yennoo..i LOVE muse. but i don't want it to become more famous as it is now. it's really kinda like our personal style and we can feel different with it in a good way.
I don't want all those Hipsters comming to me like ''OMG do you know muse! OMGomgogmogmgm blahblahblahh'' because that i cant stand.
I love music with all my heart and i wish i was born 5 years earlier(1990) ore something. would be really nice to know what it feels like to be on some of the older concerts of them.
This should be called Harmical or Mythical Rock. It has something special, something epic, and harmonical, rest and restless at the same time, both inspiring and thrilling.
love is not a strong enough word for my feelings towards this song, this song sums up each and every type of beauty on this planet, this song is full of so much emotion and to me is as valuable as all the gold in the universe, and even though they can't read this, i cannot thank muse enough for composing such a masterpiece that would make any hip-hop, rap or whatever artist tremble with jealousy of the sheer talent put into this.
I purchased some headphones that you can sleep in in hopes that this gorgeous symphony would cure my insomnia and launch me into beautiful, lucid dreams. Needless to say, though lying in a pitch dark room in complete comfort, I had to see this through until the end. How can you sleep when your ears are being graced by angels?
I find Exogensis rather incomparable to classical music. Maybe it is the future of classical, but nevertheless, I am enlightened by Muse's space rock feel. Muse is truly a modern masterpiece among today's artists. The artists that are popular today hardly put any thought into their work because they would consider a blob of paint on a white canvas as "art". Hah! If Muse were painters instead of musicians, they would paint so realistically that their paintings would be alive like in Harry Potter.
@psychment Realistic paintings aren't much beter than a blob of paint on a white canvas. Originality, that is what makes are good, as well as spirit and thought. Realistic paintings are comparable to making a photo; you don't make it yourself, you copy it. I have much more respect for artists like Jamie Hewlett than for an artist who perfectly copies. ;)
@LilBreakdancerr are you joking me? have you ever tried to paint something realistically? I just don't see how mindlessly putting a blob of paint on a white canvas then making up some 'deep' reason or meaning for it like, "oh it represents the isolation that colourful people must feel in today's bland society" just so that it can be considered beautiful or respect worthy, I don't see how that garners more respect than a painting that portrays a beautiful landscape.
@bethiasaurusrex I'm not joking you at all. I have been drawing and painting all my life and I am considered to be pretty good at it. Have you ever tried to paint something yourself? ;)
@LilBreakdancerr why yes i have and i'm terrible at it because i find it difficult to portray reality accurately that is why i find it strange that you respect the idea of a blob more than real effort, unless i'm subjectively better at art than i thought. but i guess you have some skill/experience in art then again art is subjective so i dont know what you mean by good.
@bethiasaurusrex if im honest i've lost my train of thought but whatever, you are entitled to your opinion in an entirely subjective manner, and any attempt i make to drag down you point of view or make it seem worse than mine would just be me falling prey to the usual mammal psychology of mammals shown in the ingroup vs outgroup experiments where kids that were given brown collars were degraded by other kids just because of the collars.
@bethiasaurusrex I never said I have more respect for a blob, I was talking about artists like Jamie Hewlett. I guess you don't know him and didn't look him up? I have so much more respect for his originality, creativity and skill because he draws eveyrthing 100% his mind and doesn't copy anything at all. Which is what I am trying to do as well, and I know how hard it is. While I think realistic portraits are easy to make.
Like this if you fucking despise your generation's taste in "music." Those quotation marks are there because that pop shit that everyone's into is not music. THIS IS WHAT MUSIC IS MEANT TO BE.
my music class just recorded our version of this song, it is so amazing to play!!! very difficult but incredible!!! Props to Christopher "Major" Marshall!!!
BEST MUSE HAVE EVER DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I´ve let all my friends/family listen to this and every single one of them loved/liked it, no matter if they were hardcore heavy metal-fans/country-/rap (ugh..)-/techno- or pop- fans! This kinda music TOUCHES ALL!!
