Marquez was the presser but when you don't land more punches than your opponent then it's called ineffective aggression. Manny landed the harder punches and more most of the rounds. I didn't know that you could get outstruck for 9 rounds and still pull off a victory. @QRF11B No, I'm not denying Pacquiao the credit that he deserves, but I do point at the fact that the judges have given him the credit for rounds that he did not deserve to win more than Marquez did. Close rounds, lot of action, very tough to score, but some of the rounds that the judges gave to Pacquiao were clearly won by Marquez in fights 2 and 3. Pacquiao fought great in the second fight, and he was a hurricane in the start of the first; but Marquez was more effective more often.

They've both been so even, that if you sume the numbers of the three fights, you will obtain 18 rounds each, and an edge of like 10 or less in power shots. And, looking at the outcomes of the first two fights, the 4 knockdowns scored by Pacquiao hardly mean something. They couldn't be more even. It's a shame that the outcomes have been so controversial.

I had Marquez winning a close fight. Pacquao just could not land his left hand...In fact...he didn't really land anything of significance. This was basically a brilliant displaying of counter-punching and shutting down a man's best weapon. This was flashes of Wilfredo Benitez...who won all 15 rounds vs. Duran all those years ago.

Every time they click for swings, jabs landed or power punches landed colored LED's should flash behind them so we can see how good they are at their jobs. Only the best judges (voted on by sports writers or even registered fans) get to score big fights and eventually we will have fairer analysis and outcomes. PPV buyers should be respected.

Marquez was the presser but when you don't land more punches than your opponent then it's called ineffective aggression. Manny landed the harder punches and more most of the rounds. Marquez countered, Manny knowing the risk he was taking for going forward lost the fight because he was getting hit too much by the combinations and flurries of JMM. @QRF11B No, I'm not denying Pacquiao the credit that he deserves, but I do point at the fact that the judges have given him the credit for rounds that he did not deserve to win more than Marquez did. Close rounds, lot of action, very tough to score, but some of the rounds that the judges gave to Pacquiao were clearly won by Marquez in fights 2 and 3. Pacquiao fought great in the second fight, and he was a hurricane in the start of the first; but Marquez was more effective more often.

They've both been so even, that if you sume the numbers of the three fights, you will obtain 18 rounds each, and an edge of like 10 or less in power shots. And, looking at the outcomes of the first two fights, the 4 knockdowns scored by Pacquiao hardly mean something. They couldn't be more even. It's a shame that the outcomes have been so controversial.

Well, if you throw 49 punches and land only 15, and your opponent throws only 36 punches but lands as many as you, and he also lands the cleaner and harder punches, who should win the round?? That is called effectiveness. Manny was busier and more aggressive, but he was not effective. Marquez was effective. Marquez also imposed his pace and style in the fight, making Pacquiao miss a lot and not letting him move well in the ring (southpaw not moving to his right = BAD)

So, it was fair to give the close rounds to Marquez, he deserved that. And he still got his win and his title taken away from him!!! How do you explain that?? Bad judging in favor of Pacquiao, who makes a lot more money for everyone than any other boxer in the world. That's how.

No way they can even be close to exact while pressing a button correctly sitting at ringside when Manny throws two 5 punch combinations within a couple of seconds. U gotta press 2 buttons 10 times in 2-3 seconds while u only see the back of the fighter while the ref might be in the way.

Why in the world would anyone give Marquez that fight? Manny has a 100 million dollar fight coming up and pushed the action forward the entire fight. Marquez layed in wait like a sniper ambusher and took few chances. The punch stats do not lie. Besides, JMM drinks pee pee on TV - a real cringe moment I wish I could un-experience. Pacman vs. Mike Alvarado would be a great match-up. They would easily fill mile high stadium's 76,000 seats with a good under-card. Just don't expect Manny to win.

@aztecboxer69 The best way is to have 5 people clicking punch stats. One person at each ring side and one person viewing the fight on a monitor. Every time they click for swings, jabs landed or power punches landed colored LED's should flash behind them so we can see how good they are at their jobs. Only the best judges (voted on by sports writers or even registered fans) get to score big fights and eventually we will have fairer analysis and outcomes. PPV buyers should be respected.
