  • Damn, people are stupid. You're asking to get hit if you try running a red light.

  • its the latest trend in jersey

  • Around here people get in more accidents with the traffic lights on than when they are off. Overconfidence makes you trust too much and not take care sometimes. It even helps traffic flow better :D

  • 1:15 - was that a cop car? :P

  • Year 2011, still have crap security cameras...

  • I bet that every person that ran the red light and hit another vehicle got out of their vehicle and looked at the other driver like it was their fault. Silly drivers.

  • damn jersey drivers drive like shit

  • 0:53 is simply dangerous junction, cos can't see what's coming behind the truck/bus/whatever-thing!

  • yes

  • I thought the red light cameras these videos were taken with magically stop these events from happening?

  • 1:14 looked like a crown vic

  • @caijia1314 and out of a right turn lane!

  • typical driving day on clopper road and great seneca in germantown maryland. They even love to make left turns on red. I hope the worst for them.

  • was that flash at 1:13 a traffic camera getting his license plate? or just a random flash...?

  • @UnkleWillard yeh its camera. its actually in the other clips too

  • @UnkleWillard It is a traffic camera

  • Comment removed

  • HAH, that last one was a unmarked cop car.

You can see the low profile lights in the back window.

  • there's a difference b/t running a red light and being caught in "no man's land" b/t a yellow and red. I have never "Run" a red light, however, most times driving I am caught b/t a yellow and a red. Many times the decision to stop short on a red would have much worse effect's then going through a yellow/red. If I ever got hit going through a yellow/red situation the person that hit me should get a ticket b/c of jumping a green. No one's reaction time can be that good.

  • Hmm, most of these are complete idiots...it's people that seem like they wanted to go through the light, not even stop.

  • Seeing so many accidents, one may want to ask himself - whether so many drivers are so dumb to drive on a red light, or there is any other reason?

  • Crazy People

    Y U RUN RED LIGHT?

  • This is good evidence showing red light cameras don't work. I saw many flashes yet people still run red lights

  • 1:00 the driver didn't run the red light. Clearly yellow even as the BACK bumper went through the intersection.

  • @TheDoorMatt9 The yellow doesn't mean hurry up. The law states he was supposed to stop unless unsafe to do so. Instead, he went for it and hit the turning traffic. He deserves a ticket.

  • @hagenar...according to some states (most states?) all a yellow light is defined as is as a indicator that a red light is coming up...it is perfectly legal to enter a intersection on a yellow light. That being said, SPEEDING is always illegal. But the incident at 1:00 was not a speeding situation. As for the guy turning, he should have waited until after the red and proceeded when safe...all vehicles sitting in a intersection when a light *is red* have right of way.

  • Anyone know what typeface they used on the video? :D

  • 0:59 I got hit like that by a dude chasing to catch the red light whilst I had the green to turn, the funny thing was, all the traffic stopped but he changed lanes to avoid the traffic that stopped and sped up maliciously. Unfortunately he hit me so hard my car flipped on it's side. I was in hospital for a while and the guy lost his license for a long ass time and got jail time because he was under the influence of alcohol. I would have been dead if i took out my motorbike that day.

  • Oh, I thought red meant go srry.

  • Red means go.

  • the moral of the story is people in new jersey cant drive

  • 0:51 they're both drunk!!

  • I dont think these people were maliciously running red lights. It seems like most weren't aware, which is no excuse, but to make it seem like to imply these people purposely ran red lights, is a bit misleading.

  • Had someone miss my car when they were running a red by a couple feet the other day. Some scary stuff.

  • "Please stop on red".

Like somehow you think people are deliberately ignoring red lights.

No. people are just not paying attention. The slogan should be:

    "Please pay attention."

  • Google was right: It's a glitch in the matrix that we learned how to develop cars before we learned how to develop computers to drive for us and avoid these kinds of accidents.

  • Americans. - People who are too stupid to notice that a light is red instead of green.

