  • When first watched this series (started with episode #20), didn't connect the music and stories to the tributes. Still need to catch up with the storyline (only seen three episodes in all: #20, #25 and #5. The music is fantastic. Big fan of 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's jazz. Also enjoy all the music from 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and some 90's (rock/R&B/Soul/country/easy listening). Gonna take a while for an old guy like me to really get into this, but now I have the time. The music helps.

  • @ 2:20 - legendary tearing up of the elec piano.

  • 2 people can't hear this song

  • My dad is 47 years old and he said he liked this song! that just proves how bad ass this song is!

  • Interesting. Considering the fate of New York and the rest of Earth.

  • This should be New York's theme song

  • Both versions are good. I usually prefer the uptempo version, but it all depends on the mood.

  • Sounds more "laid back" than Rush.

  • 2 people obviously don't like space jazz

  • One of my favourite Cowboy Bebop song. So slick and sassy.

  • q-_-p Eargasm.

  • whats the name of the song??? cant find it to download it

  • @CoolCat2527 this is the real name. i use a site called downloads.nl, make sure to check that out and see if its there

  • @kyletm57 Thanks Dude

  • the trumpet solo is sexy... and the e. piano solo, and the bass solo. Being that i play all of those.. all i can say is well done. lol drums is sexy too

  • Hm, interesting, perhaps Rush was a "rough draft" of sorts and used in the first episode, the beginning is close enough, but the middle bits are different, and N.Y. Rush is longer. If so maybe I shouldn't have replied to ladysm's comment so fast, XD

  • im surprised how good this is. i loved the show already and the music but god damn! these are great albums in there own right.

  • which episode was this in?

  • @ladysm one of the first episodes. I think the one where he fights the lady and her sons that wear the rabbit suits. i forgot

  • @TheKeysMusic you sure it wasn't just Rush? they both sound very similar

  • Comment removed

  • @nsiderultimaseth The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides with the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and good will shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon those with great vengeance and with furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know that my name is the Lord when I lay my...

  • @Anonymoustoteh5th vengeance upon thee.

  • @nsiderultimaseth ....what?

  • Just like Rush, but simple...

    I still LOVE THIS SONG.

  • I love jazz. I love cowboys. I love badass animes. Cowboy Bebop pretty much had all the bases covered haha

  • @Cjulien91 But only one episode had a cowboy in it :(

  • @Cjulien91 for sure, thanks to Cowboy BEBOP i only confirmed how much i loved jazz and how some animes are perfect fit. (:

  • great great song!!!!!

  • The beginning is a little to fast for me, but I like the lighter touch. Yet again, the genius director Yoko Kanno hold us captive audience to her fantastic creations.

  • @wtfman880, maybe this is a bit sexist, but with the thought of two things in my mind - A, that Yoko Kanno was a female "manga-ist", and B, that one of my friends from school would marry Spike Spiegel if he was real (but she's not obsessive otakuish, just loves the character - I'm wondering if instead of a Space Cowboy or "Future" cowboy, Spike was written as a "future Romeo". If I'm drawing comparisons between today's lineup male celebrities and that of Shakespeare, Spike resembles...

  • ...what I see as a bit, and no disrespect to Spike cause I really mean a bit, of a cross between the two. Just how Spike was "incapable" of beating Andy through sheer bad luck, where Andy took on the moniker of an old traditional cowboy forced to contend against the modern version of himself, Spike. Spike's personality and appearance fits a "Space "era" Romeo". He starts off broken (yet concealing) his lost love, Julia, and continues through the story pursuing something you might consider his...

  • "newfound love" or his Juliet, in bounty-hunting. There's of course the divergence due to his seeming, intangible relationship with Faye but of course we all saw something during the final episode, he felt she was close enough to at least give her an honest description of why he was doing what he did. Of course, don't let it be to say she's another author who "Tragically fell to copying Shakespeare", I'm not saying that, but the two character likenesses are so coincidental IMO.

  • Either way, I always knew something about Spike's suit was too damn smooth to be normal.

  • @Momentum139 Spike doesn't like faye at all. There's a quote from someone asking one of the creators and him responding but it was way after the show was done and it didn't seem serious. The way spike treats faye isn't any better than the way Jet does(no different than jet and spike either), and the affection is begrudgingly, which shows how hard it is for any of these guys to get along with people(like jet's gf). Basically they're misfits, and they decide to mistfit together like family

  • @Momentum139

     kanno wasn't a writer

  • the beginning remind's me of edd ed and eddy ^_^

  • @Scissorhands14 lol now I can't UN-hear it

  • @lychicambess lol sorry...i owe you a pancake now >.> drat's

  • i play trumpet, keyboard, and bass, so all of those solos were just omg lmao this song is raw

  • wow i love the track start so smooth :)

  • a more relaxed version of rush i like it

  • hey arnold!

  • NOTHING fits a fight in outer space more than this song.

  • @raiki15 nothing fits playing TF2 than Jazz at 10AM ight before your gonna go out and have a bombastic day...

  • This kinda sounds like something off of sesame street...

