  • For American audiences, the first sixty-two seconds is real song content and the rest is filler for running credits or background. I'm sure the lyrics in the filler segment mean something but, without captions, it is filler.

  • @InfiniteMushroom "without captions, its not an actual song!" Well said, 'Merican.

  • I´m in Love with both the Movie n` the Music specially the Music :)

  • Ok, sure you're allowed to have your opinion here, but can we please put aside politics and listen to some decent music?

  • Love the song

  • Салют отцам и нашим дедам - Заветам их всегда верны. Теперь ничто не остановит Победный шаг родной страны! Ты плыви, плыви бесстрашно, Гордость северных морей, Революции надежда, Сгусток веры всех людей.

  • @OTAROK

Thanks for sharing this information....I was able to translate!

  • @OTAROK

Угу.... а фильм то о предательстве.... увы !

  • I don't care about ideologies or politics. This is a great song, incredibly powerfull and beautiful. It grasps and communicates a deep and overwhelming sentiment.

  • what do americans sound lke to russians?

  • This ain't russian pronunciation. Guys sing with latvian or estonian accent. :)

  • @thekibizoid It actually looks like Americans singing Russian words.

  • @thekibizoid so what?....there is no rule that members of RED ARMY CHOIR must be russians........and Red Army was their army too....:)

  • @stephan40683 Damn true. :)

  • @thekibizoid

    thats right, accent is hard.....

  • @thekibizoid I know Sean Connery played a Lithuanian.

  • @thekibizoid This is why it's great to be an ignorant American. We wouldn't know if the accent was Russian, Latvian, or if a bunch of Arabs were faking it. It SOUNDS Russian to us!

  • lol...it says that the song is "Perfect IT" by A-Lusion, just because he used parts of it. xD

  • You shouldn't be worrying about what ideology is better, because when it comes down to it, it depends on the person running the country and how well they do so in accordance with its census opinion that determines how justified any particular way of doing things is. Just as America has (and may still) had bad leadership, so too has Russia, and China and ANY country, regardless of of political ideology. Just keep in mind, it is not the system, but the people running it.

  • The soviet union kind of made some things up as they went along...during stalins time it wasnt even a communist nation..it was a totaltarian dictatorship, he just labled them being one...when he was out, they still wernt complete socialist by the book they made alot of shit up it wasnt the type that democratic socialists in the u.s pictured...not having a group of people calling all the shots like they did in the ussr..but we need socialism in the u.s...its for the better

  • @TheVenturino123 Long live communist Germany and long live communist USSA

  • @TheKasier410 Germany is not a communist state, never was...yeah we can use some socialism in the u.s..capitalism causes oligarchy and corporatism

  • What i hate about sharing my political views to people saying I'm a socialist is that people right away hear the word "socialism" and they picture Stalin, soviet union, tyranny, brutal govnt's etc...it pisses me off...Socialism does not represent that...if you follow socialism properly it is a good nation...I beleive in DEMOCRACY...that dosnt mean you cant have a democracy with a socialist economic system...It's to help the people..have regulations over corporations and banks, healthcare for all

  • @TheVenturino123 sorry but DEMOCRACY SUCKE!!!!!!!!! corporations IN DEMOCRACY is too hight people are too greedy they whant more and more 4 people hawe 4,5 trillion money!!!!!!!!! and these four control the whole world. Democracy is a great looking hole in the system that individuals can enrich and others are modern slaves

  • and do not forget democracy will collapse!!

  • and you know why?? because the foundation is bad idea at all as good as the systems only problem is that people want more money and more Bordeaux metropolitan and therefore each system is doomed to failure!

  • @Lordwolf1985 sorry but your incorrect, democracy is not the issue, it is capitalism....you dont know what your saying...lol

  • @TheVenturino123 I think democracy IS the issue. Why would anyone want to live in a country where rule is decided not by the most able, but by whoever the majority want? Just because the mob wants something does not make it right.

  • @aleronstube ...boy oh boy you are a confused one..ill get back to you later I cant lecture you at the moment

  • @TheVenturino123 Confused? No. You're a troll, and I have no interest in your reply. ^^; Kthxbai.

