I hate how the documentary makes it out all polygamy is like what happens here. Abuse, rape, etc. are not polygamy or because of polygamy, that's something else entirely. Polygamous relationships can work and be happy when they're normal, natural, and consenting. Religion just ruins everything.

If main stream Mormonism really was against polygamy, the church would remove the Doctrine and Covenants section 132 from their scripture.

Let me clarify that I do not condone underage or forced marriage. Nor do I condone abuse. I'm simply saying that adults should be free to make the choice of whether or not to enter into a polygamist marriage.
I think polygamy should be legal, although I certainly wouldn't be interested in being in one of those relationships. I'm not Mormon, nor FLDS, but consenting adults should be able to marry who they choose, and as many partners as they choose. If companies want to restrict insurance coverage, etc to one spouse, that is their option and I see no problem with it, but adults should be able to make the choice of who, and how many, to marry.

Polygamy is the practice of multiple "wives". What does that mean? No state in the union recognizes multiple wives, there is virtually no such thing as multiple marriage licenses at the same time. If a man in practices multiple "wives" he simply has multiple sex partners, which is not illegal.
You could call polygamy adultery or you could call it fornication but those aren't illegal either and such practices are throughout western culture.

Men are using "spiritual guidance" to justify their sins. God would tell us to do something against His word, and the Bible never tells us to hurt other people. There were polygamists in the bible, but God looked at it as sin. Abraham and Jacob were polygamists, but that caused family issues. The only kind of polygamy that makes sense is that which is taught by Islam. All the wives (up to 4 only) have to be treated equally in terms of spending on them, distributing the time spent with each fairly, each wife has the right to their own home, all of the kids have to be taken care of equally, etc. and incest is a MAJOR SIN is NOT ALLOWED in Islam. And lastly, abuse is not permitted in Islam. After watching this video, I realised that there is alot of SICK people in the world.

Did you not notice in part 4, how the kids had what they should say about how they felt about the polygamist lifestyle almost rehearsed? The kids almost said the exact same thing. Basically, "If I want to be with God and get into heaven, I HAVE to take multiple wives." I think polygamy should be legal, although I certainly wouldn't be interested in being in one of those relationships. I'm not Mormon, nor FLDS, but consenting adults should be able to marry who they choose, and as many partners as they choose. If companies want to restrict insurance coverage, etc to one spouse, that is their option and I see no problem with it, but adults should be able to make the choice of who, and how many, to marry.

Polygamy is the practice of multiple "wives". What does that mean? No state in the union recognizes multiple wives, there is virtually no such thing as multiple marriage licenses at the same time. If a man in practices multiple "wives" he simply has multiple sex partners, which is not illegal.

The only kind of polygamy that makes sense is that which is taught by Islam. All the wives (up to 4 only) have to be treated equally in terms of spending on them, distributing the time spent with each fairly, each wife has the right to their own home, all of the kids have to be taken care of equally, etc. and incest is a MAJOR SIN is NOT ALLOWED in Islam. And lastly, abuse is not permitted in Islam. After watching this video, I realised that there is alot of SICK people in the world.

Well, if the US Gov't would prosecute polygamy seriously and at the level of the Polygamy Revelation, then Polygamy would be outlawed. I do get why wimen would want to live in polygamy. They would have a big family and "sisters" to talk to. Even a man now and then. Honestly who would want a man 24/7?

It's called conditioning, and brainwashing my dear. These women do not live in these relationships because they "like it" but because they are used to it. They accept this as their reality, and what is right because they believe that in order to serve their God they must serve him through their husbands. Even their most primal instincts to protect their children, and to want the most viable children has been corrupted by this. Who looses in the end? The kids of course.

I am sad that some believe that they can only serve God by being obedient to their husbands. Also going to heaven. Even I, who doesnt believe in God, knows that that is a total lie. I dont believe that polygamy is right but exactly that do people think about my lifestyle.

I mot certainly believe, that we should have ONE partner at the time not more. But if that is what they want, why shouldnt they fight for it? And I am only talking about those who can choose with their free will.
And even if you dont believe it there are women who live like this because they want to. Being forced into anything is never a good thing. Being married under aged polygamy or not isnt either.

What if a woman choses to life this alternative lifestyle? What if they think it is for their benifit? (I didnt say that, and I dont believe it) I am not in the position to judge them. I myself live an "alternative lifestyle" if you want to call homosexuality like that. We fought and fight for our rights. Being homosexual was against the law as well not too long ago. In some states or countries it still is.

Did you not notice in part 4, how the kids had what they should say about how they felt about the polygamist lifestyle almost rehearsed? The kids almost said the exact same thing. Basically, "If I want to be with God and get into heaven, I HAVE to take multiple wives." The girls will be told all throughout their lives that their feelings don't matter, and that the only way they can please God is to please their husbands and be their perfect little servants. I don't know how that's not childabuse

I could never EVER live in polygamy. First its against the law and second I am gay. (Sorry if you should think I am scum cuz of it.) I wouldnt committ other crimes just because of the benifit I might have. Stealing for example give me power too the moment I do it and if I am poor it would be for my benifit too. I dont want to offent anybody but law is law. and in over half of the world polygamy is against the law!

maybe it just wasnt on thier mind about race.. they only interviewed a few families.perhaps there were only white people in this area. if they were all black or latino families in this video nothing would be said..its like everyone wants everyone to be equal and not thinking about race and differences.. but low and behold if your not thinking about it and making sure you put just the right amount of people you are racist.

The reason there was only white families were interview was because this documentary was about polygamy is Uttar. These polygamists would all follow very strictly the book of Mormon and in the book of Mormon dark skin is described as a curse and mark from God. So I would say there arent many people of color who are fundamental Mormons.

I see one thing in ALL of these videos. There was no black, latino, asian or any other race in these videos but white people. One thing is for sure. There must be a since of nationalism in this way of life and other races must be excluded. The other thing is Romans did a lot of homosexual and perverted things, hence the fact that the ideaologies of them can never be included in any religion. This is the problem I see they are having.
