  • really nice

  • Dear Ann...Im in love, is there a chance that you can marry me?

  • Wonderful performance. Hearing you play makes me wish I had learned how to play the violin haha

  • I love your playing and would like to know who the maker of your violin is and what strings you use. Can;t get enough of hearing you.

  • @louise6894 , It's a Matthias Dahl from 1947 and I play Olive label wrapped gut (Pirastro)! Thanks for listening! :)

  • une grande dame du violon;un enchantement de tous les instants

  • if i would be playing something else on the violin part in the same piece, i would be so jealous of you! not that i am not jealous right now, i mean are so talented it's just unfair

  • I really like that you comment the videos.

I love both you and Perlman, but you're alot easier on the eye.

  • heaven must be missing an angel

  • Brilliant work Ann very enjoyable

  • As a violinist, I can really appreciate this! This is what I aspire to be like in around 30 or 40 years :) But honestly, wow! I am so impressed with your tone quality! Amazing. Just amazing.

  • she's great but the orchestra is not up to it

  • sounds like that elanor rigby song

  • Thanks ever so much for all your discussions on your videos of why you have chosen to play a movement as you had. The study of music and why the variations have come to exist is almost as interesting as the deep talent you have for playing each piece. Wonderful!

  • Today I discovered you and I'm amazed for your exceptional talent, your beauty and your humble, because I see you use to respond all comments, please visit my channel so you can see what I do for living and if for the future you visit Cancun I would love to invite you to swim with dolphins! :)

  • You are amazing!!!!!!!!!

  • Beauty, Talent, a sense of humor... I am in love.

Alas my luck of living in Seattle.

  • GREAT! i ESPECIALLY LIKE ALL THOSE BEAUTIFUL RUSSIAN SHIFTS (SLIDES) YOU DO IN THE BEGINNING OPENING

  • @JESUS1John , Thank you!!! It's such a dramatic piece!

  • @Annfontanella Yes "dramatic" - I like your choice of word. I have some more info I wish to share: I'm sad that Mr Heifetz didn't record Saint-Saens b minor ; I've often wondered also why he didn't record / perform (?) say Prokofieff No.1, Bartok No.2, Shostakovich Concerti & some others !?

More about your Saint-Saens b minor : I've listened to it again & I'm certain yours is particularly special & unique regarding the beginning opening - I've heard recordings over the years of Cho-Liang Lin*

  • @JESUS1John *CONTINUING: [recordings heard] Zino Francescatti, Itzhak Perlman, Michael Rabin, & others but none of their openers are like yours - - I prefer your interpretation over ALL the rest ! Well done, I say WELL DONE ! ! !

I wonder what make of Violin you're playing on?

  • @JESUS1John sorry : the reply I gave moments ago you can see is split into 2 parts because YT limits the number of characters I could fit ; the other thing is that the second part of that reply should be directed to " @Annfontanella" , not to myself JESUS1John. Thank You

  • @JESUS1John , No worries, but thanks for the heads up about the messaging! I'm so flattered! I will do my best to continue to live up to your high opinion of me!

  • @Annfontanella not understand expression "thanks for the heads up" ?

I was not trying to flatter you - it came honestly directly from my mind & heart , yours in friendship, John (Johnny) P.S. Yes, I have a high opinion of you, you're right

  • Dream girl ^___^

How do you get such an amazing tone?!

The concerto's beauty really comes out with your playing!

    -An aspiring Violinist :)

  • beautiful gig

  • OMG! that sound is soooo bautiful ♥ ^^

  • MARRY ME....

  • OH MY GOD!!!!

    I LOVE YOU!!!!

  • Meu Deus como ela toca...

  • I love this girl, this is beautiful...

  • I randomly searched YouTube and found this; you've an amazing talent. I do have to say, however, that you've made me a bit apprehensive about taking up violin. This was beautiful, thank you.

  • What a great player she is! she has a big soul!! heifetz would surely loved her!

  • BRAVO

  • Bravo Ann, you are excellent and perfectly at ease with the performance of this concerto. The JSO under Maestro Istvan Jaray is doing great too. Keep on being yourself, that is the best way to please our ears (and eyes too); :))

  • I see such a beautiful field of flowers but it changes from a marching butterfly army attacking the evil forces of something. Such a beautiful piece you performed. Keep on playing! Amazing techniques!

  • I don't know what critics gonna say but remember you're amazing!

  • Wonderful, will keeping listening many times.

  • Ann, I didn't know Heifetz wanted to (but never did) record this piece. It was such a loss not to hear Heifetz's interpretation, but I get a glimpse of that from your version.

