if i would be playing something else on the violin part in the same piece, i would be so jealous of you! not that i am not jealous right now, i mean are so talented it's just unfair
As a violinist, I can really appreciate this! This is what I aspire to be like in around 30 or 40 years :) But honestly, wow! I am so impressed with your tone quality! Amazing. Just amazing.
Thanks ever so much for all your discussions on your videos of why you have chosen to play a movement as you had. The study of music and why the variations have come to exist is almost as interesting as the deep talent you have for playing each piece. Wonderful!
Today I discovered you and I'm amazed for your exceptional talent, your beauty and your humble, because I see you use to respond all comments, please visit my channel so you can see what I do for living and if for the future you visit Cancun I would love to invite you to swim with dolphins! :)
@Annfontanella Yes "dramatic" - I like your choice of word. I have some more info I wish to share: I'm sad that Mr Heifetz didn't record Saint-Saens b minor ; I've often wondered also why he didn't record / perform (?) say Prokofieff No.1, Bartok No.2, Shostakovich Concerti & some others !?
More about your Saint-Saens b minor : I've listened to it again & I'm certain yours is particularly special & unique regarding the beginning opening - I've heard recordings over the years of Cho-Liang Lin*
@JESUS1John *CONTINUING: [recordings heard] Zino Francescatti, Itzhak Perlman, Michael Rabin, & others but none of their openers are like yours - - I prefer your interpretation over ALL the rest ! Well done, I say WELL DONE ! ! !
@JESUS1John sorry : the reply I gave moments ago you can see is split into 2 parts because YT limits the number of characters I could fit ; the other thing is that the second part of that reply should be directed to " @Annfontanella" , not to myself JESUS1John. Thank You
@JESUS1John , No worries, but thanks for the heads up about the messaging! I'm so flattered! I will do my best to continue to live up to your high opinion of me!

@bob7258ful Thanks very much!! I love this concerto, too :). Heifetz was actually going to record it but his right arm gave out before he could. Such a shame....

I randomly searched YouTube and found this; you've an amazing talent. I do have to say, however, that you've made me a bit apprehensive about taking up violin. This was beautiful, thank you.
Bravo Ann, you are excellent and perfectly at ease with the performance of this concerto. The JSO under Maestro Istvan Jaray is doing great too. Keep on being yourself, that is the best way to please our ears (and eyes too); :))
I see such a beautiful field of flowers but it changes from a marching butterfly army attacking the evil forces of something. Such a beautiful piece you performed. Keep on playing! Amazing techniques!
Ann, I didn't know Heifetz wanted to (but never did) record this piece. It was such a loss not to hear Heifetz's interpretation, but I get a glimpse of that from your version.
Magnificent! I would really like to see a video of you discussing your instrument; history, Heifetz's mute, tonal characteristics, and how you like it compared to others you have played of similar quality.
I would LOVE if you would put up a video on how to start "trying" vibratto! I have been playing violin for over 5 years now, but I have never been taught vibratto, and I don't have enough money to take lessons anymore... Is there any way you could make a video of how to start out with it? I would SO much appreciate it! you are truly amazing, I saw you play once here on youtube, and I suscribed immediately!
@AngelandLucy I recommend ProfessorV for tips and trade craft. He has a very nice YouTube channel. His information is very easy to understand and relate to the instrument.
@Annfontanella XD It looked really tight, i guess... Lulz. Why a diff violin? is your Grancino in the shop or something?? You are amazing, btw. I hope I will be able to play like that someday!! ^^
i am having to strain to hear much of the phrasing at times. orchestral forte. so beautiful and quite touching i just wish to hear all. thanks for sharing!
It's so cool to see you performing with an orchestra especially with such a unique concerto, as I've never heard this one before even though I love Saint-Saens (especially the transcription of his Danse Macabre for Piano solo lol). You're tone really does sound different! Its very intense and incandescent sounding... It's like the sound of Heifetz, Neveu and Ida Haendel all in one! I don't think you'll be mistaken as Heifetz anymore as this is very unique sounding!!! Love the annotations too!
@bummy33 , Saint-Saens III isn't preformed nearly enough, I think! I know Heifetz was planning to record it but never got around to it. It's a pity! Thank you for all the kind words!!! I have had a bit of work to develop a more unique sound and I'm pleased to hear that is coming along! :)
I love Anna (she is a very good violinist (and sexy)), but is the rhythm right on this? I've got a Perlman reocrding and he plays it with a different rhythm. @lubahegre01 @lubahegree01, You have a good ear! Perlman takes a little bit of there, so he holds it a little over time. It is a dotted half note and I play it exactly in time there. Since the orchestra is just doing tremolo there, you really do have the option to take a bit of freedom (as he does), but I preferred to play that phrase a little more strictly. :)
