@Darth, the law is a mirror, it can only show you that you are dirty, it can not clean you. Jesus came to clean us. We are children of Jacob's wife, children of Grace, we are of the Benjamin Generation (Joseph represented Jesus, he had 10 older brothers not of the same mother but of slave women representing the law, then he was born of Jacob's wife, then came Benjamin also born of Jacob's wife and representative of us, those who are re-born thanks to Christ's Grace, not the law).
If any one person I know is most guilty of this it is I, and oh now that I have heard this I must STOP being of this sort and trust that God would bring me quit my foolishness.
@V3ryan by crying out to God, repenting and trusting in Him. You cannot work your way into heaven. The scripture tells us in Phil 1:6 "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." No one can tell you you are saved only God. So seek Him, yes you have sinned but do you continue in it purposefully or do you hate it each time you do? If you have a new relationship with God you have a new relationship to sin as well.
Under the "law" and "legalism" we have "religion." Under Grace we have "salvation in the LORD!" When all we have is "religion," we are absolutely nothing, even though we may think we are something. Today we are under the Grace of our LORD Jesus Christ who is God who left His heavenly thrown, came to dwell among us (not as a conquerer or an earthly king), nor as a tyrant longing for mindless morons to bow before Him, but truthful, heart-seeking believers who would confess their sin and repent.
"Unless the Lord had shortened those days, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the ELECT, WHOM HE CHOSE, He shortened the days." (Mark 13:20)
-
"When the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord; and as many as had been APPOINTED TO ETERNAL LIFE believed." (Acts 13:48)
-
"just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world" (Eph. 1:4)
@AgApE010 so by choosing who become Christians, doesn't he also therefore choose who doesn't become a Christian, it seems to me that this as making God the devil. any thoughts?
Yes. The devil doesn't have anything to do with our election. So regardless of how God elects, He is not to be equated with the devil. If you call yourself a Christian, you need to repent of your foolishness for your response to the Scriptures I posted being "this makes God the devil." Be more humble and God-fearing in your attitude. God is not to be blasphemed.
-
To get to the core of the issue, no one WILL become a Christian apart from God choosing... contd
...apart from God choosing them since man is dead in sin and only pursues his lusts and pleasures, not the holy things of God. As it is written "there is none who seeks for God" (Romans 3:11). When we have a sober and Biblical understanding of our sinfulness and how much we deserve God's wrath, we understand that God doesn't have to save a single one. So if He chooses to elect only some to salvation, that is not unjust. Indeed, it is a wondrous display of His grace.
There is another way in which we are responsible for the sinner scoffing at Jesus and His church. It is when we stab our brothers and sister in Christ by gossiping about them or imputing evil motives to them. We can be vicious in the way in which we behave to one another. We have been told to love one another as Christ has loved us. each time we do not, we injure not only our siblings in Christ but Christ's own cause. Take heed! I know I am not innocent in this and neither am I alone in this sin
I don't know if intolerance of the immoral behavior of non-believers works. What incentive does someone have to obey a law they don't believe in? I'm trying a new approach called G-rated shock value. It's entirely secular, but something told me to try it out. You can view it in my latest video if you'd like.
Christ Die once for all, for all man kind, anything else is adding to the Gospel. Is the law greater then Gods grace, GOd said GOd for bet but, it is Gods grace that keep me save not anything else can loose my gift of salvation.
Grace applies to those who are regenerated or born again. when a person is truly born again they are given the "gift" of repentance. A person who sins and does not repent can not claim to be born again and is not under grace but under judgement.
Repentance does not save a man. Christs death on the cross and His imputed righteousness to our accounts is what justifies us. But if we are justified we will repent..
This is one of the most Satanic preachings I have ever heard. Christ came to bring Grace to believers. Satan is the accuser who robs believers of that Grace by bringing back the law. Jesus only talked law to those who did not call him Lord, mostly Pharisees who thought they could save themselves with the law. He heaped more law at them to show them their need for Him. Anyone listening to this please know it is NOT of God, quite the opposite. Check out Joseph Prince for Truth.
You do not believe that you as a christian affect unbelievers around you? If you laugh at a joke that God hates, you believe the unbeliever that said it would not be more prone to continue in that sin than if you were to tell him it was an evil joke? Please, do not read into his preaching that Christians are saved by there works. You have not heard the rest of Spurgeon or you simply hate his preaching all together.
Jesus said the Holy Spirit is there to convict non-believers of their SIN (not us) and to convict us (believers) of our RIGHTEOUSNESS. Spurgeon does not preach the true Gospel and I HATE those he turn Christ's beautiful work on the cross into Satanic garbage either out of ignorance or out of self-righteous motives that are ultimately the work of the Enemy.
Every second of their life. Otherwise, Christ washing the disciple's feet had no meaning... The flesh still sins but we are constantly washed by the blood and the sin looses its eternal consequences (separation from God) because Christ already suffered it.
ok, has the Holy Spirit ever convicted you of your sin because you heard a preacher or saw a christian act in such a way that made you realize you were in sin? Are you suggesting God does not convict unbelievers through the actions of Christians?
