  • The WWf really sabotaged DDP's career in the long run

  • I remember watching this on tape the night after, the crowd pop is unreal, shame its not like that no more.

  • Undertaker, now make JOSEPH KONY famous.

  • Now THAT is a pop

  • Furious Regal!

  • BUGGER OFF

  • whats up with the Brit william regal and tajiri? D:

  • THAT POP!!!!

  • Wrestling fans will always cheer a suprise, but they literally start booing 15 seconds after he takes the mask off. It didn't have much to do with reputation at all, the fans went apeshit when Lance Storm debuted. The general fan at the time either watched WWF or WCW, not both. So the GENERAL FAN, probably wasn't exactly sure who Page was.

  • @Bravesrtops What the hell are you smoking? LESS than general fans knew who Goldberg AND Steve Austin was back then.

  • @tbwise826 Of course they knew who Goldberg and Steve Austin were. Those are two of the biggest stars of all time. DDP was hella talented but he CERTAINLY was not on the level of those two. The general fan watched either WWE or WCW, not both.

  • @Bravesrtops Are you kidding me? The "general" wrestling fans around here know who DDP was and is.

  • @tbwise826 Around here on youtube? I'm sure they do. There is a difference between the group of us that is "smart" to the business who knew exactly who he was and probably followed both companies, and the general fan who watches sporadically and probably has a hard time figuring out who is on their OWN roster, much less another companies. But it appears you are going to argue with me because you like DDP, hey I do too. But when you lump him in with Goldberg and Austin. . . c'mon man.

  • what kind of charisma this man have !! his awesome

  • The dude in the front row with the drink was like WTF?!?

  • jheri curl ddp > wwf ddp

  • this was a holy shit moment!

  • The crowds were bigger and louder back then. You just need to listen to the pops like this and Triple H returns (Only 1 i could think of, sorry) and you can hear the differences between then and now.

  • Are you guys watching the same video, those are clearly boos and jeering, not cheering.

  • @alchemicrb We are watching the same video you're the one with the hearing problem. It's very clear @ 1:51 the crowd cheers because DDP was a great surprise. And yes they start booing ( a little) latter only because he cut into his heel promo.

  • @seanthomxx I took a good listen and yeah, that is still a hell of alot more booing then cheering. Maybe it's cause he came out as taker.

  • I remember at the time everyone hated this but when u look back the idea was great, the reveal was classic but the matches were shocking and ddp was constantly squashed

  • My God, Paul shut UP! I'm tryin' to listen to 'Rollin'' here!

  • 1:48.... Listen to the ovation for him ^__^ , boy i wish it was like that these days,

  • @fkofilee It can't be! Vince Mcfag made WWE into a kid show again like the early 90's! lol~ Well it's probably a business decision to get more endorsers!

  • @MMAExpertKnower Amen, people don't look at it like what it is, a BUSINESS. The bottom line is the almighty dollar.

  • and nobody saw it coming at the time.

  • if undertaker knew what he knows now he would have told DDP to take the skank

  • @yabigspoon Vince McMahon made a lot of former WCW guys jobbers because he hated WCW so much and because of burying former WCW guys, The Icon Sting stayed away from the WWE because he explained in a interview on how Vince and the storylines disrespected the WCW guys and all of what they already accomplished! And that is why some former WCW guys never went to the WWE, instead they went to TNA!

  • 1:50 for best crowd reaction ever

  • @Empest Nope, good pop but helllllll no.

  • my ten year old self busted a glorious load that day i saw DDP cuz i first watched WCW at the time. god the memories

  • i miss heyman

  • FEEL THE BANG!!!

  • DDP, one of the best to step in a ring :D

  • The first idea for the angle was cool, DDP comes in a pretends to stalk Taker's wife to get him riled up and unfocused and DDP ends up making a name for himself, but they ended it way too son and when they made the stalker part "real" and lost this part of his motivation it became a lame run-of-the-mill angle....

  • "Well you don't have to rub it in!" Heyman did such a good job mirroring that JR/King dynamic.

  • That's not a bad thing...That's a good thing.

  • SELF HIGH FIVE!

  • Randy Orton! Like The Diamond Cutter, You Never Saw It Coming!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I hated Bikertaker. :(

  • Regal sounds Japanese at the start rather than sounding like he's saying "go on sod off, bugger off!" aha

  • wow, i dint expect regal telling me to bugger off when i click the video

  • @TGSZLukeAZ lol

  • This was 11 years ago. People have aged a lot since then.

  • Listen to that roar when fans see it's DDP, the guy had never been in a WWF ring before yet listen to the cheers he gets cause of his reputation from WCW. I tell you if he had gotten a proper push he could've been one of the top stars at this time with Rock, Austin, Taker, Angle etc

  • @wogacelli I agree, all WCW's former talent weren't used properly by the WWF and they ended up looking weak. No wonder Sting said he wouldn't go to that promotion because he feared for what they'd do to his character...

