A380 Cabin Interior Quick Review: 1. Nasty cattle class seating as always for the hoi polloi. 2. Fatties can sit in business class no problem, but of course can't afford to. 3. Welcome (hand) relief for the VIPs in the near privacy of their suites as long as those air slaves aren't walking past with their crackers and cheese.
they have quite good looking suites and seats on business but the problem is that you have ask an attendant or adjust the seat yourself if you want to sleep, which takes time. That's not flexbility and it's not what's needed in these classes.
When sitting on top of thousands of gallons of aviation fuel in a metal tube at 33,000 feet, I'm more interested in the competennce of the crew and the structural integrity of the airframe, avionics and engines rather than the dining arrangements and entertainment systems. "An engine has exploded"."Don't worry, the steak is exquisite and Police Academy 12 is about to start".
@TRUFFLEHOUNDEXPRESS funny, but you make a good point. having relatives who work as Aircraft engineers, Boeing make far superior aircraft than Airbus. so if u take away the plush seats and steak, your actually getting a raw and dangerous deal.
@NZFly101 - Lol. I guess you are joking, right? Being an aicraft engineer, there is NO comparison between Boeing and Airbus. Airbus aircrafts are superior and much better than boeing aircrafts. Really, be rational and honest. Even Brazilian and Canadian aircrafts are better than Boeing aircrafts.
@jmcmik both boeing and airbus make great airplanes look at the 777 it ulmost has a perfect crash record...both companies have there ups and downs and differs in style and performance
@1957NewYorker Lol! It looks beautiful in my opinion. If you want a 747, well, you can find pieces everywhere (mountains, oceans, desert, forests, etc.). Help yourself.
I think the vast majority of people just want a comfortable seat with decent food and a good entertainment system on their flight rather than all that stuff that most people can't afford anyway. Even business's are cutting back on staff travel and shifting employees to enonomy rather than business in an effort to save some money, and rightly so.
If I was a big rich prick, I'd get an a380 plated with gold. I'd have gold toilets, and a box of $100 dollar bills in each shitter to wipe my ass on. I'd put all the used, shit covered, bills in a big bag and have some poor person (anyone worth less than a half a billion) suck my cock once I got on the ground for the chance that I might give them the bag of shit covered bills if he/she did a good enough job of schobbing my knob.
If MY a380 total price was less than a billion, I'd feel cheap:
737 to every Boeing fan is an aircraft that needs to go in an museum as an antique. 737 is an dangerous plane to travel . If you love your life go and sit in some other aircraft. This is now nothing but rusted antique of 70s. Recently in Jamaica a rusted 737-800 of the 70s and 80s crashed. LOL the engine fell off, and the wheel colapsed LOL.Check it out American airlines DEC 22, 2009
Boeing has more crashes than Airbus. Look at the crash record history. All Boeing aircrafts are rusted, antique, and aging aircrafts of the 60s. Now the new aircrafts like 787, and 747-8, it is a cheap replacement. If I take old song of Elvis Presley, and remix it, It is still an old song but new music. Same with 747-8 and 787, it is an old voice, meaning body frame, with new music like lightening, bigger windows. Nothing different LOL.
Your chance of being in a crash on a Boeing or an Airbus are incredibly close to 0. In the United States 40,000 passenger flights take off and land every day. A mixture of Boeing, Airbus and Embraer. That's over 100 million flights since the last one crashed on 9/11/01.
American made aircrafts isnt safe. Only thing Americans care is money, not safety. 70% of all aircraft accidents are caused of American made planes. European planes are more safe, but they are more expensive and less popular in aircraft companies. Finn air buys these expensive planes and it can be seen on aircraft accident countings. Finn Air have never been on accident which have killed people.
@fachy1981 Southwest Airlines carries the most people of any US carrier and uses the Boeing 737 exclusively. In 38 years they have never had an accident that killed crew or passengers.
@fachy1981 You are stupid. The airline is, 90% of the time, to blame for all these crashes. It's either pilot error or maintenance-issues. It has occurred but a few times that an aircraft has fallen out of the sky for reasons other than those. Do you really think that Boeing would be making money if it designed faulty airplanes? Do you think airlines would buy Boeing aircraft in that case? Obviously, that's an extremely stupid statement on your part.
