To make your own vocaloid voice is actually making your own UTAU, using the UTAU program. The UTAU program is free and you can look up tutorial videos and some of them have links to where you can download the program in the video description.
And as to where you can buy vocaloid, just look around online and I'm positive you can find a site to buy them.
I dont plan on getting Vocaloid anytime soon, but this tutorial makes it look 10 times easier than I thought it would be. I guess it would be harder if you use the japanese version (and you speak english..)
It's too bad the english versions dont have personalities, thats why I like the japanese versions more. :)
But the english ones are cool too~ (You dont have to worry much about engrishy-ness)
Yes, the application is developing nicely & has been further improved with the introduction of 'Miriam'. It takes a little time to master to get it just right but I'd recomend checking out the free demo they offer if you have not used the program.

Um I have two questions. 1) As you probably know vocaloid1 is no longer being supported by yamaha so are there any plans to update 'LEON', 'LOLA', and 'MIRIAM'(I figured you work with Zero-G? It would be very upsetting if the first vocaloids were going into retirement(for the second time). 2) So a person can only make a vocaloid sing 16 different songs or is that just the number of vocaloid choruses that can sing in or on one song? Thanks.

not sure, but like I said, look around online. You could google it and there would be several responses as to where online you can buy it.
I don't think you'll be able to find vocaloid in stores, I've check around where I live and I found nothing.
