  • @mtomic30 bomb jack

  • Love The Music!!!...

  • Some these were unplayable rubbish. Some are un-paralleled still in 2011 for playability and originality . Long live the 64, I feel guilty now for getting an Amiga

  • 1:20 almost like 3d :)

  • if you ask me how the hell i knew about horror movies in that age well cuz my brother was always watching them and i peeked sometimes and i saw one scene in the movie de lift on dutch or the lift on english and there is scene where dead body jumps from elevator and kills that guy ..... from that scene i created game i had imagination ^_^

  • and yeah i want to say this cuz i will never forget i created one game when i was 10 years old it was horror game i made program and data for every character and movements, i created one elevator and everytime u come to that elevator monster jumps on you and the point of my game was how to kill him i made some ideas that u need to pull some plug and pick up like stick to kill that monster, and put it time and when i finished game i tested and saved on C64 datasette, it never loaded i was so sad

  • i was creating games when i was kid on commodore 64 like arkanoid i was doing programs to 5000 print" ..... now i dont know shit about how to do it i forgot :)

  • I loved my C64 and C128 There was only compuserve back then

  • Brilliant video! Kicking tunes too lol. Nice one!

  • So much brain activity in these games back then :D

games today allmost play em self

  • is the fourth entry name correct? I searched for alleykat and it looks completely different.

  • @Alianger You're thinking of Alley Cat, not Alleykat, which was a PC game that began with you controlling a cat jumping on dustbins in an alley. Actually, if memory serves, it was originally written for the Atari but the awful CGA purple and cyan PC version is better known.

  • @commodoreguy64 Yeah my bad, just a little reading mistake on my part late in the evening/early in the morning :) And thanks for the vid, really helps finding those hidden gems for a newcomer to the C64 like me.

  • i played onace a commodore 64 game and i'm trying to find it can someone help me.

itstarted with you and an old man locket inide a dungeon and in your room there was a rock and a plate of food and you only had acces to the next room where there was a lit candle.. does anyone know what game am i talking about ?

  • 200 games and no Lotus challenge, Swiv, Pang or Rolands?

  • 0:44 Un clásico.

  • what the name of the music, you are using in this viedeo ?........................greetings from Poland

  • @cliverto That's a repackage of WinVice 2.2 with games which is not, strictly speaking, legal.

  • I'm trying to find a C64 game I think, it had a wizard and you had to travel through time. The first level you started in his house and to had to get wood to light the fire place to activate the machine or something. Does anyone happen to know what I am talking about if I haven't confused anyone. :P

  • @Shodian I love helping people try to figure out long lost games. I just helped somebody figure out a game they were looking for "Mikie". Can you give me a little more information? Anything? Is it a platform game, shoot'er, is it an Adventure game? Is it more graphic/text based, like where you "type in" commands? Or more arcade type? Describe anything else you can. I most likely have it & or can tell you where to get it. So far, the game you describe sounds like a graphic RPG/Text based

  • @gjc82071 Hey. Would you/anyone happen to know a c64 game (really vague memory), possibly a part platformer, where you at one point control what looks like a girl and she enters or can go into a what appears like a school class room or something and there's this really great memorable music as far as I can remember. I'd really want to hear the music again but this is all I remember about the game :(

  • @fourbarposer Describe it a little more? The only C64 platform game that I know of that takes place in a school classroom, is "Mikie". Mikie is a boy though, but the semi-long blond hair, could kinda look like a girl I guess. A teacher is chasing you & there are desks in the classroom. The music is "Hard Day's Night" by the Beatles. Is that it? Search Youtube for "Mikie C64" & let me know. Would be funny if that's the game. Last week somebody else was looking for the same exact game LOL!

  • @gjc82071 Like said memory is really vague on it, but really can there be two so similar games so I suppose it must've been that. I have to say I'm bit disappointed that it's not some great unknown track... lol. Those things that look like flying lips seem familiar so really it has to be that. Thanks :-)

btw Anyone have a C64 music player app that played various Beatles songs? I had one but didn't find it when I last poured through the floppies.

