wow it is amazing how many people are in such a hurry that they are willing to risk their own lives just to get to the mall or home and extra 45 seconds earlier i almost had an accident happen infront of me today some idiot ran a red and almost was t-boned by an 18-wheeler, even better than that the cop sitting there and saw this happen didnt even move

dont you know they changed the law from "stop" to slow down and look for police then hammer it

Pardon my ignorance (coming from the UK) but do you legally have to stop at a stop sign? What is the normal penalty if you don't?

Yes you are supposed to come to a complete stop. You get a ticket if you don't.

@magnatom It's exactly the same here in england, if you see a stop sign say at a junction you have to stop before pulling away. But the rules aren't so strict for it over here.

One of them nearly stopped LOL. There is one particular stop sign here that people do that at also. In fact when I learnt to drive (many many years ago) the driving instructor showed it to me.
