  • THIS IS MY HOMETOWN... : ( LEFT FOURTEEN YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS FOURTEEN. GLAD ITS STILL HOME IN MY MIND. LOVE TO ALL MY PEOPLE IN FREMONT AFFECTED BY THE CLOSINGS AND BAD ECONOMY. PULLED SOME HEART STRINGS WITH ME.NOTHIN BUT LOVE FREMONT

  • omg. that mervyns is still there

  • First off, you showed a bunch of stores in Newark. Second many of the vacant store fronts were just moving to a new Fremont location. Third, you dismiss the internets impact on business. Record and book stores close due to online shopping, not a bad economy. Steak houses, burger joints and other Americana shops are closing due to "diversity". Everything is turning into either a taqueria, asian mart (all shop signs in chinese) or an Indian bazaar. Add the black crime =Fremont sucks now.

  • The loss is the love for God and obedience to Him. 2 Chr 7:14

  • The problem with Hybrids, according to articles and experts is that it takes more energy to produce them than the savings in fuel.

  • Gabbo2010 You must be a complete MORON to think this would be a Mcgiver fix, did he ever once say it would be a quick fix. The former President broke the rules of the UN and lied to the people to start a very expensive War. Of which he went against the UN, and lied to us, So many of you think Obama is bad the first year ya might wanna think about the former Pres first false year um the vote was a lie as well watch RECOUNT AND THE MESSENGER see how great he did.

  • You really think Obama is change??? Are you a moron, America is going downhill, the way of life you have gotten used to is now going away. You want prosperity?? Go somewhere else. Even Canada is doing better than America these days.

  • ur trippin dude. how many fuckin retail stores do we really need. fremont has to many. and rasputans went out like every record store cuz of the internet. so if you wanna blame somethin blame the computer you posted this video on. i'm glad all these business closed down. and people who lost their houses make me smile. face it..you wouldn't of lost it if u could afford it. it's time for america to leave the malls, and to live within our means. if you can't afford it, don't buy it dumbasses!

  • @stefano74ish You are not to bright um first of all you have a computer as well, second of all if you smile when someone looses there home, I hope you get the compassion in your ace some day, when your self righteous butt loose your job.. And if you knew what the word STOCK MARKET meant you would know that it helps America to spend at the Malls and small businesses. I would love to see a six foot four homeowner who got foreclosed on smack that smile off your smug mug.

  • Yes this is two Cities I am sorry I did not mention Newark. We all must work at fixing this. For those who blame Obama he did pay us a visit. When is the last time a President did that. He cannot clean up this d mess along. He is not the cause or the cure. He needs help.

  • This was actually two city's, Fremont, and Newark. City Council should take some responsibility as well.

  • Half of those places were in Newark.

  • President Obama has been in office long enough that you can stop putting the blame on the past President about our economy!!! The way i see it, Obama is more to blame with the road our country is heading down. Who knows if he'll ever get it right???

  • @Begs09 You cannot be serious. Don't blame BUSH haha that is almost funny. Yeh and Obama just got the Country when it was in great shape, yeh we were not in a trillion dollar war, banks did not lend to people who could not afford homes, oh and what of the job situation. Yeh the past eight years was great for us IF tis is all Obabma;s fault then one year is what created this mess. GET OUT you people who expect a miracle are nuts.

  • @MATSON53 Obama doesn't have a clue what he's doing when it comes to solving this countries money issues. He's one of the biggest problems when it comes to being in debt. Looks like he'll will just keep printing money until he runs out of paper.

  • If you saw the video you would know that it was done as a project by a team myself and my 13 year old, so have some heart and forget the spelling, the point was it is sad for those who still live here and perhaps your self centered and do not care what becomes of the place but some people do. Use compassion it is YOUR friend

  • I grew up in Fremont. What a dump. Lamenting closed up chain stores and restaurants is a huge waste of time. That community was screwed up a long time ago. BTW. Spell check. It's your friend.