  • @gjc82071 do you think you could help me figure a game out that I know my cousin used to play all the time on the 64? it was this little brown guy, he was shaped as a little peanut or something of that sort. I remember there being alot of ice around and he slid down things. If he slid down he would die sometimes and you would see a little skeleton appear. Sorry that is all I can remember but I have to know what it was. It was an adventure game is that's of any help. Thank you

  • I'd love to try & help. I've 20,000+ C64 games/played 1,000's of them. All I can think of with lots of ice (but no peanut) is " Matterhorn Screamer". Do you remember anything more? Can you tell me, is it a single screen platform game, (1 board @ a time, like Donkey Kong) or multi/scrolling-screen (like Super Mario Brothers)? If you check @ gamebase64. com, they list every game + a screen shot & you can search the database by gaming genre. Something may jog your memory. I'll B looking 2!

  • Back then they had poor graphics and designers tried to repay it with awesome gameplay, nowadays games have poor gameplay but designers try to repay it with uber cool graphics more realistic than reality lol

  • @Tasaq313 totally agree. I have lost interest in modern games, the desire to play the game again and again has dwindled.

  • @Espie1979 Lost interest in "modern games"? Me too, for the most part. What about vintage/classic games though? C64, Atari, classic arcade games, etc. I LOVE retro-gaming. I have consistently been searching Youtube classic gaming channels, got potential retro gaming players/buddies. I must admit, I've had little luck. A few "yea, OK!, Sure!'"'s, here & there, that unfortunately that never materialize. Here goes. Think you might be interested in some online retro gaming? let me know. :-)

  • @1:00

    Just Cause!!! lol jk

  • naargh... how u can let loose @ c.... dubstep 2010

  • I'm trying to find this one Commodore 64 game. I remember my dad and brother playing it when I was about 4 years old. All I remember about it was that when you died you woke up in this house, I remember you had to find tools to cut bushes so you can get to certain places, you climbed latters to get to some places. I remember a cave with an old man or woman in it. If some one can identify this game please please please let me know! Thank you!

  • Great list but missing Silkworm and Beyond the Ice Palace

  • does any 1 remember the c64 game ''Rags to Riches'' ? lol

  • Spindizzy! Spell of Destruction! Uridium!

  • Some games I have played that I have not seen yet on here. Q-Bopper (Qbert clone), Super Zaxxon, Pole Position, Omega Race, and Summer Games. I also played some carnival pinball game, but I can't remember the name of it. Used the paddles.

  • @strunway

There was a few 3d games in the c64.

  • 200 games now and still some of my favorties are missing, like "Steel Tunder" oder "Star Fleet I" ;)

  • Terramex! Without this video I never would have tracked that game down. Cheers mon ami!

  • think I've played 80% of these games... Very good memories! I love you C64!

  • on 8:21 they have street fighter? wow!!! what a shit load of fuck!!!! i thought it was an arcade original....

  • It is was an arcade original, all the other platforms were cloned afterwards. Hell there's even a ZX spectrum version.

  • @commodoreguy64 Oh specy users can just fuck right off !

  • @oliverguz777

    i even have c64 street fighter 1

    lol

  • Good vid but laffer35 vids are better

  • Just shows how big the C64 was, I had over 150 games and didn't recognise most of the clips in this video.

  • forefather of video games!

  • thats an awsome tune btw

  • nice vid, brings back some great memories. good music to boot also!

  • what's the neame of the game at 2:33?

  • Great compilation. The only ones we had were at 5:56 and 6:02 (can't remember their names) and we had cops and robbers. Many hours of endless fun, we thought that games could not get any better then this at the time, LOL.

  • They're Outrun Europa and Paperboy. Used to play Paperboy so much although I've realised now it's a pretty broken game.

