I'm from the same hometown as these people, same church. This is for real, not fraud. I don't know them personally, but they are good people, wouldn't be the type to fake this, they just thought it was cute, so decided to share.

Yeah, right. Wild squirrels just wander close to people all the time, casually turn their backs to those people, and pose for the camera.
These fraudsters are getting plenty of attention for their efforts. Of course, getting attention from gullible nitwits is worth about as much as the fake photo itself.

it's not photoshop. These people were going to take a picture in front of the lake and they set their camera on timer and they went and sat down. The clicking of the timer got the attention of the squirrel. The squirrel came in front of the camera like "what the heck" and it stood in front of the camera as it took the picture. So the picture of a confused squirrel with the people laughing their heads off in the background is not photoshop!

we were in banff last year and the wildlife are very very photo friendly had one squirrel look stuffed while EVERYONE took pics