@fachy1981 And just so you know, do you really think Lufthansa, Air France, Emirates, Singapore, Qantas, etc. bought their Airbus at list price? Hell no. They buy them below list price, way below list price. Same thing goes with Boeing. Class-by-class the aircraft from the two companies are relatively equal in price. The only deciding factor is a) nationalism, or b) fleet commonality.
@fachy1981 Finally, why don't you compare the total number of Boeing commercial aircraft produced that have crashed to the total number of Airbus commercial aircraft produced that have crashed within a ten year time frame (not including 9/11 and crashes that stemmed from human error) and come back with your "European planes are more safe" statement. The numbers are damn near identical.
@fachy1981 but then again you also have to remember that the 737 is the most prolific plane in the sky. Of course they're going to have more deaths and faster kills...there's SO many 737's in the air.
If more people ride on a certain kind of plane, it is more likely for that type of plane to crash and cause more injuries because it's the most popular passenger jet.
A380 will make air tarvel much better than it is currently because a full A380 makes more money than any other airliner that is currently in service. An A380 series starts making profit at 65% full capacity.
Well when those 747 need to replaced. Do you think airlines will choose the outdated and older 747-8 airframe that has less passenger capacity and less passenger comforts and doign all of this while using more fuel per passenger. The choice is obvious. Airlines will choose A380. Once you have flown in A380, you will never want to fly in 747 again. The next wave of A380 will be more efficent. In the future we can look to many improvements in the A380 frame.
I think 747-800 is a cheap and boring replacement for the classic 747-400 series in my minds eye. Boeing did not want to invest in all new 747 replacement as it was seen as too risky a buisness venture. I applaud Airbus once again for taking the risk and pushing the envelope in terms of innovation and design technologies. I think Airbus have pushed aviation 20 years into the future whereas Boeing are still tinkering with a 1960s 747 design.
i'm not going to get into a debate with some spamming airbus fan. that would be like debating George W over what what would be considered common sense. You'll always lose to the incompetent. Wouldn't you disagree?
Boeing is 10 years behind Airbus. Airlines that use 747-400 will be looking to upgrade in the new future and it seems A380 is the most popular choice. Airlines don't just want another 747 derivitive. They want a completely new airliner.
Now with the delays of 787 it seems A350will enter market 2-3 years after 787 which should make for an interesting market. A350 can also take advantage of building second making A350 with slightly better technologies than 787.
The feeling of the ecceleration on takeoff, being pushed into your seat as you lift off and during a steep bank, also the feeling of weightlessness when you hit light turbulence and you rise out of your seat a bit. Being able to see 150 plus miles on a clear day while simultaneously watching the ground escape beneath you and become farther away.
Number 1: It's so different! People dream of flying and that is what makes the aeroplane popular!
Number 2: Because its again, a different enviroment! The views, the seats are so interesting and it is a hell of a lot quicker and safer than your average car or train!
Question 3: The most amazing part is the takeoff and landing because it is nervewracking and makes you curious. It also gives you a feeling I can't describe, but people are different in every way. :)
I love SIA! It is totally awesome! The economy seats are most comfortable, and the TV screens are huge! Totally awesome! AND 70+ channels?! Oh em gee! :D
will it work financially? i bet one of those suites will cost over £1,000 for a return from say heathrow to singapore. will they find enought people to fill it and make it work?
3DPeter. Airbus isnt unsafe, so isnt Boeing either. Both are great companys.
But i can tell you, that when you scrap an aircraft you are doing it because the airframe is getting old and there is a greater chance of failure of the aircraft.
They _MOSTLY_ just scrap just the airplane, landing gear and stuff like that, because Engines and some of the electronic components have a much longer lifetime.
