With the hood open the stock supercharger still whines, compare that whine to a SS/SC with an Intake, then you will see the difference, It does seem high for being stock though, either way, maybe it's just a good day for the car :)

you guys are correct that this is modded prolly has a smaller pulley because they only come 205hp factory and thats only to the crank so them stock is arou8nd 185whp the new 2008 Turbo SS which i have are at 260hp but mine dynoed at 246whp sooo i go turbo for the win

i owed a 2009 cobalt ss an dyno'd an stock i had 242 an 230ish torque? like i not the smartest with cars but if you no anything about them you only loss around 10% of hp from cam to wheels on a fwd car?? an loss like 20-30 on RWD an no i own a 2007 ss/sc stage 2 an have not had it dynd'd but that is SUPPOSE to be more hp then the turbo so no ur stuff before trying to prove a point.....

Sorry guys, but it's true. About 210-230 is the norm for stock dyno pulls because the motors are underrated and hand built so they vary a little.

The F35 five-speed isn't as fluid or precise as others in the segment, namely the Civic Si's. The electric power steering is linear but lacks the tactility of, say, a Mazdaspeed 3's. this car is not stock, the blower isnt that loud from the factory, you probably have stage 2 on the car.

Actually, it might be stock... the blower is audible, but I've never done a 90MPH test pull with the hood open, so it's possible. Most people who run the LSJ motors know they're underrated, and this one just might be one of those "factory freak" ones that puts out.

Also, I don't know anybody with just stage 1 on their Cobalt/Ion... the only difference between 1 and 2 is the pulley size, so most people go straight to stage 2.

i agree that the cobalt was discontinued due to emmision standards..you can see it in the carboned muffler tip... GM also underrated their cars because they knew it would be purchased by many kids who would dyno their cars and potentially have the option to sue GM for underrating the HP.. just a smart move on GM's behalf to cover the arrogance of others

As far as I know the stage 3 kits are saposed to put out around 300hp and stage 2 is 240hp. At least thats the way it is for the Ion redlines and they are the same cars. technicaly if he got either the stage 2 or 3 when he got the car that would be factory stock=) and it is also covered by the warrenty.

While I must add that even for a modded inline 4, 234whp is pretty impressive, although I also must admit that it's hard to believe that a stock factory supercharged 2.0L inline 4 could possible put down that kinda power to the wheels. Especially since GM rates the engine at 205hp at the flywheel. 234whp is equal to about 275hp at the flywheel considering avg drivetrain loss at 15%.

lol. Ecotec engines are pumped out of a factory just like every other engine GM makes. Sure, someone prolly tightened up the bolts, and maybe threw in the spark plugs by hand.. So I guess ALL engines are hand-built.
