  • Oye y no hace misiones o algo asi

  • Nice visual's effect's.

    I don't beliewe it's Dark Basic!

  • Does this software have scripts?

  • WITH DARK BASIC!?!!?!?!?!

  • this looks very like last samurai 2 on ps 2

dont get me wrong this is a good thing

  • tal ves esta sea una pregunta tonta pero eso lo isiste con un progama llamado DarkBASIC xq la verdad si lo isiste con ese progama esta buenisimo

  • bad ass I hope to be able to make games this good lol

  • WERE CAN MAKE A DOWNLOAD OF THIS GAME !!

  • Good job, looks like a game I would play. Few idea though: your textures are too clean, add some bits of dirt, (or maybe blood) to the walls and maybe make it look like the path has had alot of people walk down it, just suggestions.

  • man congratulations.....

  • dam dude im workiing with darkbasic pro too and i my characher is a cube ninja lol i dont know how you did all this its amazing!!

  • Use Fraps, game recorder wihout breaks. Download: fraps.com

  • nice, is darkbasic dificult?

  • lags abbit

  • the one thing a hate is how slow it is but gravics are great

  • great for Xbox 360

  • awesome!

  • char looks to high polly for a mmo

  • @MrRik338 - It's single player not MMO. Check the newer vids, this one is really outdated.

  • @Irradic oh sorry i wasnt reading well :S

do you like darkbasic pro as a engine?

  • when will ur game be coming out? it's just the type of graphics/game I'm looking for, great work !

  • cool man

  • This is awsome, its look like a real ps3 game or somthing :D

  • awesome work :O

  • reminds me of oblivion....

  • WoW this game looks awesome hes graphics amzing

  • awesome job man!

  • @MH3TRI100 Thanks man !

  • Sur ma chaine il ya une video pour créer vos jeux , elle est en 1ere ;) regardez la ;)

  • awersome, can you put this on dark gdk, i just starting

  • greate game and wonderful song! thank you for this moment men, . you inspired alot, . you are a genius!

  • @ravelperez11 Haha, I'm not a genius. But if my work inspired you, I'm glad !

  • WOW GREAT!! :O

  • @Hyroar Thanks :)

  • Looks like a pretty good animation for the avatar. Did you animate him, as well?

  • @fearguis Yes I created the animation as well., although it wasn't really intended for this character. I just reused it as a place holder, until I would have the time to create some new animations for the samurai

  • can anyone or you gimme a tutorial on using this im downloading now and i hope its easy to use or understand

  • @skullwolf13 its not.

  • ok thanks i found a better one unity3d seems good enough tho now i have to learn coding or scripting

  • @skullwolf13 I think that's a good choice. Creating a game in a visual editor makes a lot of things easier. The available tutorials should get you going. Wouldn't the free version lack of shadows, reflections and post processing, I'd be using it myself

  • wow! that's amazing!!!

  • dude i jus started making like a week ago and ok you dont need to rash on ppl lke dat im jus asking 4 help

  • Definitely you will first have to learn how to work with your tools, before you can start working on a game. You will need patience and you have to stay motivated. It's nothing that you could learn in a weeks time or a month. If you want to work on a game of your own, you need to learn all aspects of game creation, and that's everything from coding, to modeling,uv mapping, animating etc.

Start with something small and learn while you are at it.

  • yea man cuz im tire of buying game 4 my psp and i jus wanna make my own good looks 4 de info

  • @nadieteconoce

So you think you can just create a game better than resident evil from 0. Good luck. (Sarcasm)

  • well no i cant but i wanna make it like resident evil tho

  • @Irradic I'm going to get this program soon, I need a few questions answered, if you don't mind. How skilled must you be to create graphics like this? Will the tutorials on the software explain how to make graphics and program? Is the set builder like "you build a bunch of blocks or shapes, put them in places, and program them to move or put graphics on them"?

  • @notessimodude

I can't speak too much for DarkBasic since I greatly prefer the C++ DarkGDK, but I can say for sure that DarkBasic isn't going to help you make any models for you. These kind of models are really on the scale of professional 3d modeler. The programming itself is fairly well documented so it's easy to pick up, but don't expect to make this right away, because this is probably some 1,500 lines of Basic? (Looks like maybe 300 C++ if you want to use that...) -- continued.

  • @notessimodude

    --Coninuation..

As programming works, you're going to take in a pre-made model (Or create some vertices, though I think DB/DGDK handles vertices for you...) The map wasprobably either a BSP import or a series of imported models moved around. DB/DGDK are both graphics libraries, meaning that all they do is handle the graphics code for you (though I do believe they also have functions for i/o) so you don't have to write your own pipeline. Purely code-based, no model or sound makin

  • im trying to make a video game like resident evil but better and i dont know how to work with my dbpro thingy

  • wow, I can't wait to see the finished project!

