  • From alabama or alabama?

  • @SammeThaMan Neither

  • 7 people can't use a gun.

  • all right guys guess this out its a math problem man+pistol+firing range equals ? yep u guessed it WHERE THE HECK IS THE FIRING RANGE!!!!! sike just playin keep up the fire LOL XD

  • Just a few words to tell you that an interesting downloadable ebook on this model (technical and historic aspects) is available at HLebooks.com.

  • pye254, I was going to reply, but went to your site. Now I know why you don't know where Vietnam is! Don't get yyour undies in a bundle "dude" just sit back and smoke something else/again. Sad strange little .. boy.

  • Although handguns are illegal in the UK, I've got a decommissioned tokarev in a drawer upstairs. I had the misfortune of trapping my finger in the... is it the chamber? I think it's the chamber, or wherever the bullet is ejected from. Good christ that was sore, I had to wear a plaster on it.

  • What would you compare the recoil too?

  • I love this gun, saw it and had to have it, shoots awesome, surplus ammo works great. never jams, easy to clean, I bought two more, in nicer shape. one for the case, and one to carry! Yugo. made this in a rifle, also (7.62x25) M56 wish I could find one!!

  • "LELLIER&BELLOT" makes non corrosive ammo for the 7.62x25mm.It runs any where from around $20.00 on line up to $30.00 in store price for 50 rounds.

I found the corrosive ammo shoots just fine(not quite powerful as the above ammo)but it's still good and alot cheaper at around $8.00 on line up to $15.00 in store price for 70 rounds. Just be sure to clean your weapon everytime after firing the corrosive ammo with a "PROPER CLEANING SOLVENT" that will nuetralise the salts in the barrel.

  • Russian guns are shit?

Who the fuck said that ?!

  • How are these guns do they jam up much? Also is the ammo for this gun tuff to find?

  • Powerful pistol.

It easily punches a standard NATO or Russian helmets.

    It punches light bullet-proof vests.

  • The best gun ever is tokarev

  • You can buy 1986, 7.62x25 Yugo surplus ammo $7.70, 70 per box at J&GSales.com. It shots a lot cleaner and better then other surplus ammo. It's definitely good quality..

  • @VGYugo lol.now its around 5.80!cheap and nice!

  • Thats a pretty hot loaded round, also used in PPSh type submachine gun weapons, the 7.62x25 is a very powerful hi velocity round, it can zip right thru some types of body armor also. The shooter at FT HOOD, Major Nidal Hasan, had a FN Five Seven pistol firing that exact round and it really did a number on those poor soldiers. Respect this round it is lethal. Nice gun there btw I might get me one someday.

  • i got tokarev tt 33, deagle 50, a spray n pray n a beretta 92. if u want dem gatz cum down 2 east lndn, e1.

  • @S4R4CENZ

What the fuck is a spray n pray?

  • @Cowbelltheoneandonly Thats where u point, shoot and pray u hit something also known as buck fever, when u see a big deer u get excited and blaze away without taking proper aim lol

  • how much do these things cost?

  • @ryancicocki J&G Sales has them for around $200 to $250 with accessories currently i believe. Might as well pickup a Mosin Nagant 1895 revolver too, but dont use .32 SW, you can now get the proper Nagant pistol ammo tho its pricey, the 1895 is a Gas Seal revolver, the cylinder moves forward when the triggers pulled, 20lb double action pull, tho u can maybe lighten it with a good gunsmith. History in your hand, Comrade!

  • I used your vids to help take mine apart. THANKS A TON. I wonder how one could replace that big hole that was the safety......

  • Accent lol sen sicks too buy tweny fav. lol

  • Hey bud, do you know why the first round brass was "way over there behind you."??

Becaus that little POC round is designed for a su-machine gun. Our guys who picked these up in Vietnam have been known to shoot asian elephants with this pistol! It may be strange but it is a mean little bugger. Just cause it doesn't say made in USA don't make it junk.

  • @3buffalo13 Oh no, I love the pistol, its my favorite pistol, I was saying the ammunition itself is crap because its old corrosive mess from a tin can (with some that are sized wrong and hang in the chamber) from who knows where instead of being boxer primed and non corrosive good stuff.

