  • shit!! Alfa engine give me goosebumps in the end.

  • how I wish the announcer shuts up

  • Music to my ears!

  • The sound is clearly different from an indy car.

  • Long live the Alfa Romeo V12!

  • I've seen this video a thousand times and the Ferrari, Tyrrell and Alfa still give me goosebumps. What a glorious fucking time it was when these cars roamed the earth.

  • lol, a thumbs down. Disgruntled Renault fan, no doubt.

  • couldn't have put it better

  • what envy i have...great stutt

  • Would give ten years of my life if I could see and hear(!)this great cars.Seeing the Ferrari 312, the 6-Wheel Tyrell and especially the Alfa Romeo V12 makes me feel happy.Great video!Since 1995,the formula 1 cars look so boring.Goodwood keeps racing alive.Greatings from germany.

  • That Renault V6 Turbo is only 1500cc! In race mode they'd get around 600-700hp out of it and during qualifying they would tune it up to 900hp.

  • That last car just sounded angry! I love it!

  • 1:14 MAAAAAAD

  • Seems to me that a v12 has smaller pistons than other engines of the same displacement. That would account for the distinctive sound.

  • I think people overrate the uniqueness of a V12's exhaust not. I reality, it has a identical firing order to a straight six (just doubled), which has a very similar firing order to a four cylinder.

  • I see what you mean, but for reasons I don't understand, all even firing engines don't sound the same. An inline doesn't sound the same as a single cylinder firing at 4 times the speed and a v12 doesn't sound like and inline 4 spinning 3 times as fast. ?

  • Actually, looking at this a week later, this is probably a stupid comment. It's obvious that more of the same makes a different sound. A better analogy might be a violin vs. an orchestra or singer vs. and choir. So in that respect the v12 is unique.

  • A v12 sounds completely different to a 6 since it has to fire twice as many cylenders per rev. Crank geometry has a greater effect on the exhaust note; at least more than firing order. Thats why an F430 V8 sounds completely different to an LS7...

  • LoL, Renault sounds like 2-stroke when idling :)

  • I was at Goodwood a few years ago and stood next to the Alfa V12 in the pits whilst revving. AWESOME! It sounds soooo good. Better than the current V8 F1 cars fo sho!

  • The v8 from the f1 today is just a buzzin noise, i hate it. I really love the v12, but a v10 is quicker and also sounds really good.

    V10 back please ^^

  • Kinda sound like the current Indy Car engines of today.

  • not really. the indy cars only do around 10,000 rpm max and don't sound nearly as good as a f1 car.

  • These engines are only doing ~11000rpm so they're not too different.

  • except the sound haha

  • Cossie DFV is the best!

But still all of those were better than present F1 cars, because of sexier sounds.

  • I love the V12 Alfa Romeo

  • great camera view point. this is a perfect video for radio.

  • Lovely yes....but how can you rate the sound of a Cosworth V8 above a flat 12 Ferrari or a V12 Alfa???!!!!

  • I agree they all have a unique sound. For me it is dfv first, then the Alfa, then the Renault and the Ferrari.

  • Thanks for the comment Schumisebas. I wish i could speak Spanish but it's seems like you liked the Tyrrell. It's a great sounding car!

  • El Tyrrell es glorioso!!!! lastima el final de Tyrrell, luchando contra los Minardi atras del peloton

  • Wonderful! Especially the Tyrell.