  • Most of these people (including the one that happens on a yellow light that was sneaked in here) are just ignorant of what's going on around them, more than anything else. Oblivious doesn't get stopped just because there's a camera at the intersection.

  • snookie was behind the wheel for all of these

  • You can go to other websites and see much more graphic crashes.

Be careful when you're handling that much power.

  • these red light cameras are awesome.. we need more

  • i dont understand this "Please Stop" statement.

do you guys think these people purposefully dont stop? i'd say 9 times out of 10 the case is that theyre distracted. "Keep your eyes on the road" is more appropriate I feel.

  • arrr where are cops when u need them!!!

  • videos like these make me feel like i'm the only incompetent driver on the road sometimes...

  • This is why passing a depth perception test should be mandatory for getting a drivers license. While the people running reds are definitely at fault, there were at least 30% of those accidents in the videos that could have been prevented if the "innocent" party was paying attention at the car going 50 mph at them and waiting to see if they will stop or not. They need to become active drivers instead of passive ones.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter who is at fault when death occurs.

  • it's hard to see a freaking red light...

  • Please don't be an idiot, red lights are just one problem with idiots.

Please don't encourage idiots. You might be the biggest problem.

  • PAY MORE FREAKING ATTENTION

I once watched a guy pull out directly in front of a speeding ambulance, lights flashing. Ambulance plowed into the side of his car and came to rest in the middle of the intersection. The light his way had just turned green, but LOOK WHERE THE HECK YOU'RE GOING.

  • I like it when people who who run the red light stop in the middle of the intersection. Like seriously, if you run it go THROUGH it don't stop in the middle.

  • I thought that's in China

  • 1st clip... pedestrian wasn't even looking..

  • Idiots!

  • At 1:07 what a dumy, not only did the mini van run the light but the other car was supposed to take the curb lane not pull into the left hand lane.

both need to go back to drivers ed.

  • plz , stop on red

  • The one at 0.52 happens all the time even when the light is green. Thats just a dangerous intersection to make a left turn at, because the cement median forces cars so far over, that when your trying to make a left turn, if a car on the otherside is also trying to make a left, their car blocks your view.

  • You REALLY have to ask yourself what is wrong with some people when you have to remind them to stop on red...

  • Them Americans.

  • Achievement unlocked...... " Coming Through!"

  • These videos are from all the ghetto areas in Jersey.. figures

  • I never understood how people can cross a damn red light? Is it that hard to stop....

  • 8 ppl run the red light, get away with it, and don't regret YET...

  • Maybe they're all color blind...?

  • 0:20 that gray car was like NOPE

  • You cant fix stupid.

  • wtf, why are they driving when it's clearly red???

  • Stupid drivers what an insult tot he human race

  • In New Jersey, there are so few legal left turns that no one is in the habit of stopping!!

  • Do any of these drivers actually have EYES??? Blows my mind....

  • 2nd to last - pretty graceful near miss! All those t-bones looked rather painful tho...

  • That one guy is an idiot!

  • Eh this shit happens everywhere...not just in NJ

  • 8 people are dumb and like to endanger peoples' lives on the road :P

  • wheres that flash from

  • Where are the stats for increase in read end crashes after the camera system is in place?

  • The crash at 1:00 is a particularly common and deadly one. The white SUV is trying to beat the light while the vehicle turning left is beginning to complete his left turn before the light turns red. Usually the one trying to beat the light has already sped up significantly when he sees the yellow. (I call them LEAD FOOT YELLOWS)

  • What are they thinking?, I guess all of them say "F*ck thi sh*t" and then boooommm

  • How these idiots pass the driving test is beyond me. In fact, how they manage to breath is beyond me...Der! My brain hurts.

  • 0:25 is the stupidest one of all, not only one but 2 people went through the red light, and on top of that, the person turning should've been paying more attention. You need to be aware of your surroundings wether you have a green light or not, did they not notice the TWO cars that had driven through the red light?