  • @aleronstube troll? lol riiight....interested or not ill lecture you anyways...So about the "able" ruling...OOHH so the corporations and banks that run this nation, the ones who you think "cares" about us...are you drunk? look at this history, economic crises of 1890's, 1930's, 1970's, 2008...all of this was b/c of no regulation on the top % of the wealth and banks (the ones you think are the "able")..yeah they sure are abled, able to screw this nation up like they have been...dumbass

  • @TheVenturino123 Ah, sorry about the troll comment, I thought you were someone else. To the topic at hand! Since when did I say the banks and corporations care about ‘us’?

  • @TheVenturino123 No, I’m not drunk, because I never said that. I don’t know why you’re talking about economy with me, when I was talking about politics.

  • @TheVenturino123 The political system is the one that fails to regulate, or overregulates, not the economy. It’s your government that is the problem.

  • @aleronstube oh well if you didnt know, THOSE are the ones really calling the shots in the u.s...and this is what i mean by capitalism...it gives the wealth the advantage (influence in u.s govnt)

  • @TheVenturino123 And they call the shots because of democracy giving them that power. Capitalism doesn't work, but it's caused by democracy.

  • @aleronstube not b/c of democracy, b/c of capitalism...the social system economically gives them that advantage...you can have a socialist system and still be a DEMOCRACY

  • @TheVenturino123 You're ignoring my point, which is that democracy has caused these problems. There are better systems that have no capitalism or voting

  • @aleronstube if you dont like democracy and dont beleive in freedom, i cant debate u anymore b/c itll go nowhere...you beleive in tyranny, i beleive in freedom..but i dont beleive in capitalism

  • @TheVenturino123 I don't believe in tyranny. Democracy is tyranny. Letting the majority rule is tyranny. Democracy is not freedom, it can take just as much as it can give.

  • @aleronstube wellll ya, people want freedom, democracy IS freedom, but yes the system could get corrupt, just liek any other system you can possibly think of...its the matter of it being run right

  • @TheVenturino123 Freedom gives the individual the right to be free. Democracy takes away this right and gives it to the majority. Democracy is NOT freedom.

  • @TheVenturino123 Also freedom itself is amoral, it is neither good nor bad. Is freedom of speech good? How much? The freedom to slander? Is the freedom to kill okay? It's a freedom.

  • @aleronstube haha now your talking like the old timers...once again, you didnt know that feedom of speech is LIMITED...you cant talk about killing, overthrow govnt, kidnapping, etc...so there you go

  • @TheVenturino123 So... You think it's bad if people are not allowed to talk about killing, treason, and kidnapping?

  • @aleronstube no i do not...i beleive in limits on freedom of speech...if you wana protest a war or abortion or something like that, thats fine...but speaking about killing and threatning etc is bad

  • @TheVenturino123 You should PM me, I can't deal with this character limit thing. Rockefellers and Feds are not educated, they are idiots.

  • @aleronstube "If you want to change human behavior in a fundamental way - you must change the social system" - Karl Marx

  • @TheVenturino123 Marxism doesn't work. Nor does communism, democracy, socialism, or capitalism.

  • @aleronstube yeah my ass....you wouldnt know for sure about socialism b/c it has never been in full use...the ussr dosnt count b/c they pretty much made up their own shit as time went along...they never followed it the was democratic socialists in the u.s would..oh btw, about educated people...Larry summers is involved in what ive been telling you...your telling me summers isnt educated????? huh? lets hear it

  • @TheVenturino123 If it worked, it would have been in full use by now. The systems I propose have been in use, and where they were in use they worked. Larry Summers has a very limited education, he was educated in the USA, a country renowned for having a poor education system. He was appointed by a vote, rather than due to intelligence.

  • @aleronstube Oh really..Manarchy has been good? People have been oppressed, peoples lives were at steak b/c of a single man...your so silly

  • @TheVenturino123 You confuse monarchy with aristocracy.