  • @bigguy6100

do you recommend others buy the russian tokarev?

is there better available ammo than the one you had there?

    it's 7.62 is it bigger than 9mm?

  • @79Testo Yes I recommend the Tokarev. There is better ammo available. S&B is good. 7.62 is a smaller number than 9, so its quite a bit smaller than 9mm. It is a bottle neck cartridge so it has some pretty strong ballistics

  • @bigguy6100 What about quality? Does it tend to jam a lot?

  • @3buffalo13 asian elephants really? man just say vietnamese dumbshit

  • man i bought some surplus for my Tokarev, out of 20 rds. 13 were duds, i was not a happy guy, also maybe because i got the pistol in 1968 on the day after New Years, found it on the ground, nice way to start your day

  • @717KEv Thanks for serving, and hope u didnt get rid of it, they make better ammo now, Przi Partizan of Serbia imports it, tho it might be a lil pricey, make sure you get the 7.62x25, not the 7.62 Nagant, Nagant uses bullet mounted flush with the case neck, the right round is bottlenecked round. Enjoy your Commie capture!

  • 7.62mm 8 rounds i also have shot it

  • it doesn't have a lot of stopping power, against soft flesh, its on the weaker side

I does however have a lot of penetrating power, so if your opponent has a vest, this is a pistol you would want, anything else that isn't in body armor, stick with a .45.

  • I am in love with this gun

  • How much are these guns?????awesome power man, like a .357 almost 500 foot pounds. amazing gun

  • I have used these pistols, they are really nice and powerful.. The round is a 7.62x25 which can really go thru anything. It was a standard sidearm for the Russian Army during WW2. It really is as durable and easy to maintain as an AK47. True WW2 legend

  • yes, it shoots THAT lol...and who told you about corrosive rounds ..do you know how to test the primers?

funny when someone calling that caliber odd,

TT33 was the AK47 (in pistols) of the last century....with mussel velocity of 450 meters per second the bullet would go through anything, even the fattest man on the planet..

  • not like in cod 5

  • can you still buy a tokarev TT33? in 2010

  • i just ordered mine. $200 for the gun and $120 for 1200rds of ammo. whats not to love!!!!

  • @Straight2hell01 where did you get the ammo at?

  • @DarthHammerHead88 ...Sport mans guide. its also worth it to get the membership. its like $30 a year and you get %5 off ammo and %10 off everything else. good shooting!

  • @Straight2hell01 what Sport mans guide?

  • i belive that ther is 7,62 ammo to by in usa, but if it is not so easy then the best and cheap ammo is from serbia. the factory name is PRVI PARTIZAN and i think that on-line bying is posible

  • Tokarev is generaly far more dangerouse for body armour then lot of AP and FMJ's...

  • --- Tokarev was proven in Bosnian war , Great gun , and these rounds are very fast , and dangerous for body armour ..

  • Comment removed

  • why couldnt you? you can get them for like $300

  • @icankickflip woow that is nice i thought because the round is so powerfull it is hard to get

  • 7.62x25 is like the cheapest ammo there is besides .22. Im not sure that it's very powerful though...

  • the dude firing the gun looks like hes faking the massive recoil"

  • @Chevenitsu That's because he's holding a Russian-made gun like an American. In the films, Americans always hold their guns as if they're ready to jump through the air. A Russian holds his gun in the position to kill.

  • @ThePlayfulmutt

"as if they're ready to jump through the air." What???

  • @Chevenitsu Do you realize how big the bullet is for that pistol? it is a shorter version of the bullet used in the AK47. Call of duty is not a standard to compare guns

  • how much would one of these cost at a gun show? I need to know

  • @annasajerk You can find one for around $200 without much difficulty. I got mine after a little searching a few weeks ago for $135.00

  • This baby sounds pretty powerful :P

  • хороший ствол

  • i have exactly the same pistol at home! TT33 made in 1956 Romanian , and is a crazy gun:D

  • goofy rounds for sure. Those Russkies make strange stuff.