If Muse made a whole album like this, one long symphony, I might begin to listen to them again. Thei're best in these classical inspired songs I think.
@thegrim9454 OMG yes and you know symphony always make me think of all thee evil things we have done like nazism, pollution ect and part 2 is leaving earth to escape from what we are hence "spread our codes to the stars" and number 3 is looking back and realising all what we have done wrong and vow never to make such mistakes again. Also the symphonies are amazing!!
@AntZudan, agreed albeit there were some pretty decent songs on this album although some was definitely lacking. Let's hope they kick it up a notch with their next release! They've already stated it is going to be vastly different than their previous work and it has me interested, either way I trust them as a band I just hope their new direction doesn't stray too far from my musical tastes.
I keep rebuilding Earth with this song. My brain is overexerting itself. I'm also seeing, or I think feeling, the insignificance of my little human life in comparison to the greatness of the universe. My heart feels so heavy. Heavier than when I first got hurt by a girl. I think I've taken too much acid. I've never been able to process my thoughts this well on hallucinogens before. It's almost like I've reached enlightenment. I just keep reminding myself its just a drug.
This is why Muse are the best band ever....no one like them...from Alternative rock till symphony, classical music!!bow to their superiority
Ecco perchè i Muse sono il miglior gruppo di sempre....non c'è ne per nessuno....dall'alternative rock alla musica sinfonica classica!!inchinatevi davanti alla loro superiorità!
I listen to this and know that music isn't dead, it's just hidden in the void of space after years of beaming it out of our planet. Muse simply found the old frequencies and remembered what music is supposed to be
did my drama GCSE performance to symphony 3, had to refrain myslef from cyring when I watched everyone elses. Came home and listened to the whole thing. Beautiful, simply beautiful.
Amazing. Matt Bellamy is a composer comparable to the great classical composers. Unfortunately, Muse's greatness goes unrecognized because people's musical senses have been dulled by the garbage on the radio today. This is a masterpiece that will never be known by casual music fans as long as Justin Bieber is still winning "People's Choice" awards.
You have no idea how many true talents are out there, but you know why noone will hear them? Because they make music for music, and not for fame and profit. :)
@redbearwoodall i think thats ok though. i hate chart music and people like justin beiber but i think its better that muse is like the "unknown band" working in the shadows :)
@redbearwoodall As a musician who has studied music history and music theory extensively, this is pretty cool but not comparable to the musical of the classical composers (read romantic era composers, as the harmonic language tells us that this is most definitely not classical music). Don't get me wrong, I like this a lot, but this is pop music. It is by far more intelligent than other pop music, but it's still pop.
@feebleterrance Pop? I also studied music theory for about 3 years and cello for 9. Take the drums and vocals out and replace it with a common symphony instrument and it would count for 21st century, and possibly even a mock-romantic piece. This is what separates Muse from the crowd and makes them great in this century's sort of genres.
@redbearwoodall Muse is a globally-recognized rock behemoth. Muse and The Foo Fighters are probably the only genuienly-talented modern rock bands that have achieved major commercial success. I mean, for one, they sold out the Staples' Center in Los Angeles for 3 consecutive nights. Rush, Dream Theater, or Megadeth couldn't really pull that magnitude of a crowd anymore.
@redbearwoodall But what's the problem? better they have gone in having a low profile... That makes them see more interesting and jajajaja its concerts wont get a high price jejejej..... I jock! c: Muse costs all money arround the world
I used to listen to the music that most people like nowadays. After my dad introduced me to types of music he likes (especially Muse), everything changed, they open my mind about how real music is, I'd rather listen to the music which are actually played, the music I used to enjoy sounds like craps now. Seems like I'm the one who listens to Muse or another real music in my school. I hope they'll hold concerts in Indonesia, I love MUSE so much :D
just enjoy the genius of muse guys or should i say matt bellamy the guys a 1 off musical genius, what other modern group would dare try something like this truly awesome.
