But the Bible is not the law of the land. The Constitution is, the government of the people, for the people, and by the people. You can not ammend the Constitution based on the Bible, or anything else for that matter, when a demographic of the governing people is treated unequally and stripped of basic human rights. No majority can pass laws that discriminate. Prop 8 will not stand.
Ignorance - no, I have done far more research than you, apparently, have done, and examined both the secular and the Biblical reasons for voting YES on 8.
Prejudice - no, I have not pre-judged anyone. Prejudice would imply that I have a negative bias towards those practicing homosexuality. I don't. I do, however, have a positive bias towards protecting the sanctity of the institution of marriage. God described our relationship with Him as like that of a husband and wife. Ignorance - yes. Religious views must be kept out of this argument. Separation of church and state is a legal policy derived from the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. You cannot use religion as a reason to pass a law. Read up on the rights granted to all Americans by the Constitution. This is a legal issue not a religious one. Perhaps your research was one-sided. Didn't Jesus always state the one rule to follow is to treat others as you want to be treated? Prejudice-yes
thank you for your dedication to your faith. but i think that you are missing the true meaning of gods love. i feel that i have a very deep and spiritual connection with my creator, and i just happen to be gay. i am a firm believe that all gods children are created in his image, and he created me gay. i find it extremely sad that you are a pastor and you rooted in evil.
God did create man in His own image, and likewise woman he created from man. If, by God, you mean a general deity you believe in that created the universe, I can't argue with your position. If, however, you mean the God of the Bible, then there are some very important verses you need to examine. God is clear in condemning the act of homosexuality - you can get mad at Christians all you want, but it's the Bible we're referring to, not hate or evil - I am firmly rooted in the words of the Bible.
