  • if i wake up low at night i get reallllllly confused one time i walked into to my parents room and i was going ummm and snaping my fingers and then one time i told my mom " MOM you dont need to buy it!!" idk what i was talking about but i was like 30

  • i cry 2 for no reason

  • i cry 2

  • You're funny!

  • so for my lows i get to the point where i will feel like the walls are closing in... i will be sitting in English class and run out of the room crying because I feel like i cant breathe. Yeah that's always fun. Other than that i have the normal symptoms i also get really spazzy panic attacks and scream at people for no reason when im like SUPER low. fun isnt it??

  • I love your presentation! I learned about a couple other symptoms, and when I have shared them and get feedback on it, it seems to soothe the folks that did not link this together...they are 1) amnesia (ex: no you never told me such and such, yes I did) and 2) time distortion (ex: I'll be there in 15 minutes but you really show up an hour late)...also, I have noticed that some folks use rage and anger to get energy...I would like more feedback on that...I tend to just do what you do...cry etc

  • Don't eat sticky buns to cure a low blood sugar!! Stop eating sugar completely and eat protein like almonds or cheese and you low blood sugar will be cured! This is the most misunderstood ailment in the medical world. You can not rely on a normal Dr. to help you. It must be a nurtrionalist!

  • @dreamsava right on, there is no use asking a doc, because they are taught about it only as a precursor to diabetes, not as a thing in an of itself...

  • My completely random symptom is i start haveing random movements. I can control them well add that to I cry and I can't talk and my stupid school nurse always try to ask me all sorts of questions and i cant get the words out.

  • Hmmm, quite a lot i lose my balance and my words start to slur and i get tired but other times its the complete opposite. Also my thoughts become listless and i myself cannot string a sentence together.

When all is well though, nothing can stop me! words flow, thoughts clear, balance is not impaired...etc.

Is there any way to fix this problem, or is the method to eat consistently throughout the day?

  • Thanks for your vlogs and blogs. I have had many very strange hypos. Once I lost all feeling in my legs and people thought I was drunk because I couldn't stand up, then I started crying uncontrolably. In my teens people often thought I was drunk-I went a little crazy. Now, I don't go too crazy-just a little hyper, but the worst thing for me is the hypo hangover-it can wipe me out for a day after a bad hypo-I really hate those things :(

  • Thanks so much & I love your cat. I have one, an Egyptian Mau, I took her in, well, she found me all emaciated. Her, not me. :) She is thriving. I have med induced(atypical psychotropic)type 2. My latest manic episode, I lost 120lbs. No insulin, no oral med. Fingerstick, occassionally, but with the low blood sugar, the withdrawal from meds that my mental health authority, can't seem to get for me when I am out & I smoke(I know, it does prevent murders)that withdrawal, all 3 at once. Like, OMG!

  • I always will start complaining about how hot it is, sometimes I will stop whatever I am doing to sit in the shower under a stream of ice cold water! I always sweat, and I talk like a mad man:(a crabby and crazy mad man!)

Great entry, ill have to check for mouth numbness next time I get low!

  • i don't have diabetes, but i think i have had hypoglycemia for a few months. it usually happens when i had an early dinner and then didn't eat breakfast the next day or something like that. i get really hungry, but i have NO appetite when it happens, which makes it hard to know what to do. my hands get cold, i get disoriented (in summer when i had one i asked my mom if school had started already), i get mad, and my arms and the bottoms of my feet feel kind of tingly. =/ it's not pleasant. =(

  • I usually get shaky, disoriented, occasionally irritable and uncooperative, and also feel like I'm in a different, isolated world and I'm just physically going through actions. When I'm really low, it's nearly impossible for me to read, and if I'm really low and walking, my legs will start failing and I won't be able to stop falling down (not good when you don't have any glucose tabs or fast acting on you...) Lows are the worst when you have to work and get things done but can barely function.

  • When I get low, I get shaky, sweaty lol, angry, hungry, worried and stressed.

  • @SNESguy thats exactly what i get like :) i havent been diagnosed with diabetes yet i went for a random glucose check today and it was 9.9 so i have to not eat tomorrow and go for another one (i think its called a 'fasting' test?) :) sometimes i am sick too but thats not when my body feels 'low' if you know what i mean? i think that may be when i have high sugar (usually after ive eaten)

  • Love the flashcards! I get a buzz in my head and I get sweaty. Since I am a woman of a certain age, people think I'm having a hot flash! And since I can't put words together I can't tell them! And I feel so anxious, I think I'm having a panic attack! I hate hypos!! Diabetes majorly SUCKS!! I want to start a Diabetes Anger Management group, (D.A.M.) will you join me? :)

  • My blood sugar can be 25 and still function like a normal human being. How is this possible?

  • @vicarious7777 Because you are about to hit the floor!! Hope you are doing ok!

  • Try eating Tai CHi Green Tea at breakfast or lunch or with food.

