So I guess what these videos are saying is that it's bad to call yourself a Christian and actually know the Bible? Interesting. I'd rather be a Christian.
Jesus cares about the environment? Can someone quote me a Bible verse that says Jesus cared about the environment more than He cared about winning souls? Didn't He Himself say that this world is doomed? Wow. I was enjoying these vids until the clear postmodern message came through....sad.
Take a look at Billy Crone's "The Final Countdown" video series to see what he has to say about the environmental movement! I believe it's in the One World Religion videos, but the entire series is a VERY worthwhile watch.
@Sweet92Sue Exactly. Jesus said to give no thought for the morrow. The fact that so many so-called Christians push an pro-environmental, pro-capitalist, money-loving message is all the proof one needs to know that they're not really Christian.
@BJJistheway When did he say having a savings account was bad? Pretty sure that was directed towards this general idea that without a banking (savings) account you're handling you're money wrong and such.
A Christian is a follower of Jesus. A follower of Jesus is a Christian. They are both self-righteous morons who think they can say what they want but as soon as someone makes an argument against Christianity it's persecution and hate speech. Get over yourselves.
Jesus had a savings account and an accountant, Judas, who skimmed off the top. He also was not homeless but was a traveling teacher with no need for a home... big difference. Rome did not fear poor men and Jesus' disciples were not concerned about where to find money to buy enough bread but where to find enough bread for the 5000.
honestly i like how they say Christ follower. people get caught up on the names of things so much, and they think by saying, "but i'm a christian" will make things better for them...when they dont know that they cant just call themselves christians and BE christians.
Yeah, Jesus cares about the environment, but I think He cares a little more about the Christian you're so much "cooler" than, than your "cool"environmentalism. Bro, go read up on the persecuted Christians around the world and maybe you'll see there's more to JEsus than "relavancy" or "hippness".
@BJJistheway this is to portray the lukewarm christian and the true desciple of jesus christ. People in church now thinkk they are better than everyone else who doesnt go to church. its a reality. christians like the relationship with GOD and that is whats wrong with christianity today. dont see the imagine, see the message!
Although the video isn't the best thing I've ever seen the basic point that there is a difference being knowing about Jesus and KNOWING Jesus is something we could all benefit from.
I wouldt go as far to say that this is stereotyping Christians, as typical americnan Christians. I think they do a great job showing what not to be when it comes to being a Christian. Not that either is right or wrong, but I am both a Christian and Jesus Follower.
I find it absolutely hilarious the direction Christianity is going in an attempt to stay relevant. Of course, its the ever-moving progressive way of Christianity that has gotten "liberal" over time due to earlier conservative hermaneutics. And each successive generation flips the script to say "no, dancing isn't a sin. Images in the church aren't a sin. Hey, letting blacks in isn't a sin. Rock and roll isn't a sin. Metal isn't a sin. Homosexuals isn't a sin. Now environmentalism and hippy jesus
another idiotic exchange! Jesus didn't have Youtube either...duh! I'd like to see the JF dude here quote some scripture about the environment! In all of these nonsense videos, not once have I seen them spread the Gospel!! That's what Jesus really did!
this argument is that the following of jesus is the real message and plan for christians not just knowing the religion, so for anybody who thought it meant somthing else your obviosly just as stupid as the christian followers you hang out with. BTW im an athiest, and i thought jesus christ had very inspiring things to say, i agree with alot of his messages to humanity.
I love the attempts to make Jesus some lovable hippie. Jesus wanted ALL the Old Testament laws kept (Matthew 5:18-19) and it wasn't until gentle Jesus, meek and mild that we get the fire and brimstone and the eternal suffering of hell. Jesus may love porn stars, as the video claims, but he does think they deserve to suffer unimaginably for all of eternity. Don't you feel the same way about those you love?
When you cut out all the repulsive aspects of Christianity, you get Secular Humanism.
I absolutely don't think anyone "deserves" to suffer unimaginably. Here's the reason: who am I to create the criteria by which we deem someone worthy of eternal damnation? I'm also not so arrogant to assume that I understand the mind of God, if it were actually a mind that we could actually pick apart.
I also would argue that based upon my limited understanding of scripture, Jesus was a humanist, but it is possible that I'm reading a totally different Bible than you seem to be reading.

@NextTopMiler It conveys it's message quite poorly. It's good to know the Bible, but it's not the sole purpose of being a Christian.

I agree. Jesus doesn't. And he was certainly not a humanist. Read the Gospels.

So - what in your opinion, could make Jesus NOT a humanist ? (quote from the scripture please)
