  • I purchased the 2009 and we're approaching 40k and it's the best vehicle I've ever had plus I got AWD = all wheel drive.

  • I see Ford's design team is still comprised of outside consultants from Fisher Price & Playskool

  • euh looks like a mini bus.

    Im fine with my Edge.

  • kind of an ugly car in my opinion.

  • '

    oh no no no thank,,,

i dont like this ford EDGE / FLEX cars,,,

    not good

  • 17-24mpg! is it any wonder were running out of oil?

and fwd with the dissafvantages of a 4x4-heavy,tall, gas guzzling.

Maybe be ok if it had 4x4 and hi/lo range and suspension that could be controlled for height from inside car.

    Horrible plastic shit.

Give me an old yank car any day and drop a diesel engine in it.

  • Love new Fords :D

  • i lol a flex owners hahahaa

  • A friend of mine has a '09 Limited with AWD. It drives very nicely for being so large. The only time it seems big is when stopping. When stopping you can feel it is big and heavy.

The interior is very nice and the cargo room is terrific. Once the seats are down you get a big rectangular space to put things.

The 3rd row seats are comfortable so long as you are shorter than about 5' 9". I'm 5' 11" and needed another inch or two.

  • im thinking ecoboost flex but i have no idea if i can afford one.

  • whats with the headrest in this, as in many cars, it tilts forward all the time, meaning your neck gets stiff when your head rest on the headrest, no? and survey after survey over many years note that gear shifts are wanted on the steering column NOT on the floor between seats, YOU KNOW THIS FORD< Blew it!!!!

  • Man, I love the styling.

  • ooooooo, i really want one of these

  • i have one. the feel and handling is true. it's amazing.

  • I have one and I love it. Voice activated, heated seats, shit load of people can fit in here and sex is way easier...

    nuff said.

  • I do not mean to be mean, but whats the point of this car?

  • to attract large familys who dont want a minivan or a full size suv

  • gay

  • i like this car becuz u can move seats and have a party

  • Isn't that Craig Ferguson's favorite car?

  • best design for a family

  • NO thank,,,

i dont like this flex car design

  • Way to steal Scion xB!! Good job FORD, your very creative...LOL

  • 380Banshee, you are absolutely right it is a copy of the Scion XB. It appears like the Scion XB but when you look closer it is still a big Suburban in Scion form.

  • this truck will not go away anytime soon. i read how they have been working 12 hour shifts because they are selling so well. I was interested in buying so i did some research and found out that this was suppose to be a low volume vehicle and build units were started as 1/15 I read that now they are 1/3 and even 1/2 units t times right through the recession which is incredible. I went to whistler bc last month and wow there were so many in bc ! I am buying an 201 ecoboost :)

  • last i saw, Ford still hadn't sold 25K units in over a year....men a couple months tho...

  • nope. The plant in Canada that makes them was slated to add another shift, and even called 400 employees back to work, only to call them back and cancel. The same plant is going on at least a one week closure next week, because Ford gets their Transmission parts from INDIA (go USA) and they are on strike!...GO figure...

  • That extra shift was long ago. the 400 jobs they were going to add were cancelled. you can call that good foresight on Fords part. it was well before the recession hit. They are going on closure for 1 week but after what.. running 10 hours steady for the last 3 months? and offering 12 hours for everyone the last 3 weeks? repairmen have been doing 12 hours 2 years straight. Quite the far cry from 'nope'.

  • Care to explain to our younger "viewers" what the job of the "repairman" is as it relates to the end of line test and the manufacturing process as a whole? What are the implications of having them working so many hours?...you know...on quality...

BTW, Fords initial unit target for the Flex (Which was their first attempt at calling a car a "GAMECHANGER" was 100k units /year. I don't think they're half way there on an annualized basis...again, price drives customers away...

  • whats u problem with fords price

  • Transmission and engine are made in the U.S. It's on the car.

  • Engine and tranny are put together in the U.S. Many of their parts are from China India, and Mexico where the EPA laws are lax.

