Smashboards does have counter numbers, but the match is actually 60:40 in Marth's favor.

Marth only has a disadvantage against Sheik (60:40 in Sheik's favor) and is equal with himself, Falco, and (zomg) Ganondorf. He has an advantage against everyone else.

I heard it from somebody ... It might've been a joke, but apparently double jump cancelling works wonders against marth because you can get within his range with the invincibility from the 2nd jump...

Um, yes there is. When I was typing "invincibility", I knew somebody would take it the wrong way, like the invincibility that you get when you grab the ledge or respawn. I mean invincibility in the sense that when hit in his DJ, depending on the % and the move, Yoshi will generally receive no knockback or hitstun, and therefore has an opportunity to strike back. This approach is ideal for getting through a hitbox, like Marth's sword, to get in a hit (although you take damage, nonetheless).

and while it's a great thing there are ways around it, and it hardly makes yoshi a marth counter

His DJ is just increasing his weight by 100x, that's why when he does do the double jump Falco's shine spikes Yoshi.
