  • Ah, The memories! I used to watch this movie over and over again when I was little. But this scene did not scare me for some reason. I think that it did, though, bring in an irrational fear of clowns for me from that day onward, and clowns still freak me out to this day! I just found this movie at my local HMV store for $5.00, so I bought it! I'm so excited! I can't wait to watch it!

  • This scene was why I was terrified of this movie as a kid.

  • lol run

  • @matt420norris I AM IN....

  • the weed smoke got him :/

  • 0:06 Lol looks like buttcheeks

  • I think even the Joker would piss his pants at this

  • Between this and the clown from "It" instilled terror in lots of young children including me

  • 0:42 I used to shake like a scared cat when I heard that haha. But now that I am older I really want to blow that clown up haha

  • It's the end that gets me.

  • run

  • when i was a little kid this scared the shit out of me everytime i watched it, which was about 5 times a day because this movie was awesome sauce.

  • This part has always ruined clowns for me.

  • Run

  • A horned clown that whispers "run" and then kills the main character in a tub of water as the kid he is searching for is dragged away by living smoke.

    Children's entertainment!

  • During production, producer Donald Kushner thought that this scene should be cut from the final film, because of the clown being extremely frightening to younger children. But for unknown reasons, it was left in the film.

  • Twenty years later, this is still terrifying. Holy fucking crap.

  • The clown isn't the scariest part for me, not even was I was little. It's the smoke coming out the toaster as the kid eats bread, the clown throwing FORKS and the bathtub scene. Dear lord, how many references to death did this movie have. I never got most of the references, but watching it now freaks me out.

  • This is one of my favorite movies.....but I always skip this part cause I will have horrifying nightmares

  • WHY A CLOWN, that's my question. I remember this now watching the clip...I think I blocked it out from my mind... "run..." hell of quote for a scary clown to say 0_o

  • as a kid I always loved firefighters. I also loved McDonalds. the crackling fire sounds make it all the more relaxing. I liked the bright colors and overall this clown made me hungry.

  • This [part scared the shit out of me as a child.

  • wow... still scared the shit out of me....

  • So THIS is why people don't like clowns..

They really don't make kids movies like they use to.

  • I used to go into the other room when it was time for this scene.

  • I don't remember much of watching this movie before, like, ten years ago, but I remember the feeling I had throughout it: Fear. There was nothing else to watch, nothing else to do, I was in someone's attic, I forget who's, and I watched this, and now I no longer wonder where my fear of clowns came from.

  • this never bothered me as a kid. mostly because it was such an obviously fake dream. now that stupid AIR conitioner had me running out of my room screaming! and speaking of nostalgia critic, that willy wonka tunnel scene also had me crying and screaming. ive noticed someting they have in common. they SCREAM at you out of ANGER. they become so angry, their voices become distorted and its almost shocking to hear.

  • i have a disease called sleep... i think this cured it

  • This movie made me scared of clowns

  • this scared the shit out of me when i was younger

  • Why did i not cry to this when i was a kid.

  • i've watched this movie for years and i just noticed that clown firefighter has horns...0_0

  • .___. knowing what a scardey cat I was, Im amazed this didn't creep me out when I was younger, I didnt even know what was going on in this scene

  • And that's how an entire generation of children developed an irrational fear of clowns. Thanks, Disney!

  • So that's why I have a fear of clowns... It's all so obvious now o.o

  • Still scares the crap out of me. Thanks to this and Pennywise from IT - I HATE CLOWNS! What I say next might sound strange, but just go with me okay? I don't own a toaster for fear of it catching fire and bringing a horrific clown with it! I don't walk on, by or look down at sewer drains for fear of seeing Pennywise in it! I do realize that this sounds crazy but yes all true. CLOWNS scare the shit out of me, always have and probably always will!

  • @clooneylooney2184 then watch this video please

    watch?v=hqI8Bs7RiiE

  • This...is absolutely terrifying. And I'm 20.

  • fucking hell how did I get to sleep at night??

  • Oh, good. I was wondering what it would take to forgo sleep for the rest of my life.

  • Thumbs up if cracked.com brought you here

  • I think UK TV airings of this movie cut the dream sequence after the door slams, thinking the second half would be way too scary for children. I'm not scared of clowns, but this one is freaky...