  • its true i have one

  • Looks lika Range Rover lowered

  • I saw my first Ford Flex just last week and since then I've seen one or two a day. I like the look of them; something different from the ordinary. I'd want it in all wheel drive, though.

  • most of the people in the comments dont know what there talking about 3.5 v6 262 hp 3.5 tt v6 355 hp good car i get 23 hwy at 75-80 on the hwy not bad really

  • this cuv has been turned into a hearse by many comapnies...check out the web sites

  • This piece of shit looks like a madafucken coffin

  • They never sell these at my local big dealer. I smell Ford cutting this to save costs in the next year due to low sales. Ive seen maybe 3 or 4 EVER on the road and I drive cross states alot! Edge is much better, more like the Japanese SUV's.

  • yeah but alot of ppl said the Edge was a BIG letdown

  • I like

  • Looks like Ford kept the plans for the Range Rover when they sold it on

If the Range Rover had a mongrel offspring with a Mini Clubman this is what it would look like

No accounting for America "taste". Big, brash, loud and unsophisticated and the same goes for the car It will probably sell in the millions

  • I'm pretty sure you keep hearing this all the time, but you sir are idiot - an "opinion" based on zero knowledge.

"Mr. Madison..." (you know the rest, right?)

  • Who are you replying to, and who the heck is Mr.Madison?...

  • My comments and other peoples on here are personal opinions and referring to someone as an idiot just because their views differ indicates that you were probably abused by yo papa and have latent homosexual tendencies. This is compounded by the fact that it appears to be a stock rebuttal On Fords quality, 3 out of 10 isnt bad (is this is the case in the good old U S of A?) 1.Lexus 2.Porsche 3.Cadillac* 4.Hyundai 5.Honda 6.Mercedes-Benz 7.Toyota 8.Ford* 9.Chevrolet* 10.Suzuki
  • awesome car. can't wait until they put the twin turbo V6 ecoboost in there

  • You'll be waiting a long time. If they put the V6 tt ecoboost in this box it would get 12 mpg.(downhill) It's the 4 cyl ecoboost that is slated for this gas hog in 2010.

All of these ecoboost engines are new designs and rely on very high turbo spin speeds with questionable cooling designs. Ford is well known for it's engine design problems (especially in their trucks), so this will be a real test for both Fords mgmt, Ford warranty costs, and Ford customer memory of their sub-par engine designs.

  • LOL, Flex already has EcoBoost you failed homo.

And the mileage is almost the same: 17/24 vs. 16/22 while obviously providing much more power.

    Cry more, assclown!

  • Keep practicing your English Sergey!

My comment read "...If they put the V6 tt ecoboost in this box ..." See the tt stands for Twin Turbo...Thats engine is only in the Taurus SHO this year. The other post I was responding to was thinking incorrectly that the Twin turbo was coming to a Flex near him. He was wrong. Becasue the Flex is a gas hog, Ford is adding a 4 cylinder model next year...Lay off the cheap vodka a little bit....Dos Vi Danya!

  • dunno where you are getting your facts from, but the 2010 flex is getting the V6 twin turbo ecoboost. the inline 4 cylinder ecoboost will end up in fusions and the like. and when you remember how heavy the flex is and that it's getting roughly 90hp more than the standard V6, the EPA ratings are pretty spectacular. not saying there won't be engine problems. i remember quite a few of them have burst into flame. but otherwise, check your facts bro

  • Don't bet your farm on that happening. Keep your options open when it comes to the 4 cylinder ecoboost. It will happen...It will be a slug, but at least you will get 300 miles between tank fulls...Good thing Ford used the capless filter system...They must have known that with the poor MPG of the Flex, that owners might get carpel tunnel syndrome just turning the gas cap so frequently! HAHAHA!!! FAIL!

  • i am keeping my options open for the 4 cylinder ecoboost. the thing is they'd have to make it pump out at least 260hp or so. otherwise they might as well keep the current V6. and honestly, even a 300hp turbo 4banger in the flex would just be completely unfair lol.

