  • The Mega CD version looks better to me, fuck the jag it was a piece of shit anyway. At least the Saturn had a certain charm to it. Both being hard to program for.

  • The pre rendered sprites in this version lack the charm of the Mega CD's pixel art.

  • This version looks like it kicks ass over the 32x prototype. And it crashes at about the same place.

  • wow this game looks bad ass

  • Excellent vids. I love my jag cd too :)

  • e' Bellissimo!!!

  • This looks awesome!!

  • It sounds like the music from Xenogears. I have to say that the jaguar was pretty good, but the controller and the library hurt it. I think the only thing worth talking about on the Jaguar was Alien vs. Predator.

  • Wow, the music is fantastic!!! This looks like a fun game, too bad...

  • Atari did not have as much third party support for jaguar. And second it's own first party programming team was not enough either. It takes a fairly large amount of programmers to program a great game. Too bad atari had potential with jaguar. Also did you all know atari had the rights to make any sega game for jaguar at the time! And they never bothered to use those rights and made cheesy immations of every game out there! Thats what to much pride will do to ya. Atari was notorious for that! LOL

  • Back in those days, you didn't have large teams of programmers. It was commonplace to have a couple coders and just a couple art guys.

As far as rights to sega games, no, they didn't have rights to publish any sega game they wanted.

The lawsuit allowed for a certain amount, but it was already late in the Jaguar's life.

  • Nintendo did!!! Sega did! BEcause they had the money!

  • Is this available for download? Like say, on jaguar sector? It looks great I definitely want to give it a go. If it isn't available for download, is it available for purchase, thanks.

  • Unfortunately, no to both.

The rights haven't been acquired, so no one really has it for download or purchase.

There was one guy on EBay who had been selling CD-R copies, but I'm not sure if he continues to do so. I haven't seen one up there for a long time.

  • forse mi arriva il 23 agosto per posta! for jaguar

  • This would have been the best version of Soulstar you can get... if it was ever finished... shame to all who didn´t buy the jaguar ;)

  • If this game is not to cartridge, please specific in the title.

    ¿Is cartridge?

  • How about I just put it in the description...

  • Geez, that actually looks like a pretty goo game. Too bad there was never an official release.

  • There's all these protos floating around and no one from the Jag coding community will finish them; how sad.

  • Well, without commented source code it'd be pretty damned difficult.

  • i prefer the sega cd version over this

  • That sort of goes without saying... this version wasn't ever completed. It's like saying you prefer the retail version of Call of Duty over the demo.

In any case, I've never looked at the Sega CD version. How do they differ, if you don't mind me asking? In what ways is the Sega CD version superior?

I'm not being argumentative, I'm really interested to know.

  • Great music and graphics, but the game play is nothing new. Same old shoot-em-up, shoot or be shot style game.

  • I own the sega cd version and this looks alot better. The sound and music are the same. The ship looks alot better and the color too. Anybody who has a sega cd knows they have terrible color.

  • I wish the Jaguar had a complete version :-/

It's rumored that there is one out there, but it hasn't surfaced.

At least you have the whole thing on the Sega CD :)

  • Nice. Too bad they never finished and released it.

  • its the theme music that made me realise i own this on the mega cd this version looks like i would of been better but the mega cd version looks great especialy the semi 3d stages

  • It would depend on which Sega system, definitely not Genesis, not even Sega CD would look that good, but maybe 32X, though I know for a fact it isn't on the 32X cause I own that system. I did have a question though, is this Jaguar or Jaguar CD?

  • jag cd.

  • Wow this game looks really cool. I gotta add this to my Jaguar collection.

  • This game looks pretty alright but which version is it: Jag or Sega?

  • I only do videos of Jaguar games/demos :)

  • That's what your descriptions says but see sciarpos comments above.

  • He also stated later on (which you can read there as well) that it is a jag game and is better than the sega version.

And just to make sure there is no more confusion over this matter:

I do NOT own a Sega Genesis and therefore cannot create a video of a Sega Genesis game :)

I own a Jaguar and do only Jaguar videos. I don't find these videos -- I record them myself.

  • i think your weapon must be a bottle of those bubbles you blow :D

  • Well I feel stupid, I haven't played this game in a long time. This is the Jag game. Still better than the Sega version though.

  • The Jag's graphics are MUCH better.

  • This is NOT the Jaguar version, It is the Sega version.

  • Man.. I want this.. but I'm paying the crooks on Ebay for it.

  • *not paying the crooks that is
