for begining, it was to reduce bigs seismes and making it various but smaller.
In URSS, in the Cold war, they found a weapon wich can have effects until 50km.
they 've tryied to measure the ground'sthickness using nuclear.
but the first time they used it, the ground answerd by a lot of seismes. after the war, this Nuclear weapon was bout by US army.
But now, nobody knows where it is,how they can use it
using it in a fragile ground fault can be very dangerous.