  • this scared me when I was a kid

  • This is the reason why kids are afraid of clowns, hand down.

  • clowns still aren't scary to me, for some reason.

  • This is like a repressed memory for me

  • This was so terrifying as a child. I used to have nightmares about him almost every night. It still is horrible!

  • Wow.. now I know why I'm so messed up. I watched this everyday.. seriously.

  • Somehow him just saying "Run" turns the dial to 11

  • Believe me or not, I was never scared or spooked by ANYTHING in this movie. ESPECIALLY NOT THE CLOWN! That freaks my dad out lol:)

  • Wow...I'm so glad I don't remember this part of the movie!

  • and some people wonder why other people are sacred of clowns

  • Pedobears father D:!!!!

  • Nightmares. NIGHT. MARES.

  • and people wonder why I'm so fucked up, well now i have video proof

  • That's pretty hardcore.

  • Um...A Big-Lipped Alligator Moment?

  • Holy f----ing jesus! This scared me!!!

  • I dunno if I was some sort of hard-assed kid when I was younger or what, but this never really scared me. O_o

  • Oh yes. What a nice... children's movie. "Hides under bed forever."

  • wats the meaning of it?

  • Fireman Clown came from Hell

  • That scene always scared the ever-loving crap out of me as a kid.

  • The poster of this film actually says that it's "an adorable adventure that kids will treasure."

While I do treasure this film, if THAT is their definition of adorable, I shudder to think what their definition of cute is.

  • I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume the clown actually represents Ronald Mc.Donald and the whole scene is actually a Jungian representation of the little toasters repressed feelings of abandonment toward his former owner, the smoke is guild over past malfunctions, and the clown in yellow is his loathing of the fast-food industry that drove him away, all nicely topped-off with thoughts of suicide as depicted by the bath

No matter how much you love your toaster, NEVER take a bath with it

  • This is a dream that represents all of his fear of harming/killing people accidently, setting on fire and burning the house with the kid in it, the fork that the kid could stick in him and shock him, and the toaster falling into the water or in a more realistic situation, the sink.

at least this is what I get from this

  • High octane nightmare fuel at it's finest ladies and gentleman.

  • no wonder the world is so fucked up

this is what they watched when they were kids...

  • I always thought he was supposed to be Ronald McDonald. Honest.

  • I watched this as a child.

  • OH. MY. GOD.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS MOVIE. THIS IS MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF IT. I AM SO GLAD I NEVER SAW IT.

  • @MissBakaArtist No, don't say that! It's a fantastic movie! It's classic! I used to watch it over and over and over as a kid. Except I fast-forwarded this part because it scared me. LOL.

  • The Firefighter clown scared me half to death as a kid.

  • Man, toaster be trippin on sumthin fierce! Like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and shit.

  • I think Cracked said it best: "Sweet dreams kiddies!" Of course you shouldn't expect any after watching this, but...yeah.

  • OMGWTFBBQ?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • I understand the fear of water part, but I think they could've given it more detail in the plot though. It's still a good movie.

  • THAT CLOWN REMINDS ME OF THE JOKER

  • This scene had a very Stephen King feel about it, the boy looking at his reflection, the smoke dragging him out of the room, the widening and change of the geometry of the room and the coup de grace: the clown.

  • am i the only one that has noticed that the little kid has phineas's outfit on?

  • @phinbella4eva Wow, now that you mention it I can't believe I didn't notice it. I guess you have to have a triangular shaped head to pull off the outfit.

  • why were their gold forks with the regular ones?

  • Mr. Popo vs Clown, we gotta see it.

  • Oh...I just got the Bathtub part. Because Bath+Toaster=Suicide...Wow this movie was dark. I wish they made them like this again!

  • But why dream a clown? I don't get it.

  • @bluewulv The clown is supposed to be a firefighter, but the dream is supposed to be traumatic. I don't think a regular fireman would have been scary.

  • Seriously this is the #1 scariest nostalgic moment, Nostalgia critic. Screw the Banshee, Willy Wonka's Demon Tunnel, and Poltergiest's clown doll. This is legit nightmare fuel.

  • @looney1023 Too bad NC just posted that this is one of the movies he doesn't plan to review. I wonder if this doesn't have something to do with that decision.

