  • I did NOT say he jumped line I said thats what he WANTED to do NOT twist my word to please; and according to the actual wait time for that period he would have had to wait the most 27 days least 6 days it would have been quicker for him to stay check you fact. Red man61 pointed that out 1 year ago.

  • People with more serious conditions are inline ahead of him and all he wants is to jump ahead of them because he has money, what a self serving attitude there are other people who were waiting for MRIs. If he really wants to fix the system dont go trying to jump the line push for more MRIs and more Surgery facilities just another case of people with money think they should get priority over other if he went to the US then he should pay out of pocket because thats the American way.

  • It's interesting how the full story is not being told. He claims that he could not find an MRI anywhere in TO with a waittime less than 4 months, yet the Scarborough hospital had a waittime of 27 days during this period and that was for a priority 4. If he was as bad as he claims he would have in the very least been put in prior. 3 which means the waittime would have been less than 27 days. Even with a wait time of 27 days this would have been shorter then the time it took him for the MRI in Buf.

  • Below are the waittimes that Lindsay had access during the period this video references. This is taken directly from the ONT Min.0f Health website: THE SCARBOROUGH HOSPITAL(TORONTO) MRI WAITTIMES DEC-JAN06 90% ofMRIs done within 27Days Average 13Dys Median 11Dys TRILLIUM HEALTH CENTRE(Greater Toronto Area) CANCER SURGERY(Neurological ie.brain)Feb-Mar06 90% surgery done wthin 27Days Average 21Dys Median 6Dys It's hard to have sympathy for a man who's his own worst enemy.KNOW THE FACTS.
  • Nice fact finding good work.

  • That is totally an American misconception most of the western Democracies have public healthcare except the USA; No Communist countries have public healthcare except Cuba. So clearly America is more like China, N-Korea, and the former USSR where only the elite get proper care and Canada and the rest of the western democracies have public healthcare so clearly Public healthcare is a Democratic thing. Too much Conservative Talk Radio, is bad for your mind fills it with lies and twisted facts.

  • There's a new book on the market called The Age of American Unreason ( written by an American no less ) about how stupid Amercans are becoming. Need I say more.....

  • This disgusts me. How dare a society that values money more than the welfare of its citizens criticize our system of free, equal healthcare access for all? Yes we have a waiting time, but at leat we know that no rich person can jump the line because they have more money, but less of a need. They have to go outside the country to get such preferential health care. So help me if he gets his money from the government. He doesn't deserve a penny. I actually hope they tax him for jumping the line.

  • How do you know

  • Comment removed

  • No they dont one politician tried that in the 80s and it was a big thing he never worked politics again no one get to jump the line thats why hes crying about. He had money but had to wait his turn like everyone else. Youre not even Canadian and you are going to go around make stuff up about our healthcare you are a liar and a Yankee peace of SHIT.

  • lol why would you remove your own comments then?

GDP does NOT include population densities, it is simply a measurement of the goods and service provided by a country. A freshman level college statistics class teaches that.

No cherry picking here; the information is out there and I simply read, and understood it.

You know you miserably lost this debate, thats why you still have yet to present facts other than opinion- but hey, you enjoy your health care. Ignorance sure must be bliss...

  • I tried to end my debate with you for a week now and even though I blocked you; some how you still find away to fill my in box, you are the troll and its very clear. Unless you can prove the US healthcare is better thats all youre doing is trolling.

By the way I forgot Canada had a way lower infant mortality rate as well.

  • You havent won anything all you have proven is that Canada healthcare is not perfect but I never claimed it was. What I claimed is it is better than US healthcare and it is.

100% of Canadians have healthcare coverage.

15% of the US population is completely uninsured, and 24% have below basic coverage.

Canadians live longer on average than US Citizens

US spent 15.3% of GDP on health care

    Canada spent 10.0%

It's not perfect but its better than US healthcare and that is undeniable.

  • % of GDP takes the population difference into consideration so yes it is a fair compression. It would not be a fair comparison if it was a straight dollar value, you dont seem to understand anything or you simply deny facts to prove yourself right. Your arguments are weak so you have to rig the debate. Im done with you and this will be my last post you so full of shit. Info cherry picking how very Bush and Cheney of you.

  • When the UK went to a two tier medical system those with money got immediate attention and those who were poor ended up on even longer waiting lists. With private health - the insurance companies only want to insure the young and healthy, and the best doctors are lured away leaving the public system with what's left. Our system in Canada may need a bit of a upgrade but it is still the envy of many Americans, who have for example, a much higher infant mortality rate.

  • I lived in the US for 20 years and experienced its dismal HMO system. The last 5 years I was there I had no health insurance at all. So how many Americans don't have health insurance these days.....something like 50 million and growing. Look's good on ya. As I always say, waiting for health care in Canada is a lot better than getting no health care in the US. Besides, I prefer having my doctor make my health care decisions for me instead of an insurance agent.

  • because having the government make those decisions is so much better right?

  • You are full of shit again under the Canada health act only youre Doctor and you get to decide what kind of medical service you need. The only time the government gets involved is if you leave the country the government decide if they will pay for medical done out of state. That include your lie about elderly and the knee and hip surgery, you are a huge liar and Reich wing propagandises you cannot win a debate with lies in Canada only in the USA were lying is second nature to you right wingers.

  • Lindsay's situation was an isolated case and the "facts" in this video are wrong. The World Health Organization consistently ranks Canada health care system higher than the United States. Canadians have a great life expectancy 80.5 years, US 77.5 years.Canada has a lower infant mortality rate. More Americans die to botched health care treatment than Canadians.

  • yeah, you can get health care in the US if you have the money - which is what, 20% of the American population. if i had a brain tumor the superb care in Buffalo would not help me.

This gentleman could have got the same care in Cuba - at a much lower cost.

  • This video villifies the Canadian healthcare system... Funny thing is people immigrate to Canada for healthcare... I've been to Buffalo some parts are complete ghettos. The reason the Canadian system is a bit sluggish is cause they put everyone for healthcare. It's a quite noble act but it is quite difficult to make it a realistic venture in these days...

  • My mother had breast cancer but it was a grade 1 and we live in Canada. From my understand if Lindsay had a grade 4 then he would be died within a year and no treatment could save him.

Grade 2 are NOT urgent and 1 in 3 live for 5 years WITH NO treatment and 2 in 3 live for 5 years with radiation and chemo only. Tumor removal for grade 2 is not done often and only if the cancer is in area which will not effect any major functions of the person.

  • This seem to be surgery that was not needed and the only purpose was for the hospital and doctor to make money.

Are they any facts that i am wrong about and could you email so i can better understand the case.
