What is grow media didya use in the potting baskets. What also diya use to start the seed, compost or dirt soil?

We start our plants in grow sponges specific for hydroponics. Sometimes we will transplant from plants grown in the soil.

Yes, the gardens are 2 stories up on a balcony. Some plants won't grow if it is not the right season.

If you have limited space then vertical is definitely better and less complicated.
