that car is not stock my 06 ss only put down 215 bone stock and my sc didnt whine like that. i call B.S. please people dont lie even if the car comes stock with 215 and you only have an intake please list it in the description dont make yourself look like an ass
With the hood open the stock supercharger still whines, compare that whine to a SS/SC with an Intake, then you will see the difference, It does seem high for being stock though, either way, maybe it's just a good day for the car :)
you guys are correct that this is modded prolly has a smaller pulley because they only come 205hp factory and thats only to the crank so them stock is arou8nd 185whp the new 2008 Turbo SS which i have are at 260hp but mine dynoed at 246whp sooo i go turbo for the win
GM just announced today that they're recalling 1.3 million cars including the 2005 to 2010 Cobalt. If you own a Cobalt, your steering may fail while driving.
i owed a 2009 cobalt ss an dyno'd an stock i had 242 an 230ish torque? like i not the smartest with cars but if you no anything about them you only loss around 10% of hp from cam to wheels on a fwd car?? an loss like 20-30 on RWD an no i own a 2007 ss/sc stage 2 an have not had it dynd'd but that is SUPPOSE to be more hp then the turbo so no ur stuff before trying to prove a point.....
wtf mustang mike i dont care if u dont like the cars but please come up with something orginal you are saying the exact same things as that guy from car and driver or whatever its called please just chill out
The F35 five-speed isn't as fluid or precise as others in the segment, namely the Civic Si's. The electric power steering is linear but lacks the tactility of, say, a Mazdaspeed 3's. The interior, with its hard plastic accoutrements, still screams econocar, despite new seats with UltraLux suedelike inserts. And there's some torque steer, even with GM's best trickery with electronics and suspension geometry.
@mustangmikeca You go around searching for cobalt videos and bash on them. Nearly every single cobalt video out there you have something bad to say.. Looks like you secretly love cobalt's ! and you're just pissed off because a 4 banger can eat up you v8 :)
your retarded aha. 245 hp at teh flywheel isnt going to be 200hp at the wheels, the ss has more then 205 at teh wheels stock. stage 2 has around 245 to the wheels easy. dont call buddy retarded when you dont know shit.
Actually, it might be stock... the blower is audible, but I've never done a 90MPH test pull with the hood open, so it's possible. Most people who run the LSJ motors know they're underrated, and this one just might be one of those "factory freak" ones that puts out.
Also, I don't know anybody with just stage 1 on their Cobalt/Ion... the only difference between 1 and 2 is the pulley size, so most people go straight to stage 2.
i agree that the cobalt was discontinued due to emmision standards..you can see it in the carboned muffler tip... GM also underrated their cars because they knew it would be purchased by many kids who would dyno their cars and potentially have the option to sue GM for underrating the HP.. just a smart move on GM's behalf to cover the arrogance of others
lol, sorry I hurt your feelings, just that some stock cars do have more horsepower to the wheels at times, some cars are also underrated, just wanted to know if it was stock or not that's all. It's okay, just breathe:)
All you guys saying stage 3 are fucking idiots. Stage 3 puts out 280 hp and is not street legal. All you saying BS stop being jealous. SS/SC are underated from GM. I have a stock 06 SS/SC and i'm gettin a dyno in a month and i'll post my results.
yeah that was undenyingly modded, and that still sucks balls. stage 3 with support mods putting up 280? thats so terribly shitty. Even with its lightweight thats nothing to gawk at. Please stop buying these gay ass cars, i'm tired of burning them on the road.
Mad 'cuz he can't afford $20-24,500 for a SS/SC cobalt. That's usually the problem with these fags. He probably rolls a old CRX or something. Buy American and stop hating on a real American sports car. FAG!!!!
Hey "fag" you do relize that 95%, including most of the engine PARTS are made out of the U.S. So you "fag", stop hatting. I hate "rice" too and I am an American, but Im not an asshole that thinks he knows his shit either. And you are right, most "racers" or whatever you want to call the rice idiots can't afford cars with nice engines, so they resort to "tuning" 500~ cars. Real "tuners" of CRX could probably dominate this Cobalt SS. But then again, its a rare find for a real "tunner".
that had to be a stage 2 or something. I'm not a hater but I'm calling B.S. I think it's modded. No way it's going to be 234hp stock. I would believe you if it said 215hp because the stock Cobalt puts out 200-215 when it's stock this is info I got from GM and people saw the cobalt dyno result on the speed channel. I like the Cobalt. please don't lie.
As far as I know the stage 3 kits are saposed to put out around 300hp and stage 2 is 240hp. At least thats the way it is for the Ion redlines and they are the same cars. technicaly if he got either the stage 2 or 3 when he got the car that would be factory stock=) and it is also covered by the warrenty.
the stock cobalt ss supercharged puts out 205hp now 234, and he sounded like it was at 2nd or 3rd gear, when you are at that much rpm he was overrevving it, and he should of put it at 5th gear unless he has some kind a 3 gear tranny
Total BS...no way in hell a stock Cobalt makes that much power to the wheels....Anyone believing that must be on crack....If they were making that much power they would be able to whip a 99+GT stock...and i've never seen a cobalt beat a 99+GT bone stock in the hands of good driver's...This video has to be that of a cobalt with some sort of stage upgrade.
I have beaten a 99 mustang gt before in my stock cobalt ss/sc before. it was pretty close though, i bearly beaten him by a length. the gt of course took off faster from the start because of its RWD but i caught up fairly fast.
While I must add that even for a modded inline 4, 234whp is pretty impressive, although I also must admit that it's hard to believe that a stock factory supercharged 2.0L inline 4 could possible put down that kinda power to the wheels. Especially since GM rates the engine at 205hp at the flywheel. 234whp is equal to about 275hp at the flywheel considering avg drivetrain loss at 15%.
I dont know if you all have hear, but I came across a web site that offers stage kits up to 6. Any cobalt lovers should check out the site, part of it is still under construction though
i have one also, and can tell you the supercharger is a lot easier to hear when you aren't driving it, and with the hood open as in this case, would be louder yet
The manufacturer claims 205hp, Theres no way in hell stock it would be more than that. Most autos are lucky to get close to the hp claimed by manufacturers. Get real. and if you beat a 324whp firebird with your stock cobalt its because he let you win.
lol. Ecotec engines are pumped out of a factory just like every other engine GM makes. Sure, someone prolly tightened up the bolts, and maybe threw in the spark plugs by hand.. So I guess ALL engines are hand-built.
Mine wasn't though.. some caveman whipped my engine into shape with rocks, and pointy sticks..
Dude below me you realize chevy has changed things since 2006 rite?

i think that was at the wheels thats what the dyno measures. are you sure you wrote the right thing?

no i wrote the right thing, the stage 2 had 245crank hp or about 200whp in order for it to have 245whp it would need almost 300 crank hp
i think you either can't read or are a retard