  • @sniffsnarff those rounds were not created in Soviet Union, the first round was Mauser 7.63x25 for pistols. Then the Soviet Union changed the dimention of the cartidge to 7.62x25 because it was much easyer to produse that caliber. The fact is that both cartidges can be used in TT.

  • I'm curious if the 7.62x25 Tokarov is safe to use in a C96 Mauser since they're so close and 7.63x25 Mauser isn't as readily available.

  • No.

  • From what I've found out about the two different guns the 7.62X25 was developed from the 7.63X25. Although they are close in size the chamber pressures exerted by the 7.62X25 are higher than the 7.63X25 and could cause a catastrophic failure of the firing chamber/reciever in your Mauser. Something like 37000 psi versus 40000 psi although 3000 doesn't sound like much it must be more than the C96 can take.

  • umm isent it 1933? thats were the 33 on the name of the tokarev tt 33 comes from

  • 33 was the design year, but this pistol wasnt made then

  • @bigguy6100 the pistol was issued out in 1933, made before then

  • Don't know about you guys bbut that son of bitch was rockin:D

  • I think i came across this gun at a "Freedom Fighter" website. They go for pretty cheap as far as handguns go, although Im not sure if any retailers typically carry the ammo.

Can anyone comment on their stopping power and accuracy?

I know these are old guns and would need some maintenance, but thats half the fun for me.

  • cabelas carrys selleir and bellot 7.62 25 rounds. i also reload as well.

  • They are high velocity rounds and they go through IIA and II bullet proof vest. You can compare it to a 357 mag to an extent. They have great stopping power but not so much killing power, which was the intent of the design. Look them up, its pretty interesting stuff.

  • indeed.

  • Yeah but im a cheap bastard, i would rather spend time cleaning out my gun after shooting then spend that much money on ammo thats just for plinking. Besides it lets you get to know your gun inside and out and thats a good thing

  • It's crap? There's a reason why corrosive primers are used, even today in militaries. They're reliable. The Soviets designed their guns to deal for the eventuality of the Russian winter. You won't think it's crap when you need a gun and it's -35 outside.

Even if you used non-corrosive, You should clean your weapon after use anyway. So using corrosive or non-corrosive makes no difference ultimately. Only thing is usually corrosive primer ammo is alot cheaper and more reliable.

  • This is true, i would rather have to clean my gun after shooting then pay nearly twice the price for ammo, i think 7.62x25 is going for about 10 cents now a days, for $20 you can get about 50 non corosive rounds or you could get about 150 corrosive rounds

  • But the catch with that, is if you don't clean your gun well enough after shooting corrosive ammo you'll end up with rust spots.

  • Combating corrosive salts is not difficult at all. Ive been shooting corrosive ammo for years and never had a rust spot

  • I want one

  • wat the fuck

  • "Our recon plane will find them."

This gun has "deep impact" but not "stopping power" :p Very cool piece of Russian engineering.

  • Oh believe me buddy this gun has stopping power.

  • A friend and I did the calculations with different ammo at work for fun, it's not in the neighborhood of a .45. Sure it travels fast but its a damn 85 grain round, has just over half the force of a 45 which is pretty lame considering it was modeled after that and the broomhandle mauser.

  • Oh I see....well still I think you could kill a guy with it! haha

  • Well lame round will shoot threw a Ballistics helmet and your LV3 Vest were your 45 round will fail:|

  • actually it was modeled after the browning automatic... not the Broomhandle Mauser...

  • I hope you don't mean the gun itself was based on the C96, yes the ammo is based off of the C96 ammo, C96 shoots 7.63x25 tokarev shoot 7.62X25, just a mm difference, the round is a bottle neck made to penatrate, but it will stop you dead in your tracks its not like you can get hit by it and not even notice it

  • I've seen test videos where people have fired C96 Mauser ammo out of a Tokarev just fine. However, shooting .30 Tok out of a C96 Mauser is not a good idea. The reasoning is the Tokarev round usually will generate around 1300 fps, where the Mauser round only generates 900 fps or so. That massive increase in pressure with the Tokarev round is why you can shoot Mauser in the Tok, but not vice versa.