  • @ALynnJ13 The car turning left had a green arrow. The red light was for those going straight, as the other car had tried to.

  • Idiots.

  • They are all in Linden lmfaooo

  • wait... i take it back. dude at 1:00

  • these people aren't even pushing yellow lights, they're just straight-up not paying attention. jesus.

  • Lesson learned: always assume someone is going to run the red light, and don't go through until you've verified that anyone in a position to hit you has started slowing down.

It doesn't matter that you have the right of way, you still have a responsibility to be on the lookout for red light runners. In the immortal words of my mom, "It doesn't matter who was right or wrong when you're dead".

  • @leftymcrighty This. So many drivers in this video can and probably did get written up for failing to avoid the accident; they either weren't paying attention to the runner or they saw the runner and decided to go anyway.

  • @leftymcrighty ....Unless someone flies up through a turn lane / shoulder to avoid the people stopped at the red light like in that last segment.

  • While we encourage conversation, we reserve the right to block any vulgar, profane, harassing or inflammatory language from this page. Please keep it PG. Thank you.

  • Human stupidity. Never seize to amaze.

  • @richardhalo I know what you mean... Because you mean 'cease'.... -.-

  • @richardhalo I am hoping this was meant to be an ironic statement.

    seize: grab; apprehend; hold

    cease: stop; discontinue

  • @richardhalo Kind of like how you just used seize instead of cease? Yeah, pretty stupid indeed.

  • @richardhalo ceases* Wow, a lesson in both spelling AND irony! (Unless it was on purpose)

  • are they seriously that stupid? i can't believe they're giving licenses to these people.

  • The last one appears to be a police cruiser.

  • @MagicMeets Civilian Mercury Grand Marquee.

  • I didn't know you allowed to make left turns in New Jersey. Anytime I've been in New Jersey, they were illegal

  • My brilliant theory is if you yanks learned to drive a stick you wouldn't be so passive in the drivers seat and pay more attention....

  • @Forssa1 Speaking as a yank, we can always find a way to be stupid. It's what we do.

  • To much fist pumping... not enough paying attention to the road and posted stop lights.

  • It appears that most of these people didn't "run" the red, as in "it just turned red' and they ran it. It looks like most of these people never knew the light was red, probably because they're texting or talking on the phone or whatever. Makes me wanna stay home.

  • That intersection in Deptford is nasty. Its hard to see when turning onto 42 if other cars are coming. Its definitely not a safe intersection at all.

  • Like we needed another reason to stay the hell out of New Jersey.

  • @spectrumfox This happens in every single place where cars drive

  • Red lights are there for a reason. Stupid NJ drivers don't realize this.

  • all of these are accidents from distracted driving

  • When I first played GTA IV, being unfamiliar with the series, I drove around stopping at traffic lights for about five minutes.

  • First Jersey Shore... Now this? Things just aren't going well for these New Jersians. Smdh

  • I live in NJ and I drive safely. I am the 1%

  • Hah.. and they say that youth are bad drivers. I have seen more middle aged and older people who get too cocky and think they can "take shortcuts" and "bend rules"

I say just pull their license and make them take their drivers test all over again. If you can't even drive close to correctly then you shouldn't be driving at all.

  • I was just in a pretty bad accident where someone ran a red light and slammed right into me... this video was like exposure therapy.

  • Does the company provide this as evidence if one of their cameras picks an accident up and someone requests the footage?

  • NJ traffic law favors aggressive drivers who know how to lie. All the lawyers and judges care about is making the money. If you even move 1 inch toward the middle of the intersection when waiting to make a left turn, it is your fault even if you're still on your side of the road. The aggressive driver gets the benefit of the doubt, even though they might be travelling at ten times your speed.

  • In Oregon yellow light also means stop - according to police.

  • Oh so red means stop? I thought it was just proceed with caution. Hmm

  • this video is nothing, you need to search "driving in dominican republic"! to see a real mess up!

