang, nog, lil nog etc) i'm not a ufc nuthugger i just accept they are the big dogs at the moment.
@rampagecarl I'd say they did pretty well considering the fact that they had to adjust to a whole a new style of fighting, a fight in Pride and a fight in the UFC r 2 totally different fights, ones in a cage and favors wrestlers and ones in a ring which favors strikers, if the UFC fighters had to come over to Pride they would've been dominated even worst, Shogun, Rampage, Henderson, and Anderson Silva all held there own in the UFC pretty well. Besides for Shogun none them have been Knocked out!
@rampagecarl Dan Henderson was not owned by Sheilds, he was taken down and dry humped for the whole fight. That fight sucked dick, in my eyes if you hold someone down for 5 rds and do no damage u didn't win the fight.
@tfrenn it may of sucked dick but your opinion has no bearing on the actual result and it was unanimous for shields, i personally cannot stand shields he's sa boring if not more so than gsp!
@papichulobumber1 Naw, not me. I like the fighters who beat there opponents as viciously as possible before the ref can move in. It shows that they are there to fight, a attribute that, in my opinion, is far more important for a professional mixed martial artist to have than emotion control.
@TGUNZ562 They're there to fight, not to injure their opponent in the most brutal way possible. There is no benefit in viciously beating an opponent who is beyond the ability to fight back. As this is a sport, emotional and physical control are far more valuable and respectable attributes than blunt aggression. Unless you're an angry asshole who glorifies violence.
psychos with skills could do quite well in the fightgame .But i just like that lay back attitude towards a fight Mousasi has. It has something superior to stand in front of a dude with fire in his eyes, who wants to kill you. While you stay totally relax with a friendly smile on your face.

I don't see why people are raving about this knock out so much.
Mousasi got a very sloppy take down, Babalu almost pulled out of his side control and then he managed to land some fairly insignificant punches. (Considering the amount and the accuracy, the damage was fairly minimal).
I'm not doubting Mousasi as a fighter, he's very capable, but this is not his best performance.
Babalu almost pulled out but he didn.`t .Sloppy take down, but a takedown nevertheless.Fairly significant punches?.I would say very significant, was he not out?.And faily minimal? damage?.Was not the fight stopped?. Not his best performance?. Mousasi was done with Babalu in the first round.Nuf said.
he beat a fighter of sobrals caliber in 1 minute without taking any damge. Are you stupid. That take down looks easy but you have to be really good to pull it off because it takes precise timing and quick thinking to pull it off. You can't just pull off a knee pick its not that easy.
that combo mousasi put him out with was a lightning fast barrage of punches....so accurate that every single one landed too and he knew exactly when he was out. this guy is the REAL DEAL. watch out light heavy weight divisino.
mousasi got $2,000 for this fight...no bonus for the win or the ko...this is fucked up...
how can strikeforce be so CHEAP???
how do u expect a pedigree mma fighter like mousasi to make a living at $2,000? it's not even going to cover his plane ticket to japan for the october 6th, dream 11 tournament.
strikeforce is going to lose this guy, when the ufc starts showing mousasi the money...
Mousasi actually received close to $100k for this fight, but they paid it through M-1, so it's not on the disclosed payroll. Obviously, he would never accept $2k considering he has been earning $50k+ per fightt in Japan, and decided to compete in Strikeforce instead.
Dude, Mousasi is the next big thing. Watch out Anderson and Machida/Rua; when the UFC signs this guy, he's going to win the Middle and Light Heavyweight titles; mark my words!
Guys! I just found out, that Fedor has another special power. Besides being a Russian secret project he also turn fighters to the Cyborgs.. honestly. It's like X-man stuff lol just look how calm and perfect Gegard is. it's just unreal.
what the fuck was so impressive i mean yeah he beat sobral but holy shit people think he could fight machida or anderson silva? give me a fucking break people...
i think babalu will go back and train hard, and go back to a couple of wins and face mousasi again....if he remains champ. mousasi was the better fighter that night.
I agree with you but i'd have to say Lyoto is my favorite after Anderson since you can count him, but them two are next then Wandi from what he did in pride

i think babalu will go back and train hard, and go back to a couple of wins and face mousasi again....if he remains champ. mousasi was the better fighter that night.
