Women don't generally want it stated or admitted that their pregnancies make them bulkier and heavier, and here he's stating it in a pretty obnoxious question of the actual physical possibilities. It's not solely asking how she can be comfortable sitting into a airplane seat, but how she can physically fit herself into a seat as well. Like, how did you pull that one off.  And it's her man who made this blunt statement to her, in front of others. Of course he's drunk, so he's dumber right now.
