Hi Ian. Yes, it is an annual event in many cities as is the particular event in Chicago. The event in Chicago is always in the last week of July - for 2010, the event is scheduled for July 30 through July 31. Saturday is the cultural show at the park.

its great to see africans keeping their wonderful culture alive abroad us africans need to switch back fully to our cultures because the modern live style is not a good one the western world has tv cars house money boats planes etc but something great is missing and that something is the african ways of spirituality and the great sensitive cultures and understandings of the ways the world works the modern world lacks all of that big time

This is very interresting.I like the cultural display.We need more of this for the children born abroad.Ibos should be speaking Ibo to their children.Our language is suffering neglect from English.