  • Abby is cute.

I sometimes get a damn head ache after a low, it like really bad.

    Nice VLOG

  • i ws at school and i couldent even hold my pencil, then i was like gone i wasnt paying attention and techer asked me some gay question...then she called my mom because i couldent answer her.

  • I get really angry and start yelling at the people who are around me, I feel really dizzy and can not walk straight and have been told that I look like I am drunk, I don't think straight and can not make a sentence but my close friends can recognize the symptoms and know what to do, since I have told them how to treat my low. I love my friends but sometimes they don't recgonize the symptoms, I'm really good at hiding the fact I'm low until someone asks me a question and then it's apparent.

  • I feel sick to my stomach and soon I feel dizzy and then I lose sight, then I black out within 15 mins of losing sight.

  • I've gotten intune with my low blood sugars. It's absolutely crazy. How low can your blood sugar go before you passout?

  • Comment removed

  • I get kinda angry and start blaming people for things that annoy me. THe worst thing is when people ask how you are when you are low.

  • very good in explaining. I have the same symptoms excluding crying. I get dizzy, i stutter, and my knees want to give out. when i finally eat im fine. i also have the same type of cat!!!!! thanks for vid

  • me too!all the same things, sept i get shaky!

  • at a football game my sugar dropped. the police said have u been drinking? no , i dont drink, just give me a brownie or something!!!! the start of your video about staggering reminded me of that.

  • Thanks for this informative video! My fiance is diabetic, and I try to be there for her as much as I can when I'm there. I had no idea that crying could be a symptom of a low blood sugar. Sometimes I've thought I said things that upset her of the morning (which I still may have upset her), but I didn't realize that it could be related to low blood sugar. And I've read up on the subject, but I haven't seen that mentioned anywhere before. Many thanks!

  • I've gone low in the night and had really weird dreams. It's almost like I'm getting some great insight into the meaning of life or something. It sounds ok but it's not a pleasant experience at all. Hypos suck. I'm 47 and only been type 1 for 7 years. I hate diabetes.

  • I have really weird dreams too...I know what you mean...

    I'm 20 and I've been type 1 for 11 years.

I think I have most of the same symptoms as Kerri, but I also feel depressed and hopeless when I'm low. I also cannot focus at all. I get panicky and I don't react to situations in a logical way, meaning that I don't perceive situations correctly. I have gotten the numb mouth symptom sometimes, too.

  • You have my sympathy. As I said, I was only diagnosed when I was 39, so I came into this business late so to speak. I started getting really thin, and wondered what the **** was happening to me. I get the tingly mouth/lips AND the loss of confidence disoriention thing when I'm very low.

  • What you said and what's in the video. It really is horrible. I get weak at the knees, dizzy and just can't think straight.

Just like as you said, I perceive things wrongly, it's like I pick up on a bad "atmosphere", when there isn't one. I snap at people for no reason and don't want to talk to anyone. I'm 38 and wish doctors were taught about this.

  • ummm...before I knew what was happening to me I used to get really angry, like I would yell at my friends over something stupid (regret that very much now) and umm...this one time I thought I was dreaming and pain was dulled. I can never concentrate properly and I'm normally completely useless to anyone around me

  • (I get ANGRY, major headaches) it goes away soon after i eat, but until then it's hell..

  • Dizzines, shaky legs, and when im dropping in Bs, like fast, i start trying to be funny, dont know why, i just start laughting at my own jokes, and dont have a point in any of them.

  • I get hergng

  • I love your cat! I know my friend with diabetes gets light headed and dizzy, but other than that I didn't know what it was like to have really low blood sugar.

  • The shakes or my limbs just go limp. So that makes walking and reaching for stuff difficult. Confusion, rambling, loss of words...in my head "honey I'm low, can you help me" in reality, staring at husband with a confused look on my face. Loss of sensitivity to lows. I can be 32 and walking around, talking like nothing. Because of this I often forget to treat my lows. I go to the kitchen and start doing dishes. Then have to remind myself EAT SOMETHING! Before u die. Lows suck big time!

  • My husband has low blood sugar and when one of his spells hits him he drinks a can of V-8 juice. He states that this works faster than anything for him. Maybe you can give it a try. He also said eat high carb foods.

  • great overall video!type 1 for 34 years.i get annoyed by everything.not all the time sometimes i get quiet,my equilibrium goes,i think it changes as you age.sometimes i think people are trying to go against me.i could go on for a long time.what a disease eh!

  • Flashcards = Awesome. ROFL.

  • I hate it when I know that I should get up and check or just eat something but to actually do it is a challenge sometimes...crazy I know, this should be a no brainer! Must be part of the not being able to string a sentence out loud let alone in my head. Symptoms: everything you said plus the numb lips and cheeks and everything gets REALLY loud, (even the cat snoring).

  • Love the flashcards, lol! :P

I hate low blood sugars as well!!

    Nice video!
