The reason this song wasn't a bigger hit & the rest of the album didn't perform as well as their previous and later albums is because right about the time it came out MJ got measeals or chicken pox from his daughter, which can be very dangerous in adults, he went into a coma and almost died. When he came out he didn't know if he'd be able to talk or sing again nor be able to play. couldn'ttour to promote this.

Yet another tanks for the post. I didn't know this existed either.
BAD is way underrated. They were incredibly innovative and technically brilliant while managing not to take themselves too seriously. This is track is a prime example. Hooks that should make any pop composer drool, sampling better than 90% of top tier DJs could manage, and an infectious dance beat.

I love B.A.D. , and I've been waiting years to see this vid again, but there has to be a better copy out there. I remember hearing this song, and thinking it would be a break out song for these guys, but it was not to be. Unfortunately, the style of B.A.D. got stolen and copied by many stupid bands

"so, is it a hit? or is it a miss?" sadly it was a miss! possibly thier greatest song, such a shame it wasn't HUGE. said more about good pop music than anything gone before. great sampling, locked in with the groove, don on toasting, mick singing at his best , beautiful melody off the keyboards, rockin' guitar- it had the lot!
the more i think of it, the more gutted i am! what was so great in '88 that this wasn't top of the charts all summer????
