Exceedingly ENVIABLE playing. I cannot understand how he can play like that and look at the score, too. Yes, the initial theme in the pedal could use a bit more prominence. The last few pages of the fugue have to be some of the most exciting moments in music!!!! Again, an EXCELLENT performance.
Philippe Delacour's playing of this piece is the best out of any I have seen/heard on here. Most are too slow, and the organists seem to be afraid of pulling out stops in the fugue. Masterful!
This performance is superb! There is an effortlessly controlled flow of excitement. I rather prefer the urgent tempo. The organ and acoustics are perfect. How could Dupre have composed such a wondrous work? It must have been a gift from God.
I LOVE this prelude. The melody is so haunting. And the fugue is positively one of the wildest I know! I heard this played on my university's Moeller organ and it's fantastic.
I really love this performance! Fortunately for us, Delacour did not miss the second last chord! I wonder how it would have sounded if he had played an H instead of C! haha:)
Fantastic - really wonderful. Is it the Bourdon or the Flûte allemande in the middle section? Really fantastically haunting sound. Thanks so much for posting this!
Wow, grandioso!
I liked it.... nice playing. Needed more articulation in that spacious room with the reverb time. Or else all the audience will hear is just so muddy.
Sir, You are one of the wonders of the world. Magnifique!

I wonder what tuning was used for this organ? Certainly not close to A 440?

WOW!
Fugue a little too fast.
Still wonderful.
Philippe Delacour makes this very difficult work sound and look easy.
Hope he will tour the US.
But do we organs in live acoustics worthy of him?

Veramente bellissimo!
Grazie.