  • @aleronstube umm no i dont...aristocracy is when ruled by a few elite citizens...monarchy is a king or queen...besides...dont you beleive in "rule by the superiors"? thats aristocracy anyways....

  • @TheVenturino123 Not quite. Benevolent monarchy requires more than just a 'king or a queen', it requires a noble king or queen. Hence the title itself being one of nobility. You should study Plato's work on the subject, it's quite extensive.

  • @aleronstube Oh well thats all we need right now...we need nobles running nations...well you got what you want b/c thats what is going on in the power nations today..nobles (wealth) running the nations...infact it is more like 'oligarchy' today b/c there is more than 1...so what you want is close...not monarchy, but oligarchy

  • @TheVenturino123 That is a foolish statement. You obviously do not understand what nobility is. It has nothing to do with wealth. Oligarchy, wow, please study Platos work to understand what that means.

  • @aleronstube oh so your influenced by plato..a man who beleived in slavery as well..sorry but in this day and age..you will never get those kind of nobles...and the chances of anything that has to do with plato or aristotle will be in effect in any govnt

  • @TheVenturino123 Slavery? Right. Where did you hear that? Saying "it will never happen" is a fallacy. It already has happened in some areas, and oh look, they have no crime or corruption.

  • @aleronstube where did I hear that?? LOL "economic and social thought" class...thats where...and name the countriess that your talking about that have it if true

  • @TheVenturino123 I'm done here. You're either a troll, or too uneducated to hold my interest. Goodbye.

  • @aleronstube Also, there is NO such ideal that can possibly stop crime...crime is part of humanity....another example of how full of shit you really are...trying to tell me that your idea of a social system can stop all corruption and crime...yeah and than you woke up finally...get out of dream planet...your on earth now.

  • @TheVenturino123 I'm too mature to engage in primitive mud-slinging. Perhaps the fact I don't resort in kind should tell you that I'm not living on a dream planet. ^_^

  • @TheVenturino123 first off, I agree with you - second, Wait! somebody on the internet is wrong! xD

  • @ingehacktack yup and that somebody aint me xD

  • Comment removed

  • @aleronstube also..mob? what mob? what mob rules the u.s? I am talking about today, not the 1760's-70's with the colonies owned by the brits...the people do not call the shots directly you idiot

  • @TheVenturino123 The majority, mob is a derogative term for a majority. The people do not rule, the majority of the people do. Individuals and truth have no place in a democracy.

  • @aleronstube False, the majority does NOT rule, your talking like a conservative...today the MINORITY rules...the wealth...they are the power in this nation right now..get it right

  • @TheVenturino123 Yet they are put in power by the majority.

  • @aleronstube nope, they are put in power by the govnt b/c of the their influence, the majority never appointed the federal reserve..all these shots are caled without the people having nay involvement

  • @TheVenturino123 And you think 'the people' can do better? The majority of a country can do better than the failed Fed? You'd have something even worse.

  • @aleronstube oh well gee dude by the way it sounds either way we may have some type of problems...so tell me, what exactly do you beleive in? get specific? stalinism? fascism? just say it

  • @TheVenturino123 Monarchy, Meritocracy, take your pick. There are plenty of better systems. (are you getting a 183 character limit on your comments as well?)

  • @aleronstube yes im gettin it too....well beleive in 1 man rule all you want man, it aint never happening..never will...I beleive in a democracy with a socialist economic system..not capitalism

  • @TheVenturino123 I was saying that true freedom can't exist, and democracy is not it. Monarchy is far superior, and meritocracy is the best way of making decisions.

  • @aleronstube tell me this, you think educated people cant corrupt systems? educated people are the ones fucking up the systems for their own gains...and your saying they should run the show...oh boy

  • @TheVenturino123 Bankers are not educated, the Fed are not educated. Do you think a majority are not corrupt? They are, and this has been proven time and time again.

  • @aleronstube rockefellers and higher ups in the federal reserve, and the bankers on wall street...yes..they are educated......lol

  • Good movie though

  • Aunt Wiki Karl Marx ideology :/

  • What does Karl Marx do in tags??!!