  • im getting one today

  • Ugly!! Don't like.

  • It's soo nice! I seen one in Busch Gardens and it blew me away!

  • shit on the road

  • 35k? no no no.... its nice but thats to much money, used cars are looking to nice, thats why new ones are hurting, i mean a used freaking hella nice range rover with way more stuff, and better in every way is like 15k or less. for an 03. this would be nice for like 10k or maybe, maybe 15k. still, i suppose for newness, this is pretty good. i'd buy a mopar though.

  • Mopar is dead.

  • It'd be nice for $15,000 not $40,000.

  • i actually drove this, its an amazing ride, very responsive, and stops on a dime, has plenty of power for FWD

  • Great looking American box. But for $35,000 big ones. I guess I"ll keep the Ford I got.

  • ouch thats a bit more than i thought something like this would be worth

  • well msrp is 28,000 for the flex

  • yeah and when do you ever get msrp

  • as the dealer waht the "warehouse price" of the vehicle is, they try to avoid that cause they make alot less money off of it, but negotiating that can mark thousands of dollars off the price.

  • it will be fun watching people walk home from their broken down ford "flex"

  • huh?

  • looks like a range rover

  • Yeah it kinda does actually!

  • This car is great

  • Why can't Ford make better cars? Another disappointment.....

  • seems good for funeral...

  • what do u mean there is no future, ford is doing the best out of the three of them, and plus the american economy won't stay down forever, it's going to jump up eventually

  • @DukeNukem170

the american economy is purposefully bad to keep the people poorer as poor people pose less of a threat to corrupt regimes.

  • That must be the most negative comment I've read today :D

  • its a giant mini cooper limousine! haha

  • there is so much room in the back seat of the Flex that my 2 yr old daughter can't kick the back of my seat...now that's a reason to love a car!

  • Or you could be a parent and tell her to knock it the fuck off.

  • Your parents must have won the "parents of the year award" for teaching you that kind of language.

  • I'm an adult and I can swear if I want to.

  • The flex is dumb , buy a real suv , or get a regular car. Not this cross over crap. It's a bad suv , and terrible gas millage car.

  • Thank you sir.

  • Whatever, mistakes happen.

  • haha, true, read too fast, my bad. glad you re doing the right thing

  • Ever hear of a oil change? guess not

  • I only had it for 7 years....and when i got it, it had 12,000 miles around, and i get oilchanges you dumbass..

  • Krieg ur stupid...I have a 1965 ford galaxie and its been running since it came out of the factory 44 years ago without a engine rebuild and is still my dailey driver...it has 149000 miles and still starts perfect and runs great so stfu

  • you put a mere 149,000 miles in 44 years ? That's bullshit.

  • That box on wheels would never sell in Europe!

Ford's European cars look so much better.

  • 17city/24 highway!

How rediculous, another ford piece of crap. Gas guzzling crap. Ford will never make any fuel efficient cars. Notice on there commercials that they never show the MPG. Gee, I wonder why.

  • are you joking? You know that the upcoming 2010 fusion hybrid gets 41mpg thats high, and the f 150 gets 21mpg which is higher than all the other trucks except the chevy which is equal. The focus gets 24/35mpg, the fusion gets 23/34mpg, escape gets 22/28mpg, taurus gets 18/28mpg, mustang gets 17/26mpg, ranger gets 21/26mpg, escape hybrid gets 34/31, the explorer gets 14/20 and beats the toyota 4runner in towing and payload and is cheaper. So think of another blatant lie.

  • Have you seen the new fusion and new taurus? European styling, and they're bringing the fiesta over to the states. And that is ur opinion about their styling. Also how many old 1990's tauruss do you see on the roads? Hundreds. Tauruss have made it past 300k miles. I own 2 econoline vans, 1 is a 1993 and the other a 1998, 1993 with 160k miles the other with 60k. Run perfectly fine. So think up another lie.