  • such a quality made by one person its incredible§!

  • Thanks a lot for the compliment. Glad you like it.

  • and of course DARKlights + DARKphysis + lots more

  • damn it, it looks great. The range blure is my favorite in every game and the water.

Somehow it reminds me of tes:oblivion just in a oriental way. Maybe the katana. :D

Anyway, I used to try making games some time ago with blitzbasic. It was awesome but after some insiders split and started a new project. Blitzbasic was ruined and I lost my motivation to move on.

If I had started with darkbasic maybe I would still try to make games. :D Damn it. :D

Anyway I will follow your project.

  • darkbasic doesnt have a that good performance i guess? or does it?

  • It's no secret, DBPro isn't the fastest engine out there.

But it's definitely good enough for me and for the project I'm working on. I've been working with DBPro for a long time. Creating assets and getting it into the engine has become an easy routine. I've tried UDK and Unity, but for now I'll be sticking to DBPro.

  • how about coding something by yourself?

  • You mean like coding my own engine ? I wouldn't want to reinvent the wheel. There are enough open source and free engines out there. Also, I wouldn't have the time and skills to do so.

  • ookay.. XD

but i think thats pretty noobish if someone makes an engine, like darkbbasic pro, wich lets users make games, but the performance isnt maxed out..

  • Noobish is the wrong word, Id' rather say it's a bit disappointing. Maybe the next version will improve on some things, including performance. But then again it's not like the performance is horrible.

  • yeah.. but still.. thats not what i call quality..

the people should be able to max out their abilities!

btw, is the lag in this game your fault, or dark basic's?

  • I think you have to take DBPro for what it is, a beginners and hobbyists engine which was released 5-6 years ago. I don't think a hobbyists/beginners abilities would be limited here. But I'm not denying that the performance is causing me frustrations from time to time.

That is if you are trying achieve a good quality look through fair detailed models and post and material shaders.

  • While running fine in UDK, the same scene would require a lot of optimization in DBPro.

Like mentioned before, I would really like to see a performance update. But as I see things this is not going to happen, there doesn't even seem to be any future plans for a new DBPro. Which would hopefully be a newly written engine and not just a DX10-11 update based on the same slooow core (see FPSC X based on DBPro DX10).

  • I see..

I also dont think they will improve the performance, since i've never seen something like that done in any program...

but do you have to code in darkbasic? or with something like c++??

  • Think again, actually a couple of games and engines received performance optimizations at some point. It's not so uncommon. But I guess optimizing DBPro wouldn't be worth the work, at this point of it's life span. Anyway, I'm coding with DBPro, but there is a C++ wrapper called DarkGDK

  • thats true.

but i've never seen a game get a performance optimization that actually makes a change..

  • @Irradic - I agree with you, no need to add yet another game engine out there. However, it does take skill to program... even in DBPro. DBPro is a really good foot-in-the-door application to get beginners into the concept of professional development.

  • frame rate needs some work its look great.

  • you are amazing, just needs shadows

  • dude awesome game and nice music, I was wondering i have Darkbasic pro and i was wondering how would you start off on a great game like the one you're making

  • First, Pray. :D Next, PLAN!!! Get out some notebook paper and start figuring out what you intend to make, and HOW you intend to make it. Also, you need models. There is now a free version of 3ds max for game development if you have any experience in making game models. It is effective, and powerful, though the features are quite trimmed in the sense that you can not render out scenes for the sake of texture usage, etc.

check out thegamecreators for great help and media.

  • WOW! beautiful game and the song that fits along too. Id love to learn and make games like this one day but i always wondered which is the best program to use. c++ or darkBASIC? hm...

  • c++ is definitely the "better" choice in terms of PROFESSIONAL development and distribution. However, DB is by far the better choice for RAPID development and distribution.DB was developed in c++ and now there is a library package available called Dark GDK for c++ that gives you most of the DB commands for use in c++.

  • can i play a demo?:D

  • cooL!!

  • Ok, this song is AMAZING!!!!!!! Game looks GREAT! What are you waiting for m8? :P

  • this is sick man. I wish you good luck and i can definatly see that you have potential! keep it up ;)

  • Awsome, the graphics are amazing and this was all coded in DarkBASIC PRO!!!!!!

  • Very nice.

  • can you use weapons in that game? how long did it take you to make that? plz replie

  • Yes you will. however all will be blade weapons.

Now that's a hard question. I've been working for months on and off on this project. Whenever I have some free time. But I think I sometimes waste too much time by redoing textures and models.