  • I'm a Communist and i'm ok I sleep all night and I work all day.

  • jaja diskutiert ihr mal alle,... wenn ACTA kommt hat sich das mit youtube eh erledigt,...

btw. nice musik and fuck the system,...

  • I disagree with communist philosophy, but god damnit, the Reds bring tears to my eyes with their beautiful music.

  • @NewPyroLabs

Trust me on this one. Forget the politics for a moment and just lose yourself in the music.

  • @NewPyroLabs

    What do you disagree about?

  • @PokeyMeansBusiness ill answer it for him, this what im guessing what he would say (btw I'm a socialist)..."Communism dosnt work b/c people are not meant to be equal, people are greedy, they want rewards for what they do"...

  • @TheVenturino123

implying you won't get rewards for doing things

People are not greedy, communes have worked before.

  • @PokeyMeansBusiness tell that to him, im just saying what people say to me....they always give me the waiter/waitress example

  • the first sounds of this song--->Indiana Jones

  • Wow, this is pure evil. In Soviet Russia... Winter winters you.

  • it depends the history that o song carries, nonethe less i agree listen first.....

  • Beautiful...from Canada,,,,

  • This is very beautiful song even when performance with heavy American accent, both lyrics and music are awesome.

  • I heard this on "The Hunt For Red October," and it wouldn't stop playing in my brain for a while after I saw the movie for the first time.

  • En avant, camarades!! La lutte encore et pour toujours.

  • Pour hier, pas de pleurs. Pour demain, pas de peur.

  • There are so many ways to make a "tyranny" that USA citizes would be surprised to live in such a complex world that they understand almost nothing.

To understand things, first you need to trully need to understand them, then, you can understand fully, cause you will be willing to learn. Theres nothing harder to beat than the lack of will. And USA citizens, living in their american dream only now are starting to need to trully understand they world they live in...

  • This isn't the Red Army Choir, actually; it's Basil Poledouris. You may notice the lyrics are sung in a heavy American accent. Doesn't make it any less of an awesome song though.

    Oh god the irony XD

  • @YarpenDaDwarf @discomjim2 I totally agree with you, this is why I support your comments whole heartedly. But I refrain from any further comments. All you get from reactions is political discussions or plain and right out hate and abuse. Just enjoy this beautiful music and all the other wonderful videos in this range. I love all of them.

  • You no if youtube permanently disabled comments, I would be ok with it. In fact not a single fuck would be given

  • @scourgebane1 not one what about two.

  • Fuck politics, Red Army Choir is the best choir ensemble ever

  • i will talk about whatever the fuck i want...I DONT LIKE CENSORSHIP IN ANY FORM...and yeah it's actually very beneficial that people from different parts of the world can exchange opinions about such an important matter:POLITICS

  • Russian choral music is amongst the best in the world. whether army or not..we should forget the past which was only a dumb power game, and focus on the beauty of the melodies, vocals etc.

  • @Avatar999ize Isn't that all that war ever is?A fight over imaginary lines?Or a fight for beliefs,or possibly resources.Isn't the human race so wise and wonderful at these moments?(sarcasm)

  • I had to escape from the Russian siege of Budapest, but still can enjoy great music like this.

Get a life out there and enjoy music, even if you hate the politics.

  • @justcruisingby

Finally, a real human! I know right? I've heard recounts of German and Russian soldiers, during the Second World War, singing each others songs to each other, obviously they couldn't see each other but they could hear each others beautiful voices :')

I also heard of Germans who wanted to greet and sing christmas with the Americans during WW2, similair to what happened in WW1...The Americans shot them and laughed.

I heard these stories a long time ago, BUT, I shit you not!

  • @Wehrmacht900 You know I'm pretty sure that everyone would think differently about Germans. Perhaps the russians who sang with them were not as scarred as the Americans were?

Maybe the Americans who shot them did so because of the memory that scarred them for life.

You really should thing these things through before you type and look like a total idiot. None of these men wanted to go to the front lines and risk their lives, not even the Germans, they were forced to.

