  • Are you sure your grand-father didn't wear Orange to represent the Protestant people from Ireland...maybe he was an Ulster-Scot from Northern Ireland.

    Northern Ireland's colour is Orange (Orange on the Irish flag represents the Protestant people). The reason why Protestants from Ireland picked Orange was in support of DUTCH King William of Orange's victory over Roman Catholic King James in the Battle of the Boyne in Ireland.

    Your grand-father may be Protestant Irish therefore wore Orange..

    dutch are orange too, King William was dutch, and both were ruled by the house of orange.
