  • 8 or 9 million gallons just as well they had a river to draught from then as always with FDNY great work

  • Every alarm after the initial response gives you 4 engines and 1 ladder but the chief on scene can special call what ever units he needs

  • Holy shit 10 alarm fire !!! How many trucks respond to that? All of the FDNY?

  • Nice framing, great color. You got really great footage, right time, right place. Music is cool, too. Jimi is a great choice. Hendrix lives!

  • they need oshkosh p-15's

  • Haha, I don't think there is such a thing as a 10-alarm fire! This was like a 2.5 alarm. I once witnessed a full 3-alarm fire in Spain. A 7-8 story Butane storage building went up. 55-gallon containers of butane were blowing hundreds of feet into the air. It was marvelous.

  • @Robert111 Actually there is. An alarm is used in the fire service to denote the need for resources. Each alarm has units that come with it. That particular fire was so large they did not attack with hand lines, but rather master streams from boats and ladders. In order to get all these units the number of alarms has to increase. For example 1 alarm gets 2 ladders, 3 engines, a battalion cheif, and a rescue. The number depends on where though, spain may have different numbers.

  • its more like 20 alarms.haha.

  • does anybody know where i can get fdny wallpapers?

  • ive seen some big ones but nothing that big... nice job with the video...

  • whoa crazy...for you guys who liked the FDNY fire boats check out the new one the city got this summer "three forty three" she looks nice real high tech they commish'd her at my old job had the op. to take a tour

  • Geez, can that boat ever pump out the volume of water, better then the fire trucks hooked to the hydrant.

  • Great to see the fireboats working

  • that fucker burnt quick never seen the fire boat in action well done m8

  • if there was some light wind and push the smoke to the side a bit I bet some water dumps from the air would have helped alot.

  • Def good footage !!

  • that track fits perfectly

  • @Ladder155 it does lol.

  • great footage!!!!

  • Great footage. I love FDNY Urban Renewal Projects.

  • This one was "allegedly" what is known as "Jewish Lightning"... Funny how new buildings went up right away after this job...

  • @devildoc225 I think the landlord started this fire. His name is Joshua Guttman. He tried to have the area rezoned, and was denied - mainly for being a slumlord on his other properties so publicly it was in the NYT. Shortly thereafter, the whole place burned down. If curious, google 247 Water St. for his hijinks with illegal tenant harassment.

  • @SPKaa What we call in NYC..."Jewish Lightning"...

  • @fmc7204

Yeah me too. Especially when you happen to know why, how and who was involved, and are the same people that you would need to present the info too.

Gutterman might be the owner, but he just cuts the checks.

  • whats the name of the song?

  • red house, jimi hendrix, durrr

  • surround-and-drown!

  • Whoa, that is A REALLY BIG FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!