usually the company that owns the scrapped plane uses the engines and such, _NOT_ new airplanes
Both Airbus and Boeing had their fair share in having planes either crash or having major technical issues. To say Airbus is safer then Boeing is something that does not hold water in a debate.
shaquo890 dude, you are just jealous that the biggest aircraft is no longer in american hands. Also, airbus is building many parts in the usa today because labour is dead cheap because of the fall of the dollar. We europeans can't sell you anything no more because you can't affort expencive euro stuff anymore, and that's why we buy everything from you, because everything american made
is dead cheap for us euro's these days.
Even a single sheat of toiletpaper is worth more than your dollars.
its nice to fly with it but dont expect the individual monitor entertainment system are working haha sure some of it doesnt work especially in economy...wish u guys got the good seat n monitor :p
dude the airbus a380 is such a beautiful aircraft but the thing is that with the number of airplanes that have fallen out of the sky because of engine problems and ahev crashed because of a problem with any part of the aircraft that airbus has its ridiculous how these arilines keep buying these unsafe aircarft anyways boeing is the best even if it doesnt have a plane with full double decks its stillt he safest
oh ya! study your avaition history & you will surely notice that Boeing planes often involved in air disaster both airliner and fighter jets and almost all are fatal accident especially their 737's models
Even economy in the SingAir A380 is pretty nice (I flew it from Singapore to Sydney just last week), but those suites are out of this world! Would that I had the kind of money to afford them...
Hmm..the Y class is nice.I like the cup holder. The business class i wish they can put more wider tv.Where they put the suites?Upperdeck or lower deck? How about Y?Which one is longer?B747 or A380?I wish the carrier aircraft(trasnport the aircraft part and like a big whale) can be made as a passanger aircraft.I love that aircraft..
what next after the a380 and the 787 something bigger or better. man rich people are exstremly and veary vary luck i wish i could go on a airplean that good and that big.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Economy class looks remarkably similar to the current economy class I fly in. WTF!??! When I first saw this plane I thought, FINALLY, I can go to the bar and chin wag with the girls there or perhaps shoot some pool or go for a couple of laps in the pool. REALITY, my friends, is you are STILL strapped down like Hanibal Lector...next, the FA's will serve Liver and FAVA BEANS! Fuck you Airbus!!!
And so the a38ercial flight era begins!SIA a380 is Wonderfull i just cant wait to be in it and i cant also wait to see other arlines with it in service!!! their first class is so roomy! Incredible, and economy has a nice IFE( in - flight- entertainment with AVOD!
phenomenal! Definitely the one to beat. First and business class look fantastic, like on a private jet. Shame that economy (cattle) class still looks the same! I guess there won't be any gyms, shops and waterfalls on board. Except on the one that's been bought privately so rumour has it!
Economy offers more than meets the eye jamesbondy07. Its a great experience; I've alrady gone into detail on other vids but trust me. The design has been revamped to provide more knee and legroom without compromising too much on the number of seats. LCD screen with 1000 option AVOD. Upgraded dining + service, blankets, givenchy toiletries kit for economy too!
Don't know how long it would take to get to sit in one of these. Sounds like economy is alot better than the B747 which is a nightmare when the pax in front puts his seat back full! And the new LCD screens is an improvement on the existing on the B747s which are tiny when compared to the ones on Etihad airways. What do you mean by upgraded dining? And will they be giving out givenchy toiletries all the time or is it more likely to do with the promotion of the new aircraft?
When i say upgraded dining the food is not significantly better but they have nice touches that seem to come with the meals that weren't usually served. Also, the givenchy toiletries look nice for economy and are not just a promotion. This same economy is on SQ's new Boeing 777-300ER and people have received the basic toiletries kit.
Hey sfotpe, I've seen this guy tokusil's other comments. He was taking trash about Koreans on a Korean Air vid and he goes around saying Japanese things and JAL are the best.