  • @iwannabethekid34x

Both of these stories were on the same page, that's why I mentioned it like that.

We all know the Americans always want to tell us they're the "good guys" fighting "bad guys", the point I'm getting across is the fact that there is no "good guys pwning bad guys" in war, all it is, is a shit hole, where people do all sorts of shit.

  • @Wehrmacht900 No shit man. My grand father, vietnam vet marine corps, himself said war is shit. He didn't ask to be shipped off in that hell hole. No one in Russia, Germany, U.K, USA, asked to be sent to the hell hole of the Eastern and Western battlefronts.

It's all because our leaders are inhumane motherfuckers who send people to hell AKA war.

  • @iwannabethekid34x

Exactly...War makes people go crazy, just because they kill doesn't mean they have the mind of a murderer.

  • @Wehrmacht900 Right on. And no country is perfect, USA killed a lot of people, Soviet Union killed a lot of people, every country fucked up one way or another so there shouldn't be any superiority to one country to another.

  • @iwannabethekid34x The US sent troops to Vietnam to protect the Republic of Vietnam (South), from a oppressive goverment, is there something wrong standing up againist tyranny, also look at the casualties on both sides, The DRV (North) lost so much more then the us did, i ask again, is standing up to tyranny bad?

  • @TK8492 No, not at all.

    In-fact, I support the USA.

But we lost so many lives in Vietnam, only to be pulled out victory-less.

Ask my grand father about it, who lost his comrade Marines in that operation.

It was a disaster, and didn't succeed due to the democratic congress stopping the supplying of South Vietnam.

Had we continued supplying them, they would have beat back.

  • Me, too

  • I love USSR

  • LONG LIVE COMMUNISM!

    ☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭

  • @CCVideosHD Funny considering the lyrics are talking about how the revolution is a failure. Communism is dead.

  • @lsq78

Communism is not dead, it has not yet begun to live.

  • @CCVideosHD No thank you.

  • To end the discussion here between the Pro-Capitalism and Pro-Communism guys: There will be always a upperclass and the underdogs in both systems. And why?: Humans are selfish and greedy* (*the leaders of both systems!). Communism passed away, Capitalism dies also right in our present time!

  • The best thing about the Soviet Union was Hollywood!

  • Red October Checking In

  • Jesus guys, why there are always such discussions on youtube? Just listen to music which is very good in fact.

  • @YarpenDaDwarf yeah im sick of youtube being used by people to 'hate' each other, its about the music not politics

  • Comment removed

  • @YarpenDaDwarf I don't suppose you could copy and paste this comment to just about every YouTube video could you?

  • @Newbie49 Unfortunetly its impossible, only a robot could do that :)

  • @YarpenDaDwarf you are correct. Thanks for the reminder.

  • @YarpenDaDwarf dude who cares...let those idiots argue back and forth about how communism is better or how its not...they are not going to change anything...those dumbshits are just going to yap and yap back and forth and thats all they can do..let it rip

  • lol my Dad thinks this is their national anthem. I'll be glad to correct him and show him the REAL soviet anthem when I get a chance. lol

  • @Kuliev07 You should, as they're singing in legitimate Russian. You're right that it isn't the Red Army Choir--it's a song written for an American movie. I only understand rudimentary Russian, but I can still clearly make out lyrics that have a patriotic theme.

  • @Tokopol Maybe its legitimate Russian, but their pronunciation is so horrible and funny. Its impossible to understand.

  • This is Basil Poledouris, not the Red Army Choir.

Please act mature and correct this.

  • @Tokopol Well actually it's Poledouris directing the Red Army Choir... duh!

  • @Tenebrius1963 No. It's Basil Poledouris directing a choir assembled for the movie 'The Hunt For Red October'. The Red Army Choir obviously had nothing to do with the production of that movie, as the Soviet Union still existed at the time and obviously wouldn't have cooperated with the movie. These things should be so obvious that an infant could grasp them, but people insist on the fantasy that this is the Red Army Choir.