  • Run? Run?! Hell yes, run! Geez that thing is scary!

  • i wonder if i can sue Disney for the emotional trama this one scene caused in my childhood

  • @MrMusicstone You shouldn't say stuff like that, because that is actually the main reason Disney won't put out any more good movies like this one. All their stuff nowadays is happy stupid crap with no life lessons.

  • @DeathByTortoise and whats so wrong with that? is there a reason to be unhappy? lol

  • @MrMusicstone I recently watched The Fox and the Hound vs. The Fox and the Hound II, and I was astounded at the lack of emotion and thought in the sequel as compared to the original. Movies can't be ENTIRELY happy, because life is not entirely happy. The old Disney movies teach kids how to deal with ALL their feelings, and how to get through tough spots in life. That's where actual meaning comes from. New Disney is completely devoid of meaning. That's what's wrong with it.

  • @DeathByTortoise And what exactly has this scene taught me OH WISE ONE...how to shit my pants?

  • @MrMusicstone No, this scene teaches you how to make toast.

  • Sadly this is not the most disturbing part of the movie, I just watched it and MY GOD! This is one of the most psychological movies I have ever seen and it's a kids movie. The most depressing part I think is either the flower dying alone, or the junkyard scene with the cars singing about their lives before they are crushed.

  • @arkayen666123

Oh god, I remember everytime I would watch this movie, I will always end up crying because the flower was longing for a friend & suddenly it got its heart torn apart & slowly started dying....

Damn, Im crying right now! The feeling came back, and honestly I love subliminal messages like these and the whole psychology behind it but why did, did a 5 year old me, cry when I would rewatch this part? Children dont really have fully developed minds but it always pained me to watch it

  • Jesus Fuck! I'm not even afraid of clowns and that scared the shit out of me! T-T

  • "The Evil Wicked Firefighting Clown's Face Looks More Like The Radical Alternative Of Gwynplaine's Face, The Joker's Face, The Disney Villains' Faces, The Pixar Villains' Faces, The Blue Meanies' Faces, Dr. Maxwell Payne's Face And The Clown With The Tear-Away Face's Face!"

  • It's OK! I didn't need to sleep tonight anyway. :)

  • I am not a very easily scared person when it comes to movies. I honestly can't remember the last time a horror movie really got to me. But when that clown leaned in and hissed that smoky "Run"... holy piss. I'm thoroughly convinced that the scariest things I've ever seen in cinema were all viewed in my childhood. 0___0

  • hahaha when tha clown says run is LoL

  • Oh my God, it's the Millennium Earl. D8

  • @YeerkSlayer OH MY GOD I literally just said the same thing to my friend, and I don't even watch D Gray Man. O__O

  • And this is a MOVIE FOR KIDS!! I think that Eli Roth was inspired in the blender's motor extraction scene for creating Hostel xDDDD

  • OH NO! IT'S THE JOKER'S TRAUMATIZING TWIN BROTHER!

  • scarred me for life as a kid.

  • It's bugging me but what makes this clown so terrifying, is it the look?

  • This is horrifying but i love the smoke that comes out of the clown's mouth when he says "Run" It's so creepy.

  • this scene scared the shit out of me for like ten years

  • Two words: GOD DAMN.

  • Can't sleep. Clowns will eat me.

  • @Jokerfan517 Apparently they'll stab you to death with an ocean of forks first.

  • don't make movies like this anymore

  • You know! For kids!

  • HOW could Nostalgia Critic leave this off of his scariest list(s)? Seriously, I'd better see a review of this movie before 2012 or someone is getting an angry email

  • i got so scared of this scene when i was little that i didn't wanna watch the rest of the movie : P

  • cause it was based on a book most likely

  • why so SERIOUS..

  • That clown used to scare the shit outta me

  • I wasn't scared much at all by this movie when I was a kid. But now, it terrifies me.

  • When I play this video, I do Jafar's Evil Laugh with the other tab opened!!!

  • THIS started my clownophobia! >.< That scene gave me nightmares as a kid! I hate that damn clown!

But damn I miss these good old days. Now adays we get Hannah Montana and Justin Beiber crap. TV isn't what it used to be... nope.