  • @andykochanowski some select WCW Talent was used properly, Booker T, Gregory Helms and Lance Storm (until his final year) and Goldberg were used fine. Goldberg's wwe run just got a bad rep because he actually lost, even though he squashed the rock in his debut. DDP Having the European title was kinda like holding the IC/USA/TV title, his team up with Christian was very memorable and good. Besides DDP was too old to do alot, his time had come and gone. I would say he was treated fairly enough

  • Sting didn't go because of The Rock and I don't blame him.

  • @wogacelli i hear they tried pushin him i am not sure why it took them so long, he still is in top shape... WWE should put him on tv atleast as a wrestler or manager

  • @wogacelli i agree mcmahn's story line that he gave him suckkkkeddd. i remember something bout ddp doing that smiling thing. how dumb was that! mcmahn didnt want wcw wrestlers to blow. flair was the exception.

  • @wogacelli You obviously havn't seen wm6 when he comes out with HTM and Greg Valentine.

  • @wogacelli spot on that, the feud with taker should have been the start of bigger and better things but no wwe ended up turning him into a jobber

  • @wogacelli actually DDP didnt get pushed because he was injured and thus his carrier was shortened.

  • @daydayakasmokey You mean career right?

  • @bluefukingreene Yup. DDP let his contract expire on purpose. He knew he couldn't wrestle anymore.

  • @wogacelli well you would be telling wrong. The man sucked.

  • @wogacelli They pushed the hell out of him in WCW, and It would have been very hard to justify pushing him to the moon in WWE because he was already 45 years old in 2001.

  • @wogacelli Yes! to this day, it angers me how they used DDP and many others who could've been great stars.

  • @wogacelli Yeah they really cocked up DDP's wwe run.

  • @wogacelli I AGREE MATE, HE WAS A GREAT PERFORMER/WRESTLER, SHAME HE NEVER GOT A PUSH, KINDA LIKE SCOTT HALL IN HIS SECOND RUN, AND BOOKER T.

  • @wogacelli he was already in his 40's when he arrived at the wwe and he was suffering from multiple injuries during his run in the wwe. They could have given him a bigger pudh none the less but vince is more into pushing the younger guys and since he was old and had just arrived to the company they probably decided not to do so.

  • This was awesome man, I remember almost pulling my cousin off the couch when he took that mask off.

  • I remenber these old days, when i was proud to say i am a wwf fan. but now,...santino marella, john shena, kofy kingstone, hornswaggle. i'ts a joke!

  • good promo

  • @BlackSabbathory Really, like in Chris Jericho's Debut?

  • Self ^5 lmaooo

  • the good old days

  • lol ddp is a stalker ddp is a sicko lol

  • No one from WCW learned how to cut a promo, the lack of energy in this room reminds me just of a WCW Nitro promo

  • DDP is such white trash

  • @CheapJabroni No go fuck yourself

  • If DDP was so good, why did this video start to suck the second he started talking? He got a huge pop but then the crowd went quiet... for five boring minutes

  • DDP 2012 HALL OF FAME!

  • Comment removed

  • THE TRUE PEOPLE'S CHAMPION!

The Rock was good but DDP was, is and will be better than him. He had talent, microphone, charisma. He's a legend.

  • @MRHardcoreFan0 OMG dude please.

  • this was so awesome until he had that retarded smiling gimmick...no wonder sting never went to wwe.

  • Stuff like this shows what a stupid a..hole Vince is.

  • "Here comes some hideously non-threatening security."

  • PLEASE don't say that DDP blows goats for busfare and then walks home! He has a bike.

  • DDP for Royal Rumble!!!

  • Great debut and it all went downhill from here. The total destruction of DDP was what pretty much lost me as a WWF/WWE hardcore fan. Totally unnecessary. People liked him. I don't care what smarks think. He was popular, he was over. They squashed him to nothing. It made no sense. It turned any would be WCW convert off to the WWE. WWE kept doing a downward spiral in ratings for nearly four straight years before leveling off. Good. They can thank themselves for that.

  • @MuttonAndTheHam He hurt his back, he wasn't going to get the big push man. Would you push a 45 year old man with a bad back from a bankrupted company? I wouldn't, that would be terrible business.

  • You will never, NEVER hear a pop like that these days. Crowds are dead.

  • Idiot left GUARANTEED WCW money for a few years to take a buyout and lesser money to lose to the Undertaker....Just cuz Taker's a Main Eventer doesn't mean you are, Page...

