Well he's not entirely wrong. It may begin with the letter A, but it's more AW rather than AM. AW sounds closer to O than to AM. Correctly it's 'AWwwM- mazing Grace rather than AMmm- azing Grace. And this is international. You can't use the excuse that Southerners will sing it differently to Northerners, or some bum-fucked kid in Egypt is gonna sing it differently to a kid in Glasgow North England.

Just FYI all the information I have gathered says this occured at a funeral & that the guy was not mentally challenged, well at least not by birth, but was influenced by crack & alcohol. Many reference it as "Never let the crackhead sing at the funeral". Now I don't know about the rest of ya'll but knowing that this man is sitting in front of a bereaving family just makes it that much funnier.