  • Thanks. We played cops and robbers more then the others and I think we played it so much it pretty much wore it out as well, LOL.

  • Where was "Sword of fargol, Beach head and The last V8"??

  • 8:04 ?

  • Anyone recognize this C64 game: you played as as a green creature that ran through a forest fast while bobbing his head. You had to avoid obstacles and if memory serves correct, your head got lobbed off if it touched something.

  • still no Buffalo Bill? and no strip poker?:D

  • what is that at 0,38 i played before dont remember

  • 720 Degrees

  • Tony Hawk Pro Scater 3

  • LOL

  • Sorry

Tony Hawk Pro Scater 4 (Underground)....

  • back in '02 i must've been the only 14 year old who knew what a commodore 64 was, man lot of kids my age were missing out, still now hardly any of them know what it is.

  • I always knew "Scarabaeus" as "Invaders of the Lost Tomb."

  • Visit my channel for the largest collection of c64/amiga music on youtube!

  • cool vid

  • Hey, great job! I made a similiar one today dedicated to some games of 1985 but only squeezed in 20 games DOH

  • Cabal = friggin Blood Brothers!!

  • Yep, although Blood Bros. was an arcade only game - as far as I know; it was the same company (Tad) and the same engine that Cabal used except with western graphics.

The C64 port was also developed by Tad.

  • game @ 1:35 pls can u name the title? it was released pc version later on, please let me know

  • The game is Championship Sprint, the sequel to Super Sprint. There have been many, many clones but no official Sprint game was released on the PC.

  • ty :)

  • I just don't understand why people are talking about these games in the past tense...

  • HISTORY!!! Simply amazing! =)

  • 5:00 whats the deal with the gradius/nemesis music???

Has nothing to do with c64

  • Nemesis was released on the c64 as "nemesis" and was a straight gradius port the same as the amstrad cpc464 and the spectrum .. though to be honest the spectrum 128k had the better music, (amstrad had the better game) Would never have made it onto the remix 64 website if it hadn't of been released as a sid.. and I should know I was the guy that remixed and submitted it :-)

  • Ta Infy. Saved me a bit of typing there. :)

  • this sucks...i cant remember the name of this game i used to play on C64 and i havnt seen a clip of it on any of these vids...AHHHHHHH

  • oh yeah ...thanks a lot!

  • What a Nintendo wannabe! Especially Great Giana Sisters!

  • not true! of course good games like mario are bound to be copied.

But C64 will always mean more to me:

demos, music, sharing games and programming

plus: waiting 5 minutes for a game to load. :-)

  • Yep, not true at all. The C64 was released in 1982. The Nintendo entertainment system was released in 1983.

However Giana sisters was a straight Mario clone and it made Nintendo pretty unhappy. The publisher had to stop sales almost as soon as it was released.

  • AWSOME!

  • AWSOME!

  • please man the name of the game at 4:20...I used to play it when I was a little boy...Thanks 5 stars for you

  • @catodicii its called harrier attack, look in the the video description

  • Thanks!!! I've been searching for many of these games for years :)

  • They really made lots of games for Commodore 64

  • great! It took about an hour of work, and two pages of programming in BASIC just to create a SPRITE,size of a cursor!

  • @projekativer thats why if you had any sense you learned assembler .. and it also free'd up memory as :)

  • ohh look every second of my youth....

  • Bringing back the memories! Fantastic. Thank you!

  • haha crazy comets....how long since I have played THAT one....

great man....keep 'em coming those old school videos....!!!

  • HYSTERIA...also forgotten about that one....OMG thank you so much for posting this!!

  • Glad you enjoyed it :)

Eventually I'll post the next one but it's been lurking partially complete on my disk for almost a year now :S

  • would be much better if they told you the names. Pointless without it

  • oh wait there it is. still would be nice in the vid

  • What's the 6th game in this clip called - where the character morphs into the suit of armour. . . God, this is going to annoy me so much. Anyone?