Muse have acknowledged Rachmaninov in their title! If you understand what exogenesis means, then it won't be too hard to understand the correlation between the development of life and the evolution of music.
@MissSuzanneJ No offense or anything, but the music of mozart sounds much more classical-era-ish, whereas these chord changes sound much more Late Romantic-era or 20th century-ish. I'd recommend listening to piano concertos by composers such as Rachmaninoff or Scriabin (or someone else from the late 1800s).
@amilisom Agreed. Rachmaninov's 2nd concerto is the greatest piece of music I've ever heard. Muse has used (read: stolen) a lot of themes from it in songs like Space Dementia, Butterflies and Hurricanes, and Megalomania. Maybe more, but that's all I can recall off the top of my head.
@DelRockford I'm not saying muse stole anything. I like Muse. Why else would I be on this page? I don't want to be one of those disrespectful people that go on videos just to talk crap. All musicians take something from others, whether it be a notable chord change or subconscious sound. I'm just saying they don't sound like mozart, while recommending some comparable classical music.
@amilisom I don't mean any disrespect, I love Muse (seen em three times.) I actually found Rachmaninov from listening to Muse, at which point I realized how many of their songs borrow from him. I think it's cool what they've done with his music.
I listened to this for the first time today and it took me somewhere else. Matt is a wonderful composer. This is so beautiful. It feels again like the first time I ever heard Muse.
I tried to get my dad to convert with this, but he didn't even finish Overture, didn't even get to the guitar part, and he said it was synthesized!!!!! ARRRGH! Then I realized...my father is a Muse hater. :o All respect for him..out the nearest window.
@diamondwriter1 show him the Making of the Resistance DVD, that'll prove it ain't synthesised and show him the magnitude of what was written by ONE man!
they go into orbit with this masterpiece and all their work so far has only proved that when they get it RIGHT they are like listening to the gods play
The world lives, the world ends by the hands of humans, and a new world starts building up by a small Atom. Man this symphony makes me cry every-time. Lover Muse.
Part 1: sing along
Part 2: tripping because amazing
Part 3: closing your eyes and imagening Muse play it for you :)

@amilisom if you dont like just dont listen -.-
pirata19981 3 months ago
@pirata19981 If I didn't like it I wouldn't listen, but I do like it, therefore I listen.
amilisom 3 months ago
@amilisom Agreed. Rachmaninov's 2nd concerto is the greatest piece of music I've ever heard. Muse has used (read: stolen) a lot of themes from it in songs like Space Dementia, Butterflies and Hurricanes, and Megalomania. Maybe more, but that's all I can recall off the top of my head.
DelRockford 3 months ago
@DelRockford I think it's debatable on whether it's the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th concertos.
Cause they're all so awesome!
I think that the best movement of the second concerto is by far the first one.
tjtheplay 3 months ago
@DelRockford I'm not saying muse stole anything. I like Muse. Why else would I be on this page? I don't want to be one of those disrespectful people that go on videos just to talk crap. All musicians take something from others, whether it be a notable chord change or subconscious sound. I'm just saying they don't sound like mozart, while recommending some comparable classical music.
amilisom 3 months ago
@amilisom I don't mean any disrespect, I love Muse (seen em three times.) I actually found Rachmaninov from listening to Muse, at which point I realized how many of their songs borrow from him. I think it's cool what they've done with his music.

they go into orbit with this masterpiece and all their work so far has only proved that when they get it RIGHT they are like listening to the gods play
tubular167 5 months ago
This...is...mindblowing! Fantastic! So beautiful it brings tear to my eyes.
Matthew Bellamy, the sole composer of this masterpiece, is legend.
How can people not like it? How can they ignore such talent, such glorious (hehe)-ness in this music? Haters are absurd.
museicfan756 5 months ago
@museicfan756 a hater is not someone that dislikes something. you should accept opinions, because they are not based on facts..