  • 2:49 i live a block away from there :D

  • I id thank the vets in the video, You really cannot tel me forclosures and lost businesses were as bad in any administration as the Bush admin. Why do people think that if we don't like what goes on that we do not love and respect Vets, Did you know their are so many new hospitals being built right now for the vets that come home my kids dad has built two in NC already, and well deserved. This has nothing to do with Vets. And if you are one thank You.

  • @MATSON53 As jjgfx put it it's the Profit - driven greed of Bankers, Local and state government taxing California to the max, Never ever having a balanced buget, long before Bush and Clinton. Businesses have moved away from the state, One can't solely blaim one adminstration (I got it you don't like Bush) that 's okay, but he didn't single handedly do in the state California, We have the State Government to thank for that. Which at the time of Bush, The Ca. State Senate Was/is Democratic.

  • @ERICTSGT: Don't forget to blame the idiotic, greedy materialistic, uneducated americans who bought houses they KNEW they couldn't afford. It is not the bankers fault. It is the fault of the moron who signed the contract hoping they could sell the house in a few years to turn a profit. Dumbasses paying $600,000 for fremont houses got what they deserve. You would have to be seriously retarded to pay that much for a house. Even today the prices are way overinflated. But idiots will still buy.

  • Don't forget NUMI/Toyota plant too, Saddly Fremont CA was going down way before the Bush Adminstration. I have lived there for 46 years. And Obama is spending all our kids money leaving us with Fools Change in our pockets. There all Bad both sides. Like your Freedom thank a Vet.

  • Those businesses failed because people can not afford to support them. Rent, food and high gas prices are hard enough to maintain. The current economy is the result of short sighted governments and financial institutions acting negligently at the tax-payers expense. Profit-driven greed was the cause of the subprime mortgage disaster, people working at Burger King getting approved for loans, then inevitably defaulting.

  • damn i remember when i used to go to rasputins and all that shit next to the newpark mall and im only 17 things have certainly changed they even got that bj's place where all that stuff is

  • why did you keep showing president obamas face along with the devastation , he had nothing to do with that.

Why havent you put the bushes face in the video they are responsible for this mess Whay arent you idiots saying anything about the bushes.

  • I put the song TIME FOR A COOL CHANGE with the video hoping most people would hear it when they played the video, in now way shape of form did this have to do with Obama at the end it was his face as our only hope. IT IS ALL BUSH ADMINS FAULT> sorry if you did not get the sound. It is pretty common knowledge the guy was an idiot. And his war was beyond wrong. Sorry if you got confused. Obama is our time for a cool change. Thanks for stating the obvious. Could not agree more

  • ok srry i called you idiots i get so emotional when it comes to the president. by the way whats going on out there is going on everywhere so all we can do is pray and turn to god.

  • i live in fremont i moved here 10 years ago the cost of the average 4 bedroom is $2600 per month i see the economy changing but the cost of living here hasn't.

but you are right business's are closing everwhere at very rapid rate

  • i live in fremont and probably will always live here because i love the place. but it is really sad and i went to most of the places that are closing. and i'm trying to change too...

  • only one direction for fremont to go now. upward

  • With all my repect, I thing this whole bay area got out of hand. My brother lives hear. Housing costs more than three times than the average in almost any city in the USA. Come on That's rediculos; what goes up must come down; sorry i do not mean to disrepect.

  • California generates more money for this nation than any other State besides NY. So we should fight for our cities stay alive. With Niumi closing Fremont will be almost dead. Yes what goes up must come down, but were these banks telling the truth about the values of the house when selling them. Housing cost more when any area is generating money for the nation. My point is Fremont should not die

    a

  • Absolutly, fremont should not die; and it will not die.

  • I remember going to Circuit City when I was five and I bought my Xbox. That was seven years ago. Things can change. What was once a high-tech store that I used to buy games from is now a ruined memory, in other words, the effect of recession. I hope one day that it will open back up soon. I used to live in Fremont, now I live what is left of it (A lot is left over.) :(

  • You sound very smart for your age, my entire reason for making this is so that people realize things have to change for the future generations like yourself. And they will.

  • Thanks, I know, great video by the way. I liked the old Fremont better, there were less people losing their jobs.
