Sometimes it looks like similar things are happening at the same time. A trolley crossing in front of the camera, a guy crossing the street, a cyclist comes into view on the right. At one point a horse cart comes up on the side in 1906 and a pick up truck in the same spot in the 2005 version. Fascinating.
Great job with the beautiful and favorite nostalgic background music- thank you.
Posted also on FB - amazing how in the scheme of things, all the people on the left of the screen are likely gone :(. Somehow reminds how we make a mark in the larger picture of our short earthly life. Unfortunately, some forget what is truly important – wishing you a blessed Easter ~
That was fascinating and rather freaky at times, a déjà vu, seeing a street car or a bicycle pass on both sides 100 years apart around the same frame. The soundtrack was lovely.
Adding the hauntingly beautiful soundtrack from "somewhere in time" makes your post worth watching over and over and over again. Thanks so much for giving your musical contribution so much thought.
@Maserati777 I've thought the same thing. Who would have known, that over 100 years later, their dirty faces and innocence would be seen by so many people.
I am impressed. Great editing, great choice of music... everything. And this is terribly, terribly touching. Watching this is an incredible, moving experience. Thank you.
You did a great job!! Thank you very much! I really enjoyed watching all the different movies/video's. Very nice you put them together on one screen. THANK YOU!
A+ Magnific!...

Would you mind if I use this video in my classroom to show 'then and now' about the present and the past?

Amazing. Simply - amazing.
I thought about shooting the trip down market street as a homage when I was in San Fran a year or two back - but didn't think I could do it justice.
And having seen this, I know I could never have done it even a fraction as well.
Just ... brilliant!

Wait....at 7:36 in the 2005 version is that a dude riding a bicycle across the street wearing a Red cape? LMAO
Awesome video otherwise lol

this is an amazing video that shows the hardwork you put into it as you had set it up with the right timing for each frame. simply exquisite.

@hannaley46 Thank you for the compliments, but I'm afraid I cannot take credit for the creation of this video, I just added the music and posted it.

This is an awesome short. I don't even LIKE San Francisco and I thought this 'ride' was wonderful. Have you given thought of selling copies?