  • The Sacred Armour of Antiriad, incidently the list's on the right.

  • what memeories thank you...and the music was awesome too..recognised a few tunes...remixed of course...

  • I actually miss the days of being a kid playing on the old C64. Then I'd go on holiday and play in the arcades. I almost kinda wish I could go back. That old retro vibe was the coolest!

  • Anyone know the name of an early C64 game that was 2 player and the players ran through a maze looking for a key and dropping little crosses on the ground to block skeletons. The crosses faded after a few seconds and let the skeletons free.

I remember playing this as a wee tot and the name was too hard to say, so we simply dubbed the game: "Skeletons" :)

I'm pretty sure it was a cartridge.

  • That's Realm of Impossibility. Great game!

  • Love the vids, you've put a lot of work into it. Sadly I dont recognize too many, I had C64 with tape drive...early shit.

  • one thing amazed me - death knights of krynn looks WAY better than feeble pc version!

  • Having played both recently I must say I prefer the 64 version. Even today it's still a good game in it's own right. The PC version is... clunky.

  • FAV! thanks!

  • cool music !! ........what is it?? These games were quick to play non of this reading instructions for 10 minutes like the new games! Just the best still. ;-)

  • what is the name of the game? 2 min 20 sec?

  • przeciumek, click MORE INFO on the left...

  • MORE INFO on the rigt :)

  • you're right..on the..right ,hheh, my bad, lol.

  • Ahh Slicks, my favourite C64 game ever! My 2nd favourite was Treble Champions, a football manager game. Anyone know where I can get that online? I've got it on tape but don't want to ruin it by overplaying it!

  • Sniff. I feel old...

    Thanks for the awesome video!

  • old age creeps up on you! I am only 28 but sometimes it feels like the last ten years just went by way too quickly..

  • Ready

  • Do you guys remember game... (guy and 2 cows on the cover) some sort of rpg game.. where you had to walk around the forest and steal items from different people (old granny *witch*) and she was turning her face back so you could steal it... at some part you also could enter a city... and steal things from guards... The whole game enviroment was like 50% black....

  • there goes my early youth XD great games, great times =D

  • Thx

  • Can someone tell me what is the name of the game at 1:50.

  • Creatures :D

  • What game is it @1:24 ?

  • Captain Blood. It had a complete language, called Bloodian, invented especially for it. The Atari ST version featured spoken Bloodian which was possible to hear and understand.

  • Mmmm... I think you're talking about the game @1:27 I'm looking for the previous one! :-)

(by the way I've found it: CABAL! :-)

  • what's the driving game at 7:00

  • It's Deliverance, the sequel to Stormlord.

    You're probably thinking of Stormlord.

  • dudes, try to find a game called bulldog. some spacecrafts. it's got the best techno music!!

  • Yeah - it's the game at 1:07. There's some good remixes of it's music on remix kwed org again too.

  • found the remixes, however, i'd like to find/hear the original too. do you have any suggestions?

  • You can find those on remix kwed org also. Click the picture of the chip next to the remix (link name [SID]).

You'll need SidAmp or Sidplay to listen to it though.

  • Click on "more info" follow the link to remix kwed org. Search for "nemesis". Click on the result "Nemesis (easter island mix)".

Out of interest Nemesis was better known as Gradius.

  • Thanks for this video!!

    I hope "Another 100 commodore 64 games part 3"

    Greetings from spain

  • I've compiled a list of about 140 more games which haven't been covered by me or laffer35 (and are well known). One day I'll create another '100' video but it's one hell of a tedious.

  • the old games ownes:P

  • Some Great games here when the era of gaming began:spectrum+Atari then C64 then the consoles etc..The games were not about graphics but about innovation experimentation and imagination things that you rarely find nowdays.

And Yes that is Wizardry at 9:50 i finished it with 2 friends of mine watching at a friends house after many days time of learning,he opened up a Bottle of shampain from his grandmothers likers to Celebrate that we finished it !!!
