The Guys at the skatepark say the board rides like a surfboard.. It's heavy and can't grind with it; deck is rigid - not flexible. So it picks up speed quick.
Now I ride much better.... That video was shows after I switched from a regular skateboard that did not turn.. I learned to skate in about a month. From not knowing anything (unbalanced) to carving down the road (balanced).
So Im 5'6 tall, how would it look if I was holding the board with one hand. Would it be able to walk around with, or I would have to change the way I'm holding it
@sclongboard66 local board shops haven't done anything for me.. except charge me an outrageous price. Local skate shop wanted $150 before tax for this little cruiser. So I went with $104.95 instead. It's a logical choice. We don't have zumiez here...
Maybe someone here can help me, because I'm not getting anwers anywhere else. What's the difference between cruisers and longboards?? Are they the same thing but different sizes? Or are they good for different things? Please help me
@Alm0nd396 "there is a BIG difference... longboards are long. hence the name and cruizers have bigger tails on them and are just used to cruising around and ollieing up curbs and longboards are used for bombing hills and travelling longer distances than a cruizer" - quoted from bannanaization
is it normal to not do tricks on these? I'm 15, and have never been into skate(board)ing. Do you guys thinks it's okay to use this exclusively for, well, cruising?
@Alannbitchh I have no idea... I wear 11.5 (US) to 12 (US) size shoes. I like wider decks. The slim decks that Sector9 features - most of the time - didn't catch my interest; I wanted a wider deck.
@TheArnez6 Cool beans; it's true - the top gets dirty, but ride quality is awesome! For me, it's a good trade off. I like to clean my deck once in a while, though - to get that "mint condition" feel back.
@rbetesh32 They are similar but there are some differences.
Landshark Rasta:
- 8.8 inch wide x 27.7 inch long, 16.5 inch wheelbase, 2.7 inch nose & 4.3 inch kick tail, 8 inch trucks
Mako Shark (red):
- 9.5 inch wide x 33 inch long, 18 inch wheelbase, 4.4 inch nose & 6.5 inch kick tail, 8.25 inch trucks
Both boards have 65mm wheels (road rider) with 78a durometer. They are mostly flat but have some concave to them. Rasta - Green wheels; Mako - Red wheels. I prefered more space & got a Mako.
@rbetesh32 I would say the Mako, I was looking at the landshark too, but I got to see it in person and felt it was too small for what I wanted to use the board for (getting to class). But I'd say the only difference is the length. They are pretty much the same board just different size.
@SK8LOVER9000 I'm not sure what you will be upgrading from... But, I will say this: If I was to upgrade the bearings (for my board), I would buy Bones Reds (ABEC-5) bearings. They are about $12 - $13 dollars on Amazon.com. The board comes with ABEC-3's, so upgrading to ABEC-5's is my best bet.
@drawman42 I received a total of $57.00 dollars for the package. But it included the GameCube itself with all cables, 2 controllers, around 12 games, and 1017 block memory card (64MB - by nyko: was one of the first ones). I sold it on Craigslist along with other items I didn't use like a wooden skimboard. I still have my PS2 and SNES though; now I play Street Fighter II instead of super smash bros.
@ronaldo63a If you are referring to the board will handle, I don't know. That depends on how loose or tight the trucks are and how you ride. One thing is for sure... it should go faster and roll smoother. I have not changed my stock bearings yet.
@AIRSOFT1400 nice. u know, I was watching my own video and the board looks so small in the video. I mean, it's big in person. Now that I ride this comfortably, I feel like I can hop onto any skateboard / longboard. Walmart $30 board w/ plastic bushings = no turnage. Save the cash, get quality; learned the hard way.
Besides that, I recommend loosening up the trucks 4 turns. Skaters at my local park have ridden the board; told me its like riding a surfboard: heavier. Not for tricks, in my opinion.
hey yucan duit i change my u tube name around.i used to be ronaldo63a. my mum bought the boared and at my house now . i just have to wait till my birthday
@AusKid1010 You were able to find it? The same one? Waiting till your birthday... I see. I don't get presents on my birthday: I don't celebrate birthdays. I get presents whenever my parents feel like I earned them or on an occasion they see fit (excluding holidays, birthdays, etc. - mostly on plain days; non holiday days. But I bought this board with the money I earned from selling my GameCube and its games and controllers. So, I traded my gaming system (and super smash bros) for this board.
@ronaldo63a fast... Is the shipping fast? I really have no idea. I know the board is fast but I really do not know of any online stores in Australia that sell this board. I tried looking for some and was unsuccessful. If there any skate shops in your vicinity, they may have a better word than I do here in the United States. I'll keep an eye out though.
@AIRSOFT1400 Would recommend; A crappy board would be like a skateboard bought from Walmart. I had a crappy Walmart board before I upgraded to this one. It sorta felt like this Walmart < Santa Cruz Mako Shark. More like on a scale of 1 to 10: Walmart = -5 & Mako Shark = 10. Keep in mind, this cruiser board is like a short longboard, but not too short - 3 inches shorter of 3 feet long.
I'm 6 foot & 1 inch tall, 150 pounds & it works for me. I wear 11 - 11.5 size shoe; wider deck is better.
I'm going to make another video showing what the board looks like now - after many rides. Now it has some scratches and doesn't look as beautiful as in the beginning, but still looks cool. I cleaned the bearings and now they spin longer and smoother. Quite good for stock bullet ABEC-3 bearings. I used Bones Speed Cream along with a Degreaser. Degrease first and, once bearings are dry, applied Bones speed cream, cleaned the wheels and spacers, put it back together and done. It's great!
@ronaldo63a the popping noise @ 3:40 would be the sound of the new bushings as the trucks turn for the first time. Before they are broken in, they make sqeak / pop noises; that's normal. Plus the trucks were tight when I got on the first time.
@PERRONmedia I know they aren't plastic; but I was referring to the plastic risers because some boards have em. I loosened the trucks, and it carves good too. It's more of a cruise then a carve.
Which one's better, Land Shark of Mako Shark?