  • My mother has a 1998 Ford Winstar Limited with 100,000 miles on it and it runs flawlessly. I would have to disagree with the styling remark. Even the older (pre 2010 model) Fords have been very strinking when compared to there Japanese competitors for the last few years. Though they are a bor to drive at times (Flex, Edge, Taurus) they have there bright spots and future producs show great promise ('10 Taurus, Fusion, '11 Fiesta, EcoBoost motors). Stop being ignorant and open up.

  • 100K mileage on a car is a joke.

  • i still have my first car 1992 ford aerostar, freakin hated it cause it was a van but the mo fo won't die haven't gave it an oil change in over 50,000 miles goin on 289,000 miles 2day

  • An engine with the same motor oil for 50,000 miles would have been destroyed a long time ago. You talking garbage.

  • hey like i said, been tryin to kill the thing for years now, if you can think of a reasonable way of blowing it up without blowing me up i'm open for suggestions, but i still won't change my oil

  • Chevy all the way they have great MPG

  • so do ford.

  • um chevy gets over 20mpg ford gets under 18 mpg so how does it get good mpg?

  • What vehicles are you quoting the mpg from?

  • who cares? enjoy the ride!!!

  • I dont care but i care when people dont know what they are talking about.

  • That's cool, I was just saying. by the way what vehicle do you like?

  • Im a mustang man myself. Also f 150s are my other love. Currently im leasing a 2007 f150 and am getting an expedition in april instead of the f150, and have a 2009 fusion which will be a 2010 mustang gt in about 7 months.

  • pfff "Think up another lie"? I'm telling you what I have experienced for over eight years working as a car dealer. Ford, GM, and Chrysler should have gotten their head out of their asses and focused on their products rather than their stockholders. If they had manufactured sound cars they wouldn't be pleading for federal bailouts! Think about if. What pisses me off is that they are still coming out with vehicles like the 2009 Flex... that car has "DESTINED TO FAIL" written all over it.

  • What do you mean designed to fail? Like people won't buy it or its parts will fail? Because here in minnesota I've seen numerous flexs. 3 at lifetime one day, 2 in maple grove and around 20 on the highway in the last couple of weeks. Also ford didn't take the bailout, also if you knew anything about toyota they are going to the japanese government for money and nissan is thinking about doing the same. So its not just american automakers. Its a bad time for all car companies.

  • I know this is an uncool thought, but if they gave it the sliding doors of a van, it would possibly be the best minivan, or at least be in contention for the best.

Plus if they kept the styling most people probably wouldn't notice.

  • my spot for ford flex is way better!!!! lol

  • Don't overlook the used market for these too, asn they have pretty bad residual values...YOu can buy a 5 month old Flex on ebay for about $15K...really check it out by typing FORD FLEX under the buyitnow tab on ebay

  • word on the detroit street is that in January, Ford will announce a $4K price cut in the Flex, and a early retrofit of the 4 cyl ecoboost engine. With all of the rebates, you will be able to buy one of these (stripped of course) for about 21K. Now THAT's more like it!

  • Ford's failed attempt at making something hip at the expense of fuel economy. The thing is fucking ugly too.

  • Looks are usually subjective!! DUMBASS!!!

  • Sorry, kid sales of this "failure" keep rising significantly. Last month 4500+, the month before 3200.

    Thanks for playin'

  • Well, let's stop (again) and look at the numbers behind the numbers...June is (seasonally adjusted) one of the most popular times to buy a new car...Families going on vacation and all. So June being the 6th month of the year, let's look at YTD numbers on your lovely Flex: 20,061 units!

40K annual sales doesn't quite add up to the 100K units Ford projected now does it? Add to this the fact that the Flex AWD MPG rating won't qualify for a voucher under the C4C gov't handout, and it looks bleak.

  • 1) no one's sales projections that were made BEFORE THE ECNOMIC DOWNTURN were fullfilled

    2) most of the Flexes sold are high 30's

    3) ni fact Flex qualifies for CAC

    4) let me guess what is your middle name - "Fail"

  • The Flex AWD gets 17 mpg city....Therefore it only qualifies for the Cash for Clunkers program if you are turning it in so that it can be scrapped, while you use the voucher for a quality car, such has a Honda or Toyota, or Nissan or ...well...you get the picture...