  • maybe you do... but man it's worth it. Because even though there's not much functionality here, this looks incredible. I might even go as far as to say it's the sweetest looker I've ever seen! I'm keeping my eye on this!

  • It's really cool! Nice graphics!

  • Thank you very much. Glad you like it

  • Do you need composers for the sounds/musics

    used in your game?

By the book, this project seems realy nice!!

  • sei u grande, io ho 12 anni e sono inesperto mi puoi dare una mano?

  • ! I want to learn how to make this kind of game!!! damn you teach me everything you can! now!!!

  • It's the capturing software.

  • why is the fps so low, is that just what your using to record, or your pc, or the game itself?

  • off*

  • Jaja very very impressive. You could make alot of money of this! :O

  • can you send a demo??

  • Subbed because I really wanna see where you take this. ^-^

  • wow very impressive. Graphics look great and the models are amazing. I just got dark basic professional yesterday and even though i had the origonal dark basic im still very much a beginer. If you had any tips for me please post on my channel.

  • the map remonds me of mystical ninja on n64

  • In a good way im saying lol..it looks influenced

  • Unfortunately I'm not familiar with Mystical Ninja. Never had a N64. I used vacation pictures I found on Google and different movies like Shinobi as reference.

Also has a friend of mine a japanese colleague, she's helping a bit with the authenticity. But the game is still fantasy. Thanks for the comment

  • Holy crap dude thats amazing!!! your graphics are beautiful its impressive! i only have one thing to say its an easy fix but i kinda think after long term playing it ppl might get annoyed with the camera being so level try moving it up a bit and angling it downward so u can see in front of him a little better... just my advice either way your graphics are better then anythin i could reach kudos!

  • Hi. Thanks for the advice ! I know the camera is not optimal at the moment. But I will definitely improve it. However I don't really want to change the distance between character and cam. I hope the final result will offer a better field of view. Thanks again !

  • You can't see much of whats in front of you....

  • Frist of all... Wow. Second of all... Can you please tell me, how do I get my 3dMax models into DarkBasic?

  • Thanks ! I'm using the KW-Xport plug in to export my models into .x file format.

  • hey , is it that laggy wen u actually play it?

anyways awesome game mate, its the best ive seen so far. : )

    keep striving dude :P

  • Thanks a lot ! No, I mentioned in 1 of my previous comments that the capture turned out choppy. I'll make sure that future captures will be as fluid as the game itself.

  • This is very nice. Very professional in appearance, and the protagonist looks badass. How long did it take you to model him?

  • Thanks a lot ! I can't exactly say how long it did take, since I was working on and off on that character. But I think it would come down to about a week.

  • its a bit choppy because of the capture

but i dont need to see it in perfect to know that those anims are fucking gorgeous

    good job

  • Thanks a lot ! Even though I must say the walking animation does look a bit strange in this video. But that's because there are frames missing. For the next update, I'll try to do a better capture.

  • just tell me how long it takes to learn c++?? several month??

and it written in c++, right??

  • It's written in Darkbasic Pro , not DarkGDK for C++. I'd say several months are the minimum.

  • Comment removed

  • is it stuck???

u think which is the best ogre3d or darkbasic???

look at ogre3d official website's gallery.....

  • Well, would I be efficient enough in C++ I would go for Ogre3d. However Ogre3d is just a render engine. DBPro might not be the best and the fastest engine out there, but it suits my needs and programming skills. It's hard to say how long it would take to learn C++.

  • I would go with darkbasic because most games are created with teams of professionals that have been making games for years, but what I like about The Game Creators is that theyre really dedicated to giving the regular guy the right tools to creating an awesome game.

  • Yeah looks amazing! I am programming actual a Final Fantasy VII Continuing with DB Pro- maybe you can give me some links, tips, etc. ...? Send me a PM if you can give me useful links, tips etc. ... It would be epic! Thanks for your help and good luck with your game!

  • FFVII, sounds great ! Good luck with your game ! I don't know if I can give you any tips., but if you have questions I can try to answer them. Just write me a PM

  • Does DBPro support bones and skinning?

  • Yes DBPro supports bones and skinning

  • hey!! looks very very nice!!

  • My favorite model is the Samurai, did you model, rig and animate him yourself?

  • Thanks for all your comments :)

Yes the character was modeled, textured, rigged and animated by me. I exported it with KWXport. You should check your setting for KWXport, I'm using it for the level objects and characters. It works flawless.

  • Looks very very pretty, but it seems it have low FPSs...

  • No that's my fault, I changed the keyframe settings of Snagit and it turned out too low.

  • Then it looks amazing!!!
