@oldtimeway1 they do if you know the story. In fact, the lyrics could have almost been written for LOTR, though i know it's an old christian hymn. The message behind it is the same though, that we can keep singing because we know that there's One behind the scenes in control of everything for our good.
This video has senselessly been restricted so that it cannot be viewed on smart phones or tablets! This is pointless: An iPhone has exactly the same playback as an iPod! End these foolish restrictions! Phone owners, send feedback to YouTube and give restricted videos a thumbs down!
@Delphicapollo Blame Apple. The iPhone does not have exactly the same playback as an iPod, or an iPad. They were the ones who decided not to put Flash capability in the iPhone.
i like the song, but the video does not correlate with the song because it is a Christian song openly praising God and the vid is of Elves from Lord of the Rings...
lol the pic at 2:10 is so funny! Is that what Elrond said to Aragorn and the pic being him and Arwen? I never read the books, but I can totally imagine it... haha

amazing one of my favorite songs(i have many favorites) with 1 of my favorite singers and my favorite movie series. please listen to Eva Cassidy's version of this song. you'll also LOVE her music - she's hauntingly lyrical.
Hear the music ringing - ive dedicated this to T.B who over stepped the mark in our relationship. its over. we reached the point of no return. but, no storm can shake my innermost calm not even yr pettyness!
This is a very gorgeous song and I absolutely adored the pictures with it; you did a very good job of not only putting good pictures to it but also matching the pictures with the words playing at the time; and I loved the poem at the end. Namarie =3
@robbyperez , I think that part of their charm is that they have a kind of timeless beauty about them, thry aren't perhaps beautiful in the modern sense but they have a noble demeanor which is appropriate for their character developement
@CodyNelsonMusic that line of thinking is philosophy...philosophy gave us the world we live...throwing mud at a philosopher just because you don't agree with him is really cheap..show some respect..
@Eluthien As long as we remember this: god is never dead and we dont kill him we only drive him away. i understand its principle however. however i can only half agree.
Believing to God or Allah or Budha is ones right. You cannot force it on someone or mock him for not believing. This is the main principle and it's called Human Rights.Simple as that.
I've got to thank that Waitrose advert for selectibg such an elegant, beautiful and loud song. Loud i mean it speaks volumes without really saying much at all.
I'm a male and this song is almost reducing me to tears it's so peaceful and gorgeous.
A beautiful version of this was recorded by Judy Collins on her CD, "Portrait of an American Girl". Unfortunately, when you try & find it on YouTube, it's been hijacked by some loud Christian music. It says it is Judy, but it isn't. Too bad.
wow ! this song is so awesome.. I literally had tears flowing listening to it.. this song, the voice, the music... they touched my soul... and that is becoming a rare thing in today's world.. having ones soul touched by a voice.. awesome!! when that happens.. embrace it! :)
Can anyone give me advice on whether this song is a good song to audition for an arts school in my country? They're looking for musicianship and technique...Thank you!! =)

Just off the top of my head: "Blackbird", "Rain", "The Long and Winding Road", "Elinor Rigby", "Paperback Writer"...
These are evocative songs, with intricate back stories, played out (with the exception of "...Winding Road) over a very few minutes.
They've been inspiring artists for nearly 50 years. I'm sure something (there's another one!) that will grab your attention.
Good luck!