*what is the most amazing part of flying that motivate us to fly in commerical airliner over and over again?

Number 1: It's so different! People dream of flying and that is what makes the aeroplane popular!
Number 2: Because its again, a different enviroment! The views, the seats are so interesting and it is a hell of a lot quicker and safer than your average car or train!
Question 3: The most amazing part is the takeoff and landing because it is nervewracking and makes you curious. It also gives you a feeling I can't describe, but people are different in every way. :)

sfotpe 2 years ago
I don't know about you but I've never been on a flight and said " you know I wish there were 100 more people on this plane".

How much would a suite ticket be for the a380?
SquirrelGasm 2 years ago
depends how long the flight, and currency. usually in GBP its about £3500 from london to singapore

How about the load factor of the Singapore Airlines Airbuses a 380 today in febuary 2009?
Ahuntsicspotter 3 years ago
a little low due to the economy recession in the world. Every airline is effected.

This year 15 Airbus a 380 will be delivered. If yes what airlines will receive the Airbus a 380 in 2009?

GaCCow 3 years ago
btw, i saw a documetory on discovery were they scrap a old 747, and you know what?
most parts are going to be re-used, so don't
bash airbus about being unsafe, because they do not use second hand parts to keep their
planes flying and save a few bucks like american airliners do.
3DPeter 3 years ago
Both Airbus and Boeing had their fair share in having planes either crash or having major technical issues. To say Airbus is safer then Boeing is something that does not hold water in a debate.
xxquiker 3 years ago
shaquo890 dude, you are just jealous that the biggest aircraft is no longer in american hands.

CyberShotz 3 years ago
dude the airbus a380 is such a beautiful aircraft but the thing is that with the number of airplanes that have fallen out of the sky because of engine problems and ahev crashed because of a problem with any part of the aircraft that airbus has its ridiculous how these arilines keep buying these unsafe aircarft anyways boeing is the best even if it doesnt have a plane with full double decks its stillt he safest
shaquo890 3 years ago
oh ya! study your avaition history & you will surely notice that Boeing planes often involved in air disaster both airliner and fighter jets and almost all are fatal accident especially their 737's models

Hmm..the Y class is nice.I like the cup holder. The business class i wish they can put more wider tv.Where they put the suites?Upperdeck or lower deck? How about Y?Which one is longer?B747 or A380?I wish the carrier aircraft(trasnport the aircraft part and like a big whale) can be made as a passanger aircraft.I love that aircraft..
bonzaimy 4 years ago
suites are located on the main deck, between doors 1 and 2. The a380 is a little bit longer then the b747.

uh no, your fucken crazy if you think it cost $17,000! No airline in thier right minds will charge that much!
Njamc84678 dont listen to 7789902. It only cost 7,000-75,00 atleast for a roundtrip ticket on SIA new suites

7789902 4 years ago
Well, Airbus build to order, so its up to the airlines what they have inside, if they wanted swimming pools, im sure they would have them...
Ultimatum08 4 years ago
your a dumbass if you think an airline would offer this kind of things. Keep dreaming

phenomenal! Definitely the one to beat. First and business class look fantastic, like on a private jet. Shame that economy (cattle) class still looks the same! I guess there won't be any gyms, shops and waterfalls on board. Except on the one that's been bought privately so rumour has it!
jamesbondy07 4 years ago
Economy offers more than meets the eye jamesbondy07. Its a great experience; I've alrady gone into detail on other vids but trust me. The design has been revamped to provide more knee and legroom without compromising too much on the number of seats. LCD screen with 1000 option AVOD. Upgraded dining + service, blankets, givenchy toiletries kit for economy too!
sleeevy 4 years ago
Don't know how long it would take to get to sit in one of these. Sounds like economy is alot better than the B747 which is a nightmare when the pax in front puts his seat back full! And the new LCD screens is an improvement on the existing on the B747s which are tiny when compared to the ones on Etihad airways. What do you mean by upgraded dining? And will they be giving out givenchy toiletries all the time or is it more likely to do with the promotion of the new aircraft?
jamesbondy07 4 years ago
When i say upgraded dining the food is not significantly better but they have nice touches that seem to come with the meals that weren't usually served. Also, the givenchy toiletries look nice for economy and are not just a promotion. This same economy is on SQ's new Boeing 777-300ER and people have received the basic toiletries kit.

Yes.. JAL is good. I took that airline last year when I went to Japan and Philippines.
petchay8099 4 years ago
Hmmm, JAL is nice but I really think that SIA is better.
sleeevy 4 years ago
why are you even talking about JAL in this video? 0_o
sfotpe 4 years ago
Hey sfotpe, I've seen this guy tokusil's other comments. He was taking trash about Koreans on a Korean Air vid and he goes around saying Japanese things and JAL are the best.
sleeevy 4 years ago
He can say JAL is better then Korean, if he say Jal is better then SQ then there will be some problems.
xxquiker 4 years ago
Agreed xxquiker. JAL doesn't match the service quality of SIA.

What's more is that yu really have a bed in the suite, An actual mattress, not something that folds from a seat.
