  • How can i get this effect from my electric? Im really into ambient sounds and that just blew me away, so deep and eerie!! Is it a FX pedle through a FX amp????

  • @glistninganalbeads thanks so much! to get started you will just need a delay (echo) pedal, and the volume knob on your guitar.

if you wanna loop phrases, you will need a looper, too. maybe you will try a single pedal looper from boss, if you never had a looper before.

a reverb is cool for ambient sounds, too.

If you don't wanna buy 3 or 4 pedals, save some more money and buy the Line 6 M9. its a multi effects pedal, that has all effects you will need, and it has a looper, too! recommended!

  • I just don't understand why some people dislike videos.. this was good.

  • @firebird1993 thanks! thats kind.

  • scrumtrulescent.

  • very nice

  • @bspbeats thanks!

  • yea liked ^5

  • excuse me dude, how in gods name did you make that sound when you slapped your hand on the strings?

  • @BrokenSporadic I used a Behringer RV600 reverb pedal for this. I dont own it anymore but I think the mode was "Cave" and the signal was 100% wet.

I DON'T recommend this pedal except you are into LowFi sound.

    Thanks!

  • @smnewthtrblnmnd LowFi?

  • @BrokenSporadic sorry, LoFi. It affects your dry guitar signal very much. So if you are into high quality guitar sound, you will not be happy with it. If you just wanna get startet, its the right choice for you. I also started with it, there you go.

  • Bro can you explain how to get that shimering howl like a violin? is that the reverb?

  • @christiancavestany Please tell which point of time in the video, so I can tell you which effect I am using for that sound.

  • you ever think of recording these, putting them up on soundcloud and sending demo's to film/advertisement/video game companies? if you do though remember to sign up for royalties :)

  • @ImOutsideTheBox Thanks so much for your kind words, but are you serious about that? There are so many really really good ambient artists here, I didn't ever think about that cause I think I would not be successful.

  • @smnewthtrblnmnd Well you wont know untill you tried dude, if they dont like it then just ask why and what could be done to make it better, theres not much you can lose from doing that no?

ah yes but I bet you none of them will go on to do anything with their skill, if you want to make a living out of your music, then theres nothing stopping you besides the record companies who will want to steal your money lol

  • Epic....

  • I'm listening to this at the same time as 'Kailasha' by Eliane Radigue and the two work really well together.

  • @bobgreen623 Congratulations on liking Eliane Radigue! You seem to have a very good taste of music sir :)

  • you makes me calm!great textures!check me out please!

  • This... is just really, really nice! You owe yourself some boutique effects dude!

  • @Instrumentofgaia thanks man!

yeah, in the meantime I am really into boutique stuff. I sold most of the cheap (sounding) gear. Now working with a Strymon El Cap and Blue Sky (planing to get the Brigdaier, too). and I am a proud owner of a Boomerang looper now. Great pedals!

  • @smnewthtrblnmnd Thats awesome! I myself am looking towards *significantly* upgrading my rig, at least in way of effects... so I thank you for pointing me towards those Strymons! I've never heard about them before... theres some really pure sounding stuff they have it seems!

  • The first chord is exactly the same thing you can hear in "Brothers in Arms" beginning. Are you doing the swells only by volume knob in your guitar or do you have sort of volume pedal (1:30 for example)? Amazing work, anyway, keep playing! :)

  • @Aalskii Thanks! Only volume knob here, bought the volume pedal for the swells just after the video. you can see me using it in my new video:)

  • This is really great - and somehow the radiator and window really work with it also.

  • Tranquilo, i like this ambient, good work. I did recently a mysic animation with relaxing ambient music. the animation is from a solar eclipse to a sunset above the sea. iwould apreciate if you watch on my channel.

    best wishes

  • Hammock.

  • It's so great!! What do you use Efectts?

  • @jonasgreg thanks a lot!

I copy and paste the answer, cause someone already asked about the effects some comments below:

Hardwire rv7 reverb, the crappy Behringer rv600,the chorus is a Boss. I dont remember the echo pedal I used. maybe the some of those cheap ones from Behringer or the good Boss DD20 gigadelay, which I sold some time ago. but I dont remember if I already got rid of it to that point of time. hope that helps.

  • very cool ... still the same delay ?

