Henry Louis Aaron did it with class. He best symbolizes the Atlanta Braves franchise, and one of the best athletes in any sport. Ever. For my money, the historic call by Milo Hamilton was the best home run call of all-time.
I used to work in radio -- hence my user name lol -- and we had him as a guest on my old show. Shaking his hand and speaking with him was really one of the biggest thrills of my young life.
I love watching Henry turn on an inside pitch and pull a screaming liner off the foul pole . When I think of Aaron , I think of those freakishly fast wrists and hands . He could keep balls fair that most guys would have lined foul . A true hitter , not just a homerun champ
Truly The Home Run King. What An Icon. And Who Cares About How Much More At Bats He Had Than Ruth. He Had To Go Through So Much. Racial Comments, Death Threats. So Much. Ruth Was Never Under Pressure Like That. Obvisiously Ruth Was A Great Hitter, But Hank Is The King!
He played baseball, Played it well. Nice man. Very professional. He is hardly a hero, at least as far as his playing days. I would bet that he would agree with this.
@PsychoNiff what's that got to do with being a hero? Purple heart recipients are heroes, people who save someone drowning is a hero, hitting home runs doesnt make you a hero even if you have people who hate you.
@SuperOlds88 Fair comment....but put yourself in the shoes of hated person just for skin color...and realize the pain and anguish that must be contained in order to achieve your goal in life....that's not easy...
@PsychoNiff Sure, real tough, not easy, but it was still done in a game. A Game. Nobody forced him to play this game. I guess I just dont think of the word hero when it comes to sports. But thats only my one opinion. Personally I thought Hank Aarron was a 1st class human being, and someone to look up to as far as an athlete.

Great player. Great achievement. Good man. Bad uniform. But in baseball, 3-for-4 is a good day.
