Nah, English didn't trust any Irish, we had planned to use it to get the North back for ourselves (Ulster/Scot men not English) and if need be to kick the ass of the South (which we were friendly with cause neither liked the English). Germany were building up funds at the time and sold them to loyalists, things changed when WW1 started. God and Ulster (not Queen and country), we will only be loyal as long as it serves Ulster/NI.

Whether or not Ireland is ever unifed or not, the question/and or responsibility will fall on some government to make sure that all are included in voice and culture which quite frankly hasn't been accomplished by any government yet. I think signage should be in English, Gaelic, and Lallans (Ulster-Scots) dialect, for example to include all.
