I HATE that I get a tad of satisfaction from watching this video. All 'organized religion' needs to be accountable for their dogma. The still ongoing indoctrination of the children is heartbreaking. "Marjo" watch this documentary on You Tube. 1,000's of yrs. later....all arguments remain the same except now people can read and write for themselves (well mostly). Bound to cause some trouble. Thus the Crusades...et al.
wow, what a cool old church, and what a cool demoliton machine that is destroying it. too bad to see the old structure coming donw, but that rotating grapple is just awesome. that is a weapon of mass destruction. gotta love it.
Son, you ought to realize by now the rapid increase of atheistic and agnostic belief throughout the world that people are started to no longer believe in the words of ancient tomes transcribed and translated over thousands of years. Besides, your so called God is just an ancient answer to questions that could never be answered back in ancient times "how did the universe form?" "oh simple, the INVISIBLE sky man who has always existed made it so" I hope that and will better that community.
to all those who belonged to this church like some of my family, you have my prayers...to those of you cheering for this demoltion of this church, may God have mercy on you and spare you from the pains of hell!
this is misleading. the pentecostal movement is building many churches every year not only in American but abroad. church attendance is down in some denominations like catholic, anglican but up a lot in others. born again places don't care what the building looks like because Jesus doesn't tell us to focus on symbals, statues that's why they don't move into churches of some of the denominations that are declining.
That is why we have confession, second why is their so little respect for our ancesters work our cultural heritage, the churches, in other contrys they respect the old churches and reuse and restore them no matter what.
then Why is there so little respect for the native american beliefs the US is based on and the pagan beliefs that came before chrisitanity as well as shamanism and many other religions?
not many know much about them. Yes its is true that they were treated like dirt and should not have been relegated to third class peoples impovereshed by our actions, but I am talking about the christian tradition of our nation.
The founding fathers, did have an affinity for christianity, and being deiest. Thomas Jefferson saw truth in the bible even though he made his own version of it, and made it required reading for the school students not just privet school students mind you but, the public schools of the day. So I dont know where you have been the last 2000 years but, this is very much a nation founded on Judeo Christian traditions.
1.) Deism has absolutely no relationship to Christianity. It rebukes belief in miracles (such as dead people coming back to life), and divine intervention.
2.) Thomas Jefferson: "I do not find in orthodox Christianity one redeeming feature."
3.)The fact that some Judeo-Christian values are similar to the secular values of the Constitution does not imply a Judeo-Christian base.
4.)2,000 years? The U.S.A. hasn't existed for 2,000 years.
1 that might be so, but it does not rule out a higher power,
2 He was talking about orthadox christianty not the concept of God, and yes Jefferson was Deist, but George Washington was christian.
3 It does not disprove it either, The Declaration of Independence, also makes mention of a creator, and of God once. so to say that we were not founded on beliving in a higher power would be false, the ten commandments also are carved into the supream court building.
1.)That's immaterial. We weren't debating the existence of God, we were debating whether or not the country was founded on religious principles.
2.) orthodox is different than Orthodox. Thomas Jefferson abhorred Christianity. Whether or not Washington was a Christian doesn't matter. The founding fathers beliefs are irrelevant.
3.) Your statement makes no sense. Maybe you should try rewording it.
I would say it was, even though not all of the founders were christian specificly the proof is in the founding documents.
2 I know the differance, Jefferson did not like organized religion, but he did write his own version of the christian bible, so he is definitly not athiest.
3 then what does the similartiys imply, I would say it did have much bearing on how the founders made our laws and precepts.
I am not feeling up to going round and round to night.

Atheism is the second-fastest growing religion in the world. The only one growing faster is Islam.

@mackbee628
Atheism is not a religion.
Islam is just another form of mental illness.