  • esto es serio

  • This explains why jersey drivers are the worst

  • Red-light runners should lose their license for 10 years + get a $50,000 fine. It doesn't matter if it's careless driving or intentional stupidity, we don't need drivers like this on any road!

  • It's not a matter of people choosing to run a red light, more than a matter of people not paying attention.

  • @khertler Very true. I was just looking around one day and I ran a red light. Mainly its distractions not people trying to run red lights.

  • @RickPickerBen When you're behind the wheel, the only "looking around" you should be doing is that which has to do with the task of driving safely. I'm glad no one got hurt, but that was very irresponsible of you. "Mainly its distractions"? You're not a child with ADD. In the future, please pay more attention to the road.

Sorry if you feel I'm being harsh on you, but people's loved ones can get killed because of drivers not paying attention.

  • @khertler No, it's a matter of running a red light. If the person didn't run the red light there wouldn't have been a need to pay extra attention.

  • @mikesderic I think he meant not paying attention to the lights

  • @mikesderic way to completely miss what he was saying. @khertler was saying those running the red lights are doing it because they are not paying attention, they assume the light is green and are not stopping.

He wasn't saying those with the right of way should pay more attention to avoid red light runners, but saying those driving should pay attention to not run red lights.

  • The second crash from Linden shouldn't even be there. Neither drivers ran a red light. Only the driver turning left failed to yield oncoming traffic.

  • 1:12 had to be running from the cops. he was in the turning lane AND he went straight while running the light.

  • @supertrippfan A yellow light means to PROCEED with caution. In the Linden one I'd have to say it was the guy trying to make a left's fault. It didn't look to me like he was trying to race to beat the red light like so many people often do with yellow lights.

  • False - a FLASHING yellow means to proceed with caution. A yellow in a 3-color stoplight means to start slowing down because the light is about to turn red. So the person racing to beat the light is absolutely at fault.

  • @Onenonlylovemussell No, yellow lights do not mean proceed with caution. Yellow lights mean come to a stop if it is safe to do so.

  • Get off the f*cking cell phones people!! Quit talking, texting, Facebooking, and Tweeting. Use a hands free or wait till later.... It's not THAT important, and if it is, PULL OVER!!

  • I like the car running the red light from the right hand turn lane. Idiot. I wonder if the person was scratching their head, "gee, I wonder why traffic is stopped?"

  • Needs Benny Hill music.

  • @amosquito ITS HARD TO TEXT AND DRIVE, ISN'T IT? YOU F'N IDIOT, DOPE, MORONS.

  • thats because nj drivers cant drive

  • @classikz There are Red-Light running videos from every state in the union. Please, like NYC drivers don't suck ass too ? 45 in the left lane, no blinkers, cut off someone at the drop of a hat then give you the finger like it isn't their fault. Every state has Douchbags. This just happens to be our NJ DBags...

  • @classikz so youre going to judge New Jersey drivers just on these videos? nice. i feel real happy knowing that someone who rides bikes around NYC, a place of horrible traffic & more car troubles, thinks that the state next to them sucks at driving. i go to New York all the time, & ive seen FAR worse drivers than what we see on this video.

  • Over the last couple of years, I have noticed an increase in the number of times I've seen people run red lights, so this doesn't surprise me. The other thing that ticks me off is not using turn signals. I can't say how many close calls I've had because someone was so self-absorbed that they didn't feel they owed me or anyone else in the world the simple courtesy of flicking the turn signal on before pulling in front of me.

  • This is crazy! I never realized it was that bad...the Linden NJ, Jan 4 2011 crash (`the 1minute in); It looks like the white SUV is racing against the yellow? So aggressive...no excuse. Just as bad as running a red.

  • Linden was the corner of St. George Ave & Stiles Street. Notorious for being dangerous. I might drive out of my way slightly to avoid this area but it isn't because of the camera. The intersection is downright dangerous at the best of times.

  • Wow those lights are blatantly red. Not even someone trying to beat a yellow. Drunk drivers maybe
