Great review! I read some of the initial book for New Moon & I think I remember the wolf transformation being described as instantaneous. In retrospect I think the author didn't know how to write it, or action scenes. The books have no action scenes in them.
@808Lana I can understand why the author would do that, trying to not over-focus the plight of werewolf's life and more into focusing on the relationships they have with other characters. For werewolf movies the whole being able to control the transformation is actually really rare which is why it struck me as off. I am used to feeling sympathy for the big hairy guys who really don't have control over their inner animal.
I saw the first Twilight movie on tv with no expectations either way.
I know a lot of people hate it just because the vampires are faggy or something, but I really didn't care.
In my opinion, the first one wasn't that good but, it wasn't a disgusting horrible mess of shit people make it seem.. I think all the anti-hype is the boyfriends of girls who like Edward's body or something. I really have no bias either way towards the film.
I'll see the 2nd one when it comes to HBO or something.
@HardToWatchReviews, "Help, there's a fire in the theater, some psycho with a gas can and a slicked back hairdo calling himself Blonde is causing all kinds of madness in those stands, call the police!"
Never think that I would give Reservoir Dogs a lesser rating than this film, Reservoir Dogs gets a clean two huge thumbs up (am I ruining a future review by telling you this?).
@Str3tchnut5, Violence, gotta get me some of that! Let's not beat around the bush, vampires and werewolves should all be much more violent than were portrayed in this movie. Volturi brought that "fuck all humans" kind of feeling with a pleasant old Roman demeanor. But more violence would have been preferable, they are all blood loving monsters that could tear each other apart and should act as such.
I thought it was well done, but yes Jane needed more of a role, but hey atleast she got more of a role then her twin brother, i think she gets more of a role in one of the next films, i lovee the little cat fight between Alice & Jacob, it was awesome! Alice is my fave :)
I saw The Blind Side out of an attempt to avoid Twi-Hards, turns out all the emo girls who came to late to get a ticket to New Moon had no choice but see Blind Side. Lucky me, on top of the sappy people crying from the inspirational movie and pissed off goth girls crying cause they couldn't get in. None the less, Blind Side was fantastic, I recommend you see it. I'm planning on seeing this tomorrow, reluctantly, but I'm not expecting much. Great Review, dude.
@RevolutionReviews , I am checking out Blind Side tomorrow, the idea of the film fascinates me and I really want to see Sandra B. in another good movie again. I understand the annoyance of people crying at not getting in or being sad during a fictional story, but regardless I found personal joy in it but that simply will not be the case for everyone. Thanks for the comment, you rock as always, can't wait to see your review!
@Noyjeetut, As I stated, my main qualm with the first movie was the lack of violent vampires say like the old Bram Stoker's Dracula who could cause unimaginable pain to others. So the Volturi (ancient vampires and all around bad mother fuckers) was the reason why I preferred this to the original and had me wanting to know more about them.
But my enjoyment does not stop me from noting the obvious things that are wrong with the film. Thanks for the comment!

I saw the first film just because I was interested in seeing that rising staar know as Kristen Stewart
I liked and liked this one more. I don't relate to peoples uber hatred of the stuff.
Though it'll be good to end so Kristen Stewart can finally be free!

Wow, you were the last guy I'd expect to give this movie a "better than Reservoir Dogs" rating. Shame on you !
JK ! But still, I'm impressed you sat through the whole film (I'm assuming) and didn't jimmy the theater doors shut and light the place on fire.
You are a much better man than I am... almost. :)

Awesome Review, as usual.
I never had that need to see a Twilight movie though. I'm not the biggest fan of romance plots either.
I'm like you. I like violence but am not a violent person. haha

@VoodooMagick, Alice was pretty entertaining, her back and forth with Bella was pretty funny, hard to think of her as a vampire in any sense.

I'm suprised you liked it. Too much beautiful bodies that distract from the plot (the very little that it had). I have to watch Dracula eventually.

You liked it but were able to name more things you disliked than liked with it. Neutral sounds fair though.