  • @r2g1 ... WCW was bought out

  • @MrSuperBacon WWE bought WCW but WWE had their pick as to who's contracts they wanted to keep and who they didn't. Everyone was under contract to AOL-Time Warner at the time of the Sale and WWE didn't buy the contracts just the company. Top guys like Sting, Goldberg, Hogan, etc. still had big money contracts that were guaranteed but WWE didn't have to pay them they were paid by AOL-TW. If they wanted to come to WWE, WWE would buy out their contracts for roughly half the price.

  • @r2g1 Did you hear that pop? Page obviously should have been a Main Eventer. WWF just wanted to bury him because he was a WCW guy. Just like they buried the rest of them that didn't jump ship before the merger. The only one that really gets any respect now is Booker and that's because he took his shitty roles (King Booker) and rolled with em. Goldberg never had the stamina for matches longer than 5 minutes. He'd fit perfect with today's product.

  • @MacUser428 I heard the pop and it was big,Jericho gotta big pop when he returned but then it died out cuz WWE doesn't know what to do with anyone. WWE bought out the Mid carders cuz they would make more in WWE then their WCW contracts. If anyone from WCW shoulda been pushed it was Scott Steiner. He got huge pops but HHH didn't wanna drop the belt to ANYBODY which is why WWE is the shits these days. Punks so watered down now its embarrassing watching him feud with Johny Ace Now

  • The moment DDP took off his baraclava was the moment WWE killed his fantastic career.

  • how in the bloody heck do you eff up wrestlers like DDP and Goldberg? those are two wrestlers that you don't write. you let them do their thing and that's gold. i could never understand this

  • Goldberg should've been at Invasion

  • @AVFCsi02 he couldve if the wwe wanted to spend more money

  • @AVFCsi02 Goldbergs WCW contract was too expensive

  • Great debut. Great opening monologue that went on FAR too long and a good ending. If they'd cut the time down by about half, this would've been better.

  • such a talented wrestler. As a kid i loved watching him in the WCW.

  • Take note modern wrestlers (especially WWE "Superstars"): THIS is what talent looks like, and more importantly, this is what talent SOUNDS like.

  • @pkocherAFS Haha that was definitely a scripted promo brother.

  • Alright, we got the point after the first 2 minuets. Getting a little long, DDP.

  • Limp Bizkit was Taker's intro music... sigh...

  • Well it was nice of the security to let DDP finish his 7 min promo... -_-

  • Make Me Famous!

one of the best catch phrases in wrestling and thee best comeback for that..

DDP said that when Vince pitched the idea he looked over at Kimberly as if to say "u think ppl will believe i'm stalking sarah when i have THIS.."

it sad this man is truly one of the greats.

his matches were always perfect. his stick was great. ...DDP needs to be involved in wrestling

  • i wish he would've had a better run with wwe before his back problems forced him to stop

  • MAKE. ME. FAMOUS.

  • From Booing to Cheering the power of DDP

  • This was a great time in Wrestling, with all the WCW stars coming in to the WWF after Vince bought the league.

  • golden age of wrestling..

  • it was ment of bin vince macman

  • 1:50 what a pop

  • Comment removed

  • self high five.

  • I can't stop laughing at the 1st 3 seconds. haha

  • BLOODY HELL!

  • *sigh* And thus the WCW/WWF feud was sunk before the first punch was even thrown........

  • I remember watching this when on TV, and I dropped my remote and went nuts. XD

  • It's pretty obvious that Page was just going after 'Taker's wife to get at him. It's not like he wanted her; he wanted 'Taker.

  • @Flagg1991 That's actually what I thought! I don't even remember him stalking Taker's wife, I remember him saying "Make me famous!" and wanting the Undertaker to do just that.

  • OMGOSH!!!!! I'VE NEVER SEEN THIS!!!!! Stuff the RKO! Diamond 'friggin' Cutter all the friggin' WAY!!!!!

  • Can't believe how they ruined DDP, he was my favourite guy in WCW.

  • debuted the day after my birthday, good times

  • This feud was "wrestlecrap"!

First of all: If I have Kimberly why would I take Taker`s horse faced old lady - So nobody believed this bullshit!

Second: It wasn`t even a real feud - WCW talent pretty much got buried on WWF TV...

  • @SuperJuliusC Except for Booker T and a few others

  • this is honestly one the biggest pops i've heard for a debut, the wwf fucked up his persona so badly. if he was a wwf wrestler returning from injury or whatever he would have got a title run but because he was from wcw he got stuck with shit personas in the wwf, pure waste of talent and charisma..

  • @wizzard400: Yep. That pretty much covers it.

  • was this during the begining the invasion

  • @123nyc1 yep

  • @123nyc1 I think it was about half way through, The Rock came back in July and that was towards the end

  • i was laughing so hard when william regal was freking out at the start of the video

  • Taker, you idiot!