  • I finally get it now, the forks are like when you put metal objects in the top of a toaster causing an electric shock. I never really understood is when I was a kid.

So that's why it hurt so much...

  • What always bugged me about this scene was how the master can finish a whole slice of toast in 3 bites. Must have jaws like an alligator.

  • This is...one of the scariest movies I've ever seen. I used to love it as a kid but now, at twenty-three, I can safely say I'm scared shitless. O.o

  • 1:00

One of the best evil laughs ever!

  • THAT FUCKING CLOWN GAVE ME NIGHTMARES

  • it's because of awesome movies like this that i'm not a crying, spoiled, whiny brat that's scared of everything. this generation of kids are being fed nonsense and are going to grow up to be uptight morons.

  • *grabs chainsaw* time for revenge motherfucker

  • When I was a kid my mom used to make me turn my eyes away and fast forward through this part lol It wasn't until years later that I actually saw this part and understood why she did that. This whole scene is surprisingly dark and quite disturbing for a kids movie.

  • Goddamn.

  • Don't worry toaster! According to the clown, they all float!

  • Jeeze this is definitely not meant for kids. I watched this and I got scared lol they would never make something like this now a days.

  • Man I totally blocked this from my childhood. *sucks thumb

  • i bought this movie not too long ago because i loved watching it as a kid however i blocked this part from my memory and after watching it i now realize why it is im terrified of clowns to this day.

  • @Baskinrobems Have you seen Toy Story 3?

  • 0:40 its Ronald McDonald 0_O

  • Toasters have fucked up nightmares.

  • This is hilarious because of how f*cking scary it is!

  • Always loved this scene.

  • This movie is the reason why I hate clowns.

  • Creepy. o_o

  • I shat so many bricks seeing this. this thing scared the shit out of me as a kid!

  • Why did they put this in a Kid's movie? It doesn't even have shit to do with the plot! It's just a scary scene for the sake of traumatizing me! Sadistic bastards! This and that damn air conditioner dying scarred me for life.

  • @Wes919 it's the toaster's nightmare. and kind of explains that he's scared of water.

  • @subata45 It is my contention that the toasters nightmare didn't need to be seen. At the very least they could of chose something more tame so the toaster's nightmare didn't become MY nightmare too! That and toasters should be afraid of water, you ever try dunking your toaster in water? Doesn't work out well.

  • @Wes919 But don't you agree that there's nothing better than being thraumatized a bit as a kid? Thraumatization builds character y'know!

  • O_O(Runs)

  • Face while watching this scene:

    (:

    I:

    )8

    D8

  • Dude... This terrified me as a kid.... 12 years later... It still does...

  • that clowns got some fucked up teeth, lol

  • I wonder if Pixar ever plans to remake this movie in the future.

  • @mattjnor98 I hope not. not into remakes

  • Brave Little Toaster: Screwing up an entire generation since 1987!

  • "Run."

    -brix shat-

  • I first saw this demon clown when I was eight-year-old, and I have hated clowns ever since. And I couldn't believe my ears when I heard that my older siblings wanted to watch it again.

  • Wow. Holy hell. How was I not shitting my pants as a kid while watching this? Seriously, I can't even look at that clown now and not grimace.

  • i bet after this came out circus profit made a dip.

  • Why am I different? This didn't give me terror as a child.

Nor did many of the other things when I WAS JUST A BABY FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Must be my demented sense of humor... Ehehe.

  • jesus, did I block that clown from my memory?

  • I'm sorry, but whoever decided that the demonic clown/fireman should lean down and whisper "Run!" as smoke escapes from his clenched, smiling teeth is a master of horror on par with Wes Craven or John Carpenter.

  • Why the hell wasn't I scared fricking shitless at that clown as a kid?

  • 0:30 Hey it's the Smoke Monster!

  • i didn't find this part scary but when the air conditioner yelled I hid my face.

  • @jongoto yes the stupid air conditioner is why i hated this movie

  • @PinkFloydrulez Yes he did LOL

  • its been so long since i seen this movie this scene made me traumtzed when i was little they dont make cartoons lke they used to. It was like yesterday when i used vhs tapes to make a set up of dominonos and a tower of vhs tapes then knock them over.