I'm suggesting that preaching "stop sinning" as opposed to "you're a sinner who needs a savior just as am (not was, am) I" is what Satan would lead one astray with. The message you are saying and the message in this video are FAR different from one another regardless.
He is simply preaching to take heed of your the way you live your life! He is not suggesting anything but that you effect men around you with the way you live!
That may be how you are filtering it but that is not what he is saying at all. Jesus said we are to be the SALT of the earth. Salt makes you thirsty, it makes you want water. We are supposed to make people want the living water that flows from Him and we do NOT do that by doing the work of the Holy Spirit. We are here to be lights and the main part of being a light is not blinding people with "our righteousness" (which is garbage anyways) but being a lamp on the path to His GIVEN Grace.
Friend I can pick apart every line... Few examples of how he is way off of the actual context of scripture:
"How often has it happened that some of you have bent your knee in the sanctuary, and have said, "Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors," and one hour afterwards your finger has been almost meeting your thumb through the jugular vein of some debtor whom you had seized by the throat! " Treats the Lord's prayer, the way we were to pray BEFORE the cross still under law, as current
"You will see Christian men and women as fond of dress, and as pleased with the frivolities of the age, as any other persons possibly could be, " It is a WITNESS for us to have the "good things of the world". Joseph (archetype of Christ) send back to his father 10 donkeys (Godly language) with ALL THE GOOD THINGS OF EGYPT and THEN his father BELIEVED... Long sermon, no room here.
Geez, he just goes on and on about "Sisters in satin, etc..." as if God is not into blessing His people with the good things HE created. It is the opposite of when Christ said, "Who would give your kid a rock if he asked for bread? If you know how to give good things how much more so your father in Heaven..."
I could continues to go through this but I will not (already was told by You Tube I am commenting too much). It is the same thing as when Christ referred to, "throwing pearls to the swine." If you want to hear the truth you will hear it, if you want to justify your own "goodness" you'll listen to this garbage. Again, I HIGHLY reommend anyone searching for the Truth of Grace and Christ's Gospel (GOOD News) to check out Joseph Prince Ministries. That is all, Grace be with you.
Whoa, I have to say I have never heard that before. Are you saying that we are not to follow Jesus's example of how to pray? if yes, are we to deny Him as an example in every other part of life, let alone the most important, prayer!?
You have to take scripture in context. Many uneducated, NOT truly led by the Spirit preachers are out there making up their own Dr. Phil sermons by just pulling verses out of context to fit what they want to say (:cough: Joel Osteen :cough:). The Bible has to be divided by the cross, not by what we call OT and NT. Jesus spoke one way to legalistic pharisees (heaped law at them), another way to people learning (parables of how it would be to come) and another way to those who knew he was Lord
The "Lord's Prayer" is PRE Cross. Everything in scripture is written FOR us but not everything in scripture is written TO us. Our relationship with the Father AFTER the cross is very different than what is said in that prayer. The prayer is still a good thing and a good structure but there are entire christian theology classes on why it is something for Jews pre-cross. I'm not just some internet smuck, I've gone through pastoral classes, ministered in India, Dubai, Malaysia, etc..
would you mind explaining the difference between Jesus relationship with the Father and our relationship with the Father and how this prayer is not to be a model for christians today?
@markdelisle So you are calling yourself educated and lead by the scriptures? With your wisdom you divide the scriptures into before and after the cross? So in effect you are stating that before the cross is a different time now past, dust in the wind? In this way you can dismiss all of the 12 apostles and what was told them and preached by Jesus, correct?
You need to read what Jesus said about the Pharisees, he said they only preach the lighter part of the law abrogating the weightier parts.
@markdelisle So Jesus was really telling the Pharisees their sin was not keeping the whole law and telling others that they only needed to tithe. Remember the rebuke about Korban? So the sin of the Pharisees was ignoring the law, not trying to keep it as you state.
Your error is understood because you believe men like Mark Kielar, you see the epistles were written and circulated before the books by Matthew and John. Not why do these books disagree with Paul?
@markdelisle They disagree because they were written to correct Paul's epistles, Paul had created confusion, as you can read in 2 Peter. When in 2 Peter 3:16, Peter says that some distort Paul's words to their own destruction, he was speaking of those who say the law died with Jesus, but did no resurrect with him also. Is the God of Sinai dead?
I have been led astray many times in this way, not that I'm blaming anyone! I've thought, "Well, my Christian friends dress like this and act like this, so it must be okay." It's only when I've had no "friends" that I've been closest to God.
oh Lord Jesus You know that i'm no where NEAR perfect but Lord give me the grace not to sit by passively while people walk by on their way to hell, assured that they're doing nothing wrong because of my indifference. God i'm not perfect, but please don't allow my life to be the reason another one of Your precious creations is going to hell.
Lord, help me not to just look on as evil parades itself around me. Let me be a witness for the sake of Jesus Christ, and for the sake of the blind unsaved; those who are watchful and taking notice of the way I lead my life.
Let us remeber Php 1:27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