  • @Kholdster you say to blues and jazz and swing Sesam music? i think u just watched to much of the Sesam Street haha

  • The Price is Right With a Twist

  • The purpose of jazz is to constantly reinvent the familiar so that it becomes unfamiliar. This rendition has a very different feel and mood and some nice soloing! Smooooth and cooool.

  • @Greenamtern Correct, this one has more of the Brubeck/Mulligan 'cool' element in the interpretation. More of a Gillespie/Miles style on Trumpet. Not heard this version before, quite outstanding. Like both for what they are. 8)

  • bill stewart on drums?

  • ps that was a reaction on "gaiaburzul"

  • eh rush sounds better to me more uh hmmmm impact y'know 0.o?

  • This one goes off on a freeform tangent, some people like that, but I'm not a fan. It just seems to deteriorate the dynamics of the song.

  • I'd have to agree with you on this. It's still very good, but I much prefer the original "Rush" for those reasons.

  • Funny, I prefer N.Y. by a mile :)

  • @Hykazu

Concur with the freeform tangent, but it's quite appropriate in the context of the show. I think it really adds to the somewhat chaotic environments the show tends to bring them. Fast paced, lack of consitency and direction, improvising with the moment. Musically confusing, but thematically very appropriate.

  • sensazional jazz orgasmico

  • *orgasm* <33

  • uhuh...

I knew the music of cowboy bebop was great, but I didn't espect this XD

  • This tune is way hip... I wish we had a Chris Potter (it is Potter, right?) solo though. He's a monster tenor player.

That bass player tore the [explicative] outta his solo! Love a good jazz elec bass.

  • I actually liked this one more than Rush. I don't know why. Could just be that I heard this one first.

  • nope i heard the other rush first and i like this better :] ur not alone

  • @themidnightjudge1 the original rush is in the first episode. ny rush is in the third episode. so you DID hear the original first.=D

  • @videoburner1984 depends on if hes saw the first pisode first. the first time i saw this series it was on tv and i didnt watch till about episode 10. then i watched the rest during replays.

  • i remember this from the wild horses episode !

  • yeah I love this song is fantastic

    see you

  • I love this track, but for some reason, I love just plain "Rush" more. Guess because it has more of a...punch ?

  • yeah, I can see how, this one is great and all but it lacks the high and fast overtures that "Rush" Delievers

  • Feeling that jazz spirit! i can feel spike running and gunning as this song plays.

  • YES! i remember this song. love cowboy bebop. jazz + slick and weird characters = amazing anime

  • Makes me think of NYC. Wondering around Brooklyn during rush hour!

  • Manhattan has more people and sights but Brooklyn has more SOUL!

  • mmm-mmm-mmm.

truer words can not be spoken

  • Gotta agree there.

  • Also more shootings.

    Yay shootings!

  • Very nice song, especiallly from 2:19. Makes me feel a lot happier after i heard it. I must say though, the quality is a bit poor, cause there are some sounds that you hear very low. But thanks for uploading anyway :))

  • Excellent...The best anime ots...Just Amazing

  • seems that way......lol

  • wheres that song where the oprea is at the end...

  • 5/5

  • I love this song is soo... Active! i dont know how to explain it! xD

  • Wasn't this the Song for the fight between Spike and the Women in The Movie (Can't Remember her name for the life of me...)

  • No, that was clutch

  • Oh Thanx, Similar Tunes though.

  • You're welcome, I personally think Clutch is better than N.Y. rush but I don't either of the two can top the original Rush. Oh, and BTW the name of the girl you're thinking of is Electra Ovilo

  • Thanx, See I'd remember that If I got the chance to watch it more

  • You're welcome. I love the Cowboy Bebop Movie. As you can tell from my user name that I like Cowboy Bebop A LOT.

  • it was the fight between Spike and Azimov in the first episode

  • actually this is the casino episode fight, rush is the first episode.

  • no it wasnt it was with azimov mate. when he uses the line you gotta stop thinking with your eyes and start thinking with your feet

  • It was actually Rush that was used with the Asimov fight. This is like a remixed version of Rush; Rush is more upbeat and it has a faster tempo, and it's louder, while NY Rush is a calmer, cooler, and even more jazzier song.

  • No that was a different one. and her name was Electra

  • that is the movie though.....not the show/series

  • ( BUZZER )

    wrong answer,

this song was in the very first episode

  • CORRECT, and for linkfreak *lux luther face* WROONG!

  • the comment i replied to was removed....wat was WHS11SOP original comment....i dont even remeber

  • i hate to nerd it up here but this is the quintet version which was on ep 3 and some others. The big band version of this song with the guitar player is the one from the first episode

  • Aww GREAT! U got nerd ALL OVER THE PLACE!!

Whose gonna clean this up now?

...lol thanks for the info. I thought it sounded a little different

  • If I like Jazz music like this, what other songs/Jazz artists and musicians would you recommend me listening to???

  • Anything done by John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Younger Quincy Jones, etc

  • I love this song

  • why not?

  • Wat.