ALso, I miss your point about the Flex and the high 30s comment. Are you actually bragging that the cars are so expensive, and therefore profitable to Ford? YOu must be a Ford manager to have such a myopic (look it up) view of Ford.

  • I WANT IT RIGHT NOW!!!!! its so dam coooool.

  • get to ebay then, because they are already showing up on the REPO/lease return auction market at drastic reductions. Most of the late model ebay cars are auction buys, where dealers are okay with a quick in-and-out. Residuals on this car truly suck tho...be prepared to be upside down, for the duration, even buying this used...For God's sake don't buy it new...

  • i like its design, but its too freakin short

id rather have it at the standard mini van's height

  • Uh, this ride is ANYTHING ut short...were you being sarcastic? The majority of sales for this beast are to coroners and funeral homes bacuse you can fit a coffin in the trunk, without having to completely retrofit the interior..I'm sure that wasn't Ford's plan, but that's whats happening anyway.Google Ford Flex Hearse for pictures...kinda creepy...

  • I'm not sure, but I think he was referring to the vehicle's height.

  • i think you are right...

  • nope...the piece of junk veichle ford put out...in which most people find ugly

  • Mhmm.

  • your the one who's ugly!

  • I like this car! I with they could release it in Europe... Ford sucks in Europe... I want a Taurus :D

  • What are you talking about? The Fords sold in Europe are way nicer than what we have here. In fact Ford is preparing to dump a lot of it's US line up in order to start importing the cars it sells over there

  • Lovepontiac is RIGHT on. Ford Europe cars are miles ahead of the crap that gets a blue oval slapped on it here. Of course the Europeans are used to paying big money for their cars, so the profit margins allow Ford Europe to go a bit upscale. Ford better have a good hedge fund plan before they try to sell a Europe-made buggy over here. The price won't fly, without that currency-equalizing hedge...I wonder of Ford's CCC rating will hurt the hedge costs?

  • Guys you are ridiculous and you need to wake-up. Quality-wise Ford is on the top in US, not so much in Europe (with one exception being EU-Fusion)... I am Ford fan who lives and was born in Europe.

Don't believe me, just go and check some stats (JDPower, Consumer Reports, whatever) before you open your mouths.

  • What part of Europe? Not the UK I hope...I heard that they invented the toothbrush in the UK. How do I know this? Because if it had been invented in the U.S. they would have named it the teethbrush.

    :) hehehe

Just kidding- I know your from the Czech Republic. Seriously though, trying to convince people that Ford is the quality choice in the U.S. market is an uphill battle, and with a long history of reasons...I mean, look at the Taurus SHO for example...$38 K base is a JOKE!

  • Dude SHO is like AMG for Mercedes-Benz. No one expects they will sell tens of thousands of them. So your point does not make any sense. (Guess how much costs GT500.) Regular Taurus starts at mid 20's.

  • Also let me remind you, kid, that Taurus is bigger than BMW7... If you expect they will sell such big car with top-notch engine and all the features for $25k then the first impression you have made is pretty accurate.

  • Taurus is not bigger than the 7 series...How about you get YOUR facts straight.

    Let's review:

    2009 7 series (750i) wheel base 120.9

2010 Taurus SHO wheel base 112.9

    7 series weight 4564 lbs

    Taurus weight 3741 lbs

Anyone can add some plastic to the bumper cowlings so I guess maybe that is what you read...Taurus outside LWand H is slightly larger than the 7 series, but Ford uses the width including the side windows!

when you look at wheel track width, the BMW is wider..oh, and it does 186mph!

  • LOL, so you are actually aware of the fact that Taurus bigger than BMW7.

  • Thanks for failing! :))

  • This car looks ugly in person. It's like a giant 1st generation Scion XB

  • nice car ^^