  • There's actually no difference in the round, it was only called 7.63 to avoid confusion with other popular 7.62 rounds at the time.

The only real difference in the two rounds is 7.62x25 is generally much hotter than 7.63, and thought the two rounds are interchangeable, it's not considered safe to fire 7.62 out of a C96.

  • I hear that alot so does that mean you could use C96 rounds in a tokarev? I have also heard that theres some bad 7.62x25 ou there that should not be used in CZ-52s cause its hot but could it hurt a tokarev?

  • From what ive read and looked at, the CZ-52 is designed to handle the hot rounds, but they could damage the Tokarev

  • The CZ-52 is literally a pistol version of the MG42, the roller block action is based off of the German universal machine gun. So I highly doubt you'll find any 7.62x25 rounds that are too hot for it, it's designed to fire hot rounds.

However the hot rounds could hurt the Tokarev, I'm not sure which rounds they are exactly, but I'd stick to what you know is light.

Also, yes you can fire 7.63 Mauser out of any gun chambered in 7.62x25, but I wouldn't advise you try it vise versa.

  • i have fired TT yugoslav version.

  • woah man a rifle sounds quite like that

  • whaaaaaaaaat

those shots sound like rifle shots holy shitt

  • Don't you have a russian one or it's to expensive?

  • damn with than shot you can wake up the neighbournes

  • What makes the 7.62x25mm Tokarev so loud? I mean god damn their louder than a .45 and almost as loud as a rifle well not quite that loud but still.

  • Because it's as powerful as a rifle cartridge. Sorry, i can only give prooflinks in russian

  • How would a 85 grain .30 cal round going 1300fps be more powerful than a 124 grain .30 cal round going 2300fps? I think you may be mistaken. Also the Russians say allot of things. Like that their 5.45 round has a steal knocker that make the round over turn. Propaganda still plays a large role over there. I will say they make great weapons! Just take what they say with a grain of salt.

  • The 7.62x25 round has more penetrating power then a .45, 9mm, or a 40 S&W because its a bottle neck cartridge, the projectile is smaller then that of a 9mm and with the speed of a 357 mag it has been known to even go through body armour. All of this info is from Wikipedia

  • Wikipedia is not infallible. An yes, your right. It does penetrate better than most handgun rounds. But Expansion and fragmentation are more important than penetration. Also it will not go through hard plate. Some older soft BA yes.

  • Hyper sonic ammo. The sonic boom of the bullet breaking the sound barrier. Similar to the way a .357 magnum is so loud, or some of the carbine rifles. My 45 is louder than that when I use CorBon +p loads that push over 1200 fps. Comes close to the volume of my Colt Pyton shooting a hot load.

  • The same reason a .357 and .44 magnum is loud.

  • amazing.

  • Man, did they dowse that ammo in flour or something? I've never seen so much smoke from a 20th century round

  • Well, I was using surplus ammunition, they used cheap, corrosive powder

  • yea i heard they get excess smoke and fire

  • Nasty, aren't they? Violent to fire because the cartridge is almost as grunty as a .45 but the gun lacks the weight and mass to soak up the recoil.

  • They;re loud! I've 2 Russian made TT-33s in 7.62x25 with the holsters, one made 1941 the other 1953. Both Vietnam combat captures off NVA officers. No finish left on '41 some on '53. Bores very good+. Grips w/ Star & CCCP. The 72rd per box military ammo is hot-loaded (for 72rd drum PPsh-SMG) inexpensive but corrosive. My personal favorite ammo is the 85gr. Wolf hollow points. I've seen demos of level (2) & even level (3a) body armor failures to stop the high-speed 1560-1650fps 7.62x25mm ammo.

  • please tell me where/how one can get/buy a TT-33

  • Occasionally I see them at gun shops and gun shows. You can talk to one of your local gun shops and ask them to order one.

  • got mine with my C&R FFL (Curios & Relics Federal Firearms Licence) from AIM Surplus for $200+

  • sounds so awesome!

  • I've got one too but it is kinda broken.Well but I found it in a large pile of straws and so...