  • I only watch this video for Regal telling Tajiri to BUGGER OFF

  • LoL

  • Where is Michael Cole when you need him? LOLZ

  • BANG!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You Hear Dat Fucking Crowd

  • That they put DDP stalking Taker's horse face wife, when he's married to his incredibly hot wife Kimberly Page, was a joke.

  • @IrishMetal BANG!!!

  • @TheMarkc SELF HIGH FIVE!

  • @IrishMetal self high BANG ... five

  • @IrishMetal but the point was he wanted to get "the biggest dog in the yard" pissed off. This was the best way

  • @topdoginthepin the problem was it wasn't. He was beaten like a jobber by Taker and then actually LOST to Sara, Taker's wife in a match. DDP should have been a face or a tweener like RVD. listen to that reaction!

  • @IrishMetal it's called a storyline dumbass, like when HHH was dating Stephanie and he dry-humped a manikin

  • @steiner8burgerston Fuck you dickhead. Its a fucking STUPID ASS STORYLINE. Just cause its a storyline doesn't mean it can be stupid

  • @steiner8burgerston OH! let me guess, when Hornswoggle was beating Chavo all the time? That was just a storyline, derp, so its totally believeable.

  • @IrishMetal yea a storyline like Undertaker, crucifying people, and forming a cult, a 80 year old woman giving birth to a hand, a burned buy in a leather mask, yea totally believable, oh wait it was the Atitude Era and everything was perfect in the Atittude Era

  • @steiner8burgerston And those storylines were shit as well, the attitude era was great but there was a lot of shit in it as well.

  • i remember this like it was yesterday...man ddp was stalking undertakers wife aka ex wife and undertaker was pissed as hell ...

  • THIS WAS ONE SURPRISE THAT WAS KEPT QUITE FOR SO LONG AND MADE DDP ENTRANCE IN TO WWE COOL

    THEN THEY RUINED IT

  • WWF buried DDP when they made him a heel to Undertaker. DDP should never be heel. He is 100% better as a babyface. Then they made him into a motivational character that even The Rock couldn't have gotten over with the fans

  • @JimRoss

You hear that? From 1:55 ...that is why that Jim Ross' mouth "sickness" continues to get worse and worse, it will never get better. That fat pig should have SHUT-THE-FUCK-UP the moment DDP removed his mask because WE CAN STILL HEAR THAT CROWD CHANT "DDP".

  • I do not get why wwe gave some of the wcw and ecw guys such Amazing debuts and great way to come into the business just to totally disrespect, underuse and squash them months later I mean ddps pop tazzs pop and stieners pop they all coulda been great in wwe but no they had there "5 mins of fame" then got thrown to the side.

  • @vcstallion DDP was injured and retired less than a year later, so he was "totally disreseoect.underuse and squash" Steiner botched and was way out of his prime like DDP was, Tazz sucked

  • DDP'S THE STALKER! DDP'S A SICKO!

    *CROWD CHEERS WILDLY*

    LMFAO HAHAHA

  • WWF dropped the ball on DDP

  • @gavgavgavgavgav3 no they didnt dumbass they put him in a main event feud with Undertaker, DDP was in his mid-40's wayy out of his prime was injured..then went to the midcard to limit his ring time, DDP retired less than a year later..not WWF's fault. think b4 u bitch

  • @steiner8burgerston

DDP was still a draw at thispoint. It wasnt his fault that he was injured but all i'm saying is that the WWF should not of put him in a feud were he was a 'stalker'. Yes put him in a feud with the undertaker but not in this way

  • Disagree with DDP, Taker showed weakness against Giant Gonzales back in the day, until he beat him of course lol.

  • Damn WWE really fucked up his gimmick smh

  • @jskyl14 actaully it was DDP's idea for that gimmick at the end of his career, not WWE

  • @Allapattahgoon His teeth gimmick was his idea? lol whyyy

  • LONG LIVE WCW!! DDP STING NWO 4 LIFE!

  • @SavageTilley Those were the days. W.W.W.Y.K.I.

  • Diamond Cutter > RKO

  • Damn... I miss WCW.

  • DDP is another mid card jabrone that Scott Hall did a favor for.

  • @Number1StarSB Yeah, the Raw crowd gave one of its loudest pops ever when a midcard nothing debuted on their program.

Thank goodness Scott Hall has the ability to turn people into top guys in wrestling and make the fans go crazy for them. Screw Vince McMahon, Scott Hall should be booking.

  • @Number1StarSB Did Scott Hall also get DDP to carry Goldberg to the best match he ever had?

You'd think it'd been Flair, Triple H, or HBK, or whoever else the WWE deems as the greatest shit in history that carried him to an epic match.

But nope....it was just that mid card idiot who Scott Hall created.

  • Man this was one of the biggest ball drops WWE Ever had. They used him terribly and this promo was money to this day I just don't understand it.

  • wow a fuckin pop