  • question, where did they get the typhoon class sub during the shooting of the movie?

  • @Syriliko They didn't get a typhoon.

  • @Kuliev07 Its opera

  • live

  • I would love to hear this choir in performance.

  • lenin was a genuis, a goverment were people are equal

those who know of lenin, and what his beliefs are, the down trodden, ones that are beaten down by the rich and their corrupting ways. they will love it

the ones who do not know the true communism, the ones who are told wrong things about it, or think stalin was a true communist. they will hate it

the rich, who corrupt goverments, beat down the poor and enslave them to toil in dead in workings to extend their powers. they fear it

  • @xxdomoxxkunxx deadends*

  • @xxdomoxxkunxx Lenin was a genius? He established a secret police :/

And I've been studying more profundly Lenin, and the rise of communism in Russia. All I can tell you is that I'd never want to live under that regime. Not even the countries that once had communism (occuppied through Soviet imperialism), don't want anything to do with it anymore. Ditto.

  • @AvatarMarxon90 for one, stalin made the KGB, not lenin, lenin died shortly after the revolution from disease, he started the red terror movement that the soviets should rise up against the oppresive tsardom that were murdering innocent people, read up on lenin's statement on anti-semetism, he doesnt HATE people working for others, far from, he hates how the employers smash the lives of the worker and blame it on jews

  • @xxdomoxxkunxx the only real mistake you could say is the red terror movement, since it was exactly needed(blame stalin, he came up with the plan, and told lenin that it needed to be done) since he had defacto power of the goverment, it was offical, but the soviets had a real army with them, if this DIDNT happen, the soviet union could have possibly stayed a tsardom(which is pretty fucking bad)

  • @xxdomoxxkunxx wasn't

but the white terrorism wasn't any better, if not worse, but oh, everyone forgets THAT part of history

  • @xxdomoxxkunxx But you'll never hear me say that the Tsarist regime was any better than the Communist one. Tsarist Russia was a backwards, corrupt and bloody country to live in. Well, nothing different there from Communist Russia - except that Communists actually tried to develop Russia, but everything else was kept. About Lenin, what do you have to say about Checka? "A good Russian is also a good Checkist" - he said something like that.

  • @AvatarMarxon90 "he said something like that" isn't a valid responce, lenin created a monster incidently, he made something out of his heart, that he wanted everyone to live equal, since captalism just makes more problems then it solves, it puts the power of many in the hands of the few, he saw the extreme situation of what happens when you do this,(tsars) stalin's USSR and lenin's USSR are almost completely diffrent except for the name, lenin wanted equality, stalin wanted power

  • @xxdomoxxkunxx And I don't like communism, not because I'm rich (I'm part of a lower-middle-class family), but because it goes against all I believe in.

  • this song does not reach the red army standards,it is not even soviet!!!

  • A great quote that all true Soviets like myself shall remember:

"Our greatest glory isn't never failing, but rising every time we fail."

    -Confucius

  • @richrocks95 ....well too bad they havnt rosen? lol

  • @TheVenturino123 Oooh I think they will but idk when. It would be great if it was in 2017 to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the October Revolution.

  • @Kuliev07

This song wasn't composed by Russians... It was composed by Basil Polidouris (Βασίλης Πολυδούρης) for the film "The Hunt For Red October"

    Some of the lyrics are:

До свиданья, берег родной! Goodbye ,home land (coast)

Как нам трудно представить что это не сон How hard it's to imagine that it's not a dream

Родина, дом родной, Homeland, sweet home

    До свиданья, Родина! Goodbye, homeland

  • @Kuliev07 is the theme of an american movie...

  • @TheGiulianov Thank god, at least this way it's not some rap or techno...

  • There is *no* indication this actually is the Choir of the Red Army. In fact, their pronounciation is way off, and the Russian is gibberish. I think this is the original movie score.

  • amazing piece of music, I've never heard it before. Sounds liturgical in a way

  • Can we not get along for once? We're all human beings! Just under different types of government! If you hate people over the internet JUST for that, you, my friend, are truly ignorant.

  • Amazing