  • damn that pistol sounds like a rifle

  • They are the new rage is Bear pistol here in Alaska..The high volocity and good penetration makes it ideal. Factor in the light weight and its semi auto and there ya have it....I got two..

  • holy shit thats a loud pistol

  • serbian(yugo)cz-m 57(7,62tt),holds 9 rounds(instead of 8)has a longer grip(looks better)and definitely can penetrate many kevlars,just check the size of the bullet,but has a problem with stopping power(hollow point-problem solved!) i have sig 9mm but i love my TT!

  • Bro, I bet you love her like crazy. Well, me too, here I got a lady Tula Tokarev-33, a romanian one just like yours, after some shootings out at a dim range area I'd truly say she's an absolute reliable pistol which can't be overlooked even though she speaks too loud but still I love her lots.

  • are you expecting?

  • If it is not made in Tula, it is not a Tula Tokarev. TT is an urban abreviation that is used improperly when refering to the TT33 pistol.

I prefer all my Russian firearms to be made in Russia or USSR. Chinese just fail.

  • TT-33 Fires PPSh rounds, its fuckin awesome

  • Not 'crack', not 'bang'...but, 'BOOM!'

  • so many murderes and drug dealers killed with this fucker in albania..such a small and powerfull gun

  • After your comment on my previous one, I checked through books and must say you are right. I got a shooting tutorial where are some comparison lines about TT and 1911. But i put an emphasis on that i did point on exterior forms of 1903 browning and TT 1933Pistol. As for inner mechanic constraction of TT and 1911 there is no doubt about and you are right so thank you for your opnion it is nice.

  • This soviet aemi-auto is prohibited for RF citizens. However, Mr.Tokarev made this gun, copying one old 1903 browning model. You can compare 2 these guns, if you don't believe in it. By the way, in 90-s TT was a killer gun, especially Chinese and Polish models.

  • It's more 1911 in functioning than 1903. 1903 was a blowback pistol, barrel does not tilt. A1911 however, the barrel does lock in the slide for a fraction of a second and tilts to unlock and eject to handle the higher pressure .45 ACP rounds as opposed the the lower pressure .32 ACP and .380 ACP rounds. Take a Tokarev apart and 1911 apart, put them side by side and you'll see a lot of similarites than you would if you took a Tokarev apart and a 1903 apart side by side.

  • I have a 1941 Russian TT-33. Who knows how many bodies are on that one...

Shooting wise, 7.62x25 feels a lot like a .357 mag chambered in an auto. I have a Walther P.38 and Colt 1911 too, but the TT sounds a lot scarier when it fires. I've heard that the 7.62x25 has a tendancy to pass through kevlar vests too, but I can't verify that one. In a PPSh it probably would, dunno about a handgun.

  • Yep. Level II easily :-)

Check this one out: watch?v=IfoDH7s-Hnc at 6:40 shoots through a Toyota 4runner's break disk. whereas a 9mm para just leaves a scratch

  • like shooting a .22 on steriods, eh? :D

  • Ammunition wise, its inexpensive, for the size. But shooting it feels alot more like a .45

  • So I've heard...nice weapon, they have listing for one like that from the Romanian Cugir factory. $300, nice 99% blueing, good bore, 2 mags, a holster, etc. Sound good for a Tokarev?

  • A little bit high, you could shop around and find one cheaper im sure. I bought mine at the gun show, it was $245 for the same deal, pistol 2 mags holster lanyard and cleaning rod. Ive seen them online at different places for about the same price.

  • Tokaev... a nice pistol that served the russian front in WWII and HEY wait a sec! Did you say made in romania! Man if you want a real TT-33 get a vet ruskie TT! Those nigas (no offense for black people) in romania cant do a shit!

  • The Romanians got this one right. Good bluing, good milling and machining, and smooth and correct operation. The only thing I'd like to change about this gun are the grips. Im not too impressed with the cheap looking bakelite grips.

  • I hear you. That's why on mine Tokarev I've replaced the grips with the ones from Chinese "Improved Tokarev" and put Hogue rubber grip sleeve on top. Since then the shooting experience was just awesome.