  • Amazing! I have been waiting for another piece by you. Your better every time I hear you.

  • @SBZ925 , thank you very much!

  • Beautiful tone on this one Ann, as always. Saint Saens agrees with you so much, you seem to sail easily through this concerto.

    -Best regards

  • @scryabin , I genuinely enjoyed performing this piece. I am glad you felt it showed!

  • love your channel! makes an excellent accompaniment to doctoral law studies.

  • A VERY BEAUTIFULL...WARM AND EXPRESSIV SOUND.

    BRAVO MAESTRA))))

  • Powerful performance with a nice dress.

  • Nice job. You have a great sound.

  • brava!!

  • Magnificent! I would really like to see a video of you discussing your instrument; history, Heifetz's mute, tonal characteristics, and how you like it compared to others you have played of similar quality.

  • I would LOVE if you would put up a video on how to start "trying" vibratto! I have been playing violin for over 5 years now, but I have never been taught vibratto, and I don't have enough money to take lessons anymore... Is there any way you could make a video of how to start out with it? I would SO much appreciate it! you are truly amazing, I saw you play once here on youtube, and I suscribed immediately!

  • @AngelandLucy I recommend ProfessorV for tips and trade craft. He has a very nice YouTube channel. His information is very easy to understand and relate to the instrument.

  • @gsdev1 , Agreed, he does a nice job.

  • Magnificent. Bravo!

  • Is it me, or is your bow slightly warped at the tip? Also, are you using a different violin or a different camera?

  • @TheSingingViolinist , no the bow is straight :)....I just angle it. Different camera and different violin! :)

  • @Annfontanella XD It looked really tight, i guess... Lulz. Why a diff violin? is your Grancino in the shop or something?? You are amazing, btw. I hope I will be able to play like that someday!! ^^

  • @TheSingingViolinist , Because the Grancino has difficulty projecting - not enough sound! Keep practicing! :-D

  • So inspiring :)

I play violin myself and would someday like to play like you if that isn't impossible..

For me, it's so hard vibrating on my pinkie because I have really weak pinkie :(

    Anyways, have a great day

  • @Theperfectviolinist , You may be rounding it up too much. Find an angle where you have stability - it might help :)

  • I feel so sophisticated by listening your music that I had to subscribe to your channel!

  • @Tr0jan1337 , LOL, I'm glad you're enjoying it! :)

  • i am having to strain to hear much of the phrasing at times. orchestral forte. so beautiful and quite touching i just wish to hear all. thanks for sharing!

  • listenin to this as i keel off

    nightnight lol!

  • Awesome upload~! I can't wait for the Third Movement, it's my favorite!!! :D

  • It's so cool to see you performing with an orchestra especially with such a unique concerto, as I've never heard this one before even though I love Saint-Saens (especially the transcription of his Danse Macabre for Piano solo lol). You're tone really does sound different! Its very intense and incandescent sounding... It's like the sound of Heifetz, Neveu and Ida Haendel all in one! I don't think you'll be mistaken as Heifetz anymore as this is very unique sounding!!! Love the annotations too!

  • @bummy33 , Saint-Saens III isn't preformed nearly enough, I think! I know Heifetz was planning to record it but never got around to it. It's a pity! Thank you for all the kind words!!! I have had a bit of work to develop a more unique sound and I'm pleased to hear that is coming along! :)

  • Sorry, Ann not Anna (I've been drinking again :) )

  • I love Anna (she is a very good violinist (and sexy)), but is the rhythm right on this? I've got a Perlman reocrding and he plays it with a different rhythm. I've not got the actual music score so I can't say, but the 5th note should be logner? and some other notes longer? Still, I love Anna, and am very pleased that she paly the violin. (I paly too, but as an amature)

  • O Anna, you are fabulous - even better than the music you play- and the music and performance is wonderful.

  • I loved it :)

  • You are to my eyes and ears, like chocolate to my tongue.

    Wonderful!

  • @Downfacingdog , Now that's hard to live up to! I'm not sure I can equal CHOCOLATE! :)

  • *bows* you are the greatest player on youtube

  • @sasuke10fan , Thanks, Sasuke! But now I have to go check on everyone else :p :D

  • Bravo Ann! I love the tone you got in the opening, and the passages were played with such precision. Cheers, Nate.

  • Dear Ann, this is just wonderful and it does not befit me, an amateur, to give the high praise your playing deserves. For the first time I actually liked Saint Saens! Thank you so much and best wishes! - Athan
