@submelon8 OK... it's more like 1.5s... but you understand that in a 0-60 run 1 sec is is like 5 car lengths... May not sound like a lot, but it's a bunch of real estate. The trucks are no slouches though, at all! Remember that those things are even heavier than the LX cars. Also, the reason that feat can be pulled off is also b/c they have a bunch of torque (needed to pull loads) and are geared for torque... you probably have a 3.55 or 3.73 rear end as well.
@submelon8 With drag radials, this thing will reach 60 in the 3's. 0-60mph is pretty meaningless at this power level, anyway -it is more of an indication of traction than of HP. 1/4 mile tells the story better. Your truck will is probably 4 seconds slower than this thing in the 1/4. Not even a comparison.
@Dirili77 It is the stock 5GTronic made by Mercedes. Nothing has been done to the transmission. The rear end is the stock 3.06 LSD Getrag that came on the 2009 and 2010 SRT-8. Nothing has been done to this car except the blower and exhaust.
@urdaddybitch100 The car is a 2010... the MPG went up about 10% when driving normally. I used to get about 21 MPG on the highway with a 70MPH average. Now I just averaged a little over 23 on a recent 2000 mile trip in October. The car has 43,000 miles and it has had the S/C in for about 38,000...
@KoolCordell The GS Kit is a Paxton based kit. They run a centrifugal s/c & liquid intercooled. Same as the Vortech setup. Without having seen one (never seen a Paxton in a Mopar) I would be hard pressed to give you an opinion. All I can say is that Vortech (as a fabricator) makes a kit for modern Hemi LX cars. Paxton does not. Just for the Vipers. If I had to choose, I'd go with a fabricator kit simply for the better support. MY OPINION
@luisvalladares Funny thing is Paxton and Vortech owned by the same guy. That probably why they both dont make a kit. Dont want to compete against themselves LoL
how much was install and supercharger all together? i just recently bought an srt8 charger and trying to decide wheather to go with 426 stroke to keep it naturally asprirated or go supercharger
@cuts2thebone I think you asked me a similar question on the forums. This is a complex answer for 500 characters. The s/c was best for me. The driveability and the fact that, unless I am on it hard, my mileage improved. Below the 2500 RPM mark, the car drives like a stock SRT8. The 426 is a great, but you are going to lose on gas big time and it's not as simple a swap. Be aware that the top end has to be changed. A 426 stroker with a SRT heads and cam is not at it's full power.
does the 06 charger srt8 have that same information system on the cluster? im very close to buying a black 06 charger srt8, just a matter of agreaing on price but i would really love that option 0-60 timer?
@Sleepy731 I am 80% sure it is. I think the "Performance" is there on the EVIC (the computer software that displays on the dash) like it is on all the SRT's. Easy to confirm... when you check the car out, you can scroll through the options button on the right side of the steering wheel (above the compass button) and if the "Performance" sections shows, you have the timer. I think the 0-60 timer is there on all of them. I think the newer cars added the 1/4 and /18 mile times.
@doug2bitemore ... That was on 255 street tires. With 275s on there now it would be better. On drag radials at the track, the car hooks up better so the time would drop.
What I desperately need is a torque converter to be able to launch at a higher RPM.
1st gear pulled the car to 50. Wtf that's awesome!!

what blows my mind is the fact that my 2010 5.7 "stock" ram sport (with exception of a kn drop-in) is only about a second slower 0-60...