  • @smartti1970 no, in this one I used the BOSS DD20 and some old Ibanez-"soundtank" echo. I sold both, and I really don't regret it:)

  • @nxvznx thanks, that means a lot to me!

  • check out my new ambient video:

    /watch?v=z9xpefKkV9Q

  • which reverbs are u using?

  • @CorviNigris In this one I used the Digitech Hardwire RV-7 reverb in reverse mode, and the Behringer RV 600, which I actually sold. replaced it with the WET reverb.

  • BEAUTIFULL reminds me STALKER

  • way cool

  • why did that intro sound so farmiliar?

  • @Sieist23Jahrealt dont know, does it? just wanted to show the clean tone of the guitar, without any effects on.

  • @Sieist23Jahrealt

Personally I thought it kinda sounded like Caribou by The Pixies.

  • @happydan205 THANK YOU! that's it. i was trying to figure that out for a cool minute there.

  • @Sieist23Jahrealt

Haha, glad I could help :)

  • love it. pretty relaxing.

  • @eltra2009 thanks so much for that!

  • what pedals are they?

  • @MrBassMan213 Hardwire rv7 reverb, the crappy Behringer rv600,the chorus is a Boss. I dont remember the echo pedal I used. maybe the some of those cheap ones from Behringer or the good Boss DD20 gigadelay, which I sold some time ago. but I dont remember if I already got rid of it to that point of time. hope that helps.

  • @smnewthtrblnmnd How important is the looper to your sound? i only have the moolah for 3 pedals, and you say you use 6 effects. im guessing i need two reverbs and a delay. is this off? thanks

  • @SuperiFox as I loop in mono, the looper is less important for my sound. the Boss RC 2 will do a good job for the beginning. a good delay pedal is most important. reverb is useful, but not essential.

I startet using a looper and a delay pedal. I think there is no right or wrong. just start playing and you will get into it.

  • @smnewthtrblnmnd thank you! i really apreciate your response man! keep it up :)

  • Brian Eno!!!

  • @2011bmb wow! your comment really made my day, thanks a lot! Brian Eno is awesome.

  • @2011bmb Eno is God.

  • You Remind Me A Little Of Johnny Greenwood from Radiohead dude ur pretty amazing

  • Excellent!

If possible, could you drop me a line on how did you achieve the sustain? Very impressive, man! Hope to hear more of this.

  • @waltersmetak thanks so much!

mainly the long sustain comes from the "behringer rv 600" pedal in cave mode (thats also where that deep 'knocking'-sounds come from around 1:53 min . its kind of a cheap version of the LINE6 TONE CORE VERBZILLA. you can also achieve a longer sustain by using a delay at the end of your effects chain (last pedal before the looper). before the reverb I use the digitech hardwire in reverse mode. that also gets you a long sustain when you do volume swells.

  • @smnewthtrblnmnd Thanks for your kind and prompt reply to my doubt - brilliant work man! Keep it up!

  • @waltersmetak thanks! you are welcome :)

  • Really great sound, if you dont mind me asking what order are you running your effects in?

  • @FutureTelekraft

    thanks man!

in this video the order is like this:

    guitar> distortion - chorus - reverb - reverb - delay - loop >amp.

  • Great job!

Have you adjusted the delay time for different notes?

    And what's you chorus model?

  • @kelvin921019 thanks so much man!!

Im sorry but dont remember the delay time. But I know that I used the same setting all the time, so there was no adjustment for different notes.

My chorus pedal is the Boss CE-5 'chorus ensemble', its the first pedal on my board.

    greets!

  • pixies

  • Beautiful.

  • hoooohohooooly shit man. that was perfect in every single way!

  • @mikeyfatstrings thanks so much man!!!

  • @smnewthtrblnmnd thank YOU! for producing this work of art!

  • Very good work!

  • @allesredukt thanks so much for listening! glad you like it.

  • nice;)

how did you get the sounds around 1:28?

  • @tatoi @tatoi @tatoi thanks man! I am just slightly tapping these tones with a pick instead of creating them with volume swells. the main effect here is the digitech hardwire rv7 reverb in reverse mode that goes into an echo pedal. with the rv7 you can get 'fake' swell sounds while picking tones directly. hope that helps!

  • @smnewthtrblnmnd

    ok, now I need a rv7 lol

  • this is amazing! If its no trouble, what pedals/effects are you using? chhers
